bandit29
Is this even Minmay in the cel? I don't remember this scene... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...5953142976&rd=
BoBe-Patt
I don't either but the seller does say that the background is unrelated to the cel. So that minmay is from another scene. I don't know which but I'm pretty sure it's from the series.
Opus
It almost looks like the scene where she's holding onto Hikaru's arm while the camera robot takes thier picutre.
Fortress_Maximus
IMO the seller is not knowledgeable in DYRL or the tv series at all. DYRL has some of the best character designs ever (classic Mikimoto) and Minmei, even in the inbetween cels did not look like that! At best it is from the tv series but unless this seller can PROVE it’s from the tv series, is specific episode with a screenshot, I would not buy it. I can tell you it is not from DYRL though and the overall quality of the cel is poor. Trace line fading and fading colors. Also in all likelihood that is a nonmatching background as well, so I’d exercise extreme caution if you are considering buying that cel. Moreover even if it from the scene where Hikaru and Minmei get their picture taken together, it is not from the movie it’d be from the tv series. More misguided information from this seller. In sum, this is a lowend cel and hardly worth even the starting price let alone $50.00. Avoid.
Agent ONE
It doesn't look like a quality picture of Minmay, but it IS from DYRL. The background is from nothing Macross.

Opus
DYRL it is. The color isn't right though.
Fortress_Maximus
Interesting, Opus can you show more screenshots from before and after that specific frame? I am amazed that such a poorly done inbetween was used in the film; I’d like to know what the originating or ending key frames were. Thanks. BoBe-Patt
is this scene in the macross gold book? I may have to check that out when I get home.
Godzilla
Wherever it came from, I am not paying that price tag!
Fortress_Maximus
You shouldn't G, lowend DYRL cels are not worth that much and this definitely qualifies. The one I have is considered a high end cel and it is worth double that starting price. Cels in general are pricey but part of the value is based on a)the composition of the frame, b)whether or not is is a key frame, c)if there is a matching background (highly unlikely), and d)demand. The average price of most cels I have is more than a LV.
baronv
Well DYRL cels are hard to come by these days, especially key characters, and the price is probably that high because the seller states that it is an autographed cel. Though he should've probably started a bit lower.

Though he should've probably started a bit lower. Sure high end DYRL cels are hard to come by but low end ones like that?! I've seen them being sold at AX and other dealer books recently for less than 50. Also that autograph really shouldn't even be on the production cel itself. If it was on another sheet of acetate then fine, but some people when they resell do not like anything other than the original tracelines and paint on the cel. Are your images of the full screen? I am curious about where the scene occurs prior to and after.
