If I see a good auction, or a funny one, I feel it is my duty to point it out to the rest of you. If the dealers get to promote there sales here, shouldn't the Ebayers have the same opportunity. Anyway, I would've posted up this auction if I didn't want it, but I wouldn't have posted it if I saw a MW member bidding on it cause then I know that that person was trying to get a good deal on it. Plus I don't like to overbid other MW members *ahem* vermillion one. heard that! i make sure to check out the bidders list before i start bidding. i don't want to step on any other members toes and vise versa. if its something i really want and rarely comes up, i might make an exception. what i don't get is, why bother bidding against each other especially if theres more than one of the item to go around? i never understood that. if you see two, why bid on the first one thats going to end? just bid on the second one and everyone gets a good deal. That's your prerogative. If you see something going for cheap and you don't want it yourself, I would strongly recommend that you NOT post a public message about it. If you think you're doing MWers a favor by doing this, you're wrong--chances are, we've seen the item we're just biding our time. If you want to help the seller, who in many cases has been too lazy to do the slightest research on their item, and too clueless to give their auction a good title, then by all means go ahead. If you want to help a buyer, pick one of your MW buddies that you know is looking for the item, and shoot them a PM. If you want the item yourself, you've got a slight ethical quandary. Personally, I don't like to bid early on items like this, because it attracts attention (you do know that eBay lets you search for items by BIDDER, don't you?) and it invites counter-bids. So just because someone else has dropped a bid on something, that doesn't mean they've "claimed" it in my eyes. IOW, yes, I'm going to snipe you if it's something I really want and the price is good. I don't enjoy sniping, it's an ugly practice, and it eats at my soul every time I pull the trigger. But it's what I have to do to live. Just call me La Femme Nikita of MW.
