I've heard differently regarding step 4: he directly pours the mold rubber for the first half of the mold. The problem with this is that you cannot control your seams. One method I've heard is to make a base of clay first and carfully model the clay so that you can control the seamlines. Then pour the rubber in to make the first half of the mold.
