1/55 Takatoku Super VF1S Chest Plate

Years ago I purchased a 1/55 Takatoku Super VF1S in the box in C8 condition, box in C7. The problem is that someone decided to turn it in to a Hikaru VF1S but only got as far as repainting the chestplate Hikaru red so I need a new chestplate.

I dont want to mess with adding more layers of paint and I dont want to use any recast pieces.

Most importantly, the regular release 1/55 VF1S and the GPB giftpack VF1S were grey Valkyries, but the Super VF1S was a white Valkyrie.

Does anyone have an original white (not grey) 1/55 VF1S Takatoku Super Valkyrie that they are parting out?

Maybe you would have better luck asking someone to repaint your VF-1S chest plate with an airbrush. I myself had to use a white Jetfire chest plate to replace the crappy one on my Super Ostrich. My biggest obstacles were learning two things. First, how to mix and match paint and second, learning how to airbrush. However, the airbrush took too much time for me to enjoy it. From now on, I think that I'll stick to spray cans. :D

I own the 1990 reissue and a taka, are you still curious if they'll color match?  If so, I'll take a look when I get home.

Color match and structurally match. I believe the Taka is going to fit differently, this is seen in the small gap between the chest plate and back plate in fighter mode on Taka Valks.

I suppose if you really wanted to test it, remove the chest plate from the Bandai and try and install it on your Taka :)

done it. Every part is swapable between taka's, bandai's, matsu's, and jetfire. I know as I have some really messed up looking frankenstein valks I've cobbled together out of my parts pile. Joon's parts work for the most part but sometimes parts don't fit smooth. Obviously you can't swap out half or a jetfire nose with a vf nose. Aside from that the only non cosmetic differences are between versions and thats pretty much knowing when you swap a 1j or 1a head with a 1s head you need to swap the neckplate as well. it's always easier to swap whole assemblies ie an entire arm than just an elbow joint. As for a gap between chest and backplate in fighter mode I would suggest adjusting the slide bar the chestplate attaches to or swapping it as well if you have problems ;)
