  1. 60cm in length! From Google Translate: "In commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the airing of "The Super Dimension Fortress Macross", this item, which is currently being planned, is a three-dimensional version of the TV version of SDF-1 Macross. It is said that it has achieved complete transformation from a ship to a strong attack type. Of course, it will be an action figure that can reproduce the impressive scenes in the play, such as the main gun firing and Daedalus attack poses." https://hobby.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/1456796.html?fbclid=IwAR2Z8YSA00iT032s3ONx7LRYrvGjl-MdCVPY-RMRx7Vu8KAJTdMCTkjnSBw
  2. As promised ill be starting the ok im using a Tamiya Modellers Knife, Metal Ruler, adhesive lacquer, syringe w/ blunt needle, Cutting Mat, tweezers, cyanoacrylate Thin (Super glue), a dull needle or similar, and a pair of scissors for rough cutting. the syringe is for easy application and dosage of the glue of cause it doesnt have to Tamiya any model knife can be used, in the end its what you feel most comfortable with. now the super glue is not a must... but i find it very useful in certain situations! the needle is for bevel the paper on foldlines...(if u have absolute no clue as to what i just wrote, tell me and ill post a video of it) now first up, a little fun fact: These are in scale!! and remember: to those of you out there who is also building this model, ask me if u have any trouble with this build... or if you feel that i havent explained a troublesome part, thoroughly enough! what i did firstly was to scan the pages from the original magazine and scale them up from A4 to A3 which changes the size from 50 cm in length to 75 cm thats why it seems so big on my cutting mat, just an info so you dont get confused ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Ok here we go! First some simple parts should be straight foreward now this bigger piece, its important to start glueing the big flaps first, to make sure they lineup with the panelines. a friend of mine could not figure out how the next big piece would fit together, it actually to me a couple of glances.. the need to be seperated first this is it for today.....
Macross 40-week anniversary memorial activity From July 1st to October 24th, Takarazuka City Tezuka Osamu Memorial Hall, The Super Dimension Fortress Exhibition Aiba Exhibition [SELF-TRANSFORMING SDF-1] Shape! Completely new production super space-time Length about 700mm As the main exhibition of this special exhibition, a completely newly produced Macross ship's automatic transformation robot with a diameter of about 700 mm will be exhibited. By using the robot control system "V-Sido" of Asratec Co., Ltd., the space is produced with the Macross ship body that can be automatically deformed and the production image that matches the deformation. ● Planning and supervision: Hidetaka Tenjin ● System production: Wataru Yoshizaki (Asratec Co., Ltd.) Macross Broadcast 40th Anniversary The Super Dimension Fortress Macross Exhibition to be held @ Takarazuka City Tezuka Osamu Memorial Hall July 1st (Friday) -October 24th (Monday) On October 3, 1982, the TV broadcast of "The Super Dimension Fortress Macross" began at 2:00 pm on Sunday, which was unusual for an animation broadcast frame at that time. "The Super Dimension Fortress Macross" is planned and produced by BigWest, set and designed by Studio Nue to which Kazutaka Miyatake and Kenichi Matsuzaki belong, and the power of staff centered on Artland led by Noboru Ishiguro is concentrated. It is a completed SF robot animation. The creativity of the young staff stands out, such as the 22-year-old Shoji Kawamori appointed as the mechanic design of the leading battle mecha "Valkyrie" and the 22-year-old Haruhiko Mikimoto as the character design. "Three elements" throughout the series: [Realistic transformation and action of the variable fighter "Valkyrie"], [Triangular relationship between the main character and the heroines], and [Song that leads to the end of the battle] Was established and received a great deal of attention as a work that built a new innovation in SF robot animation. After the TV broadcast, "The Super Dimension Fortress Macross" became a big hit with the production of "The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love?" (1984), the first completely new animation for the theater in the animation industry. Since then, it will continue as the "Macross" series, changing the place of announcement to theatrical animation, original video animation, TV animation series, and celebrating the 40th anniversary of TV broadcasting in October 2022 while providing change and universality. This exhibition includes the main exhibition of the robot [SELF-TRANSFORMING SDF-1] that incorporates the automatic transformation of the space battleship "SDF-1 Macross", which is the main mechanic of "The Super Dimension Fortress Macross", as well as the "Macross" series. Setting materials, illustrations, and three-dimensional exhibitions of successive VFs will be held. Please look back on the 40th anniversary of the "Macross" series and think about new developments in the future. Exhibition overview
  4. I dont thk anyone posted abt this yet though its mentioned in jenuis's blog as a 90cm SDF-1 statue... http://anymoon.com/blog/?p=9672
  5. After getting used to this great toy for a couple of days, I decided to take it apart/detail it up/paint it and put it back to make my "true dream toy". This will be another slow but constant progress (meaning updated weekly) Thanks to vf-1s's scan, I first got the legs all disassembled and laid out the parts nicely for better paint job later. Thank God, I didn't break any parts yet. Some small parts were lightly glued at the factory, but most of them came off easily. If you don't have right tools, I wouldn't recommend doing this. Next step would be disassembling body and main cannon. Legs disassembled and laid out nicely. labeled them with marker for later assembly. Tools I used to do this so far. Some of Photo Etched parts I'm planning to use for detailing up Give me back my Pants!!
  6. Was working on cleaning up some schematics from the instructions of various Hasegawa SDF-1 kits for a project I'm working on, aaaaaand came to realize I don't super care for the proportions Hasegawa have used. The Yamato/Arcadia SDF-1, on the other hand, is about as close to perfection as you can get with its proportions, so I was wondering if anyone who owned one wouldn't mind taking some measurements for me. I don't need measurements for every little detail, just some of the general shapes so I can rework the orthographics from the Hasegawa instruction books into something that looks a lot nicer.
  7. I chose 1/700 scale for my scratch build SDF-1. That's a ship scale. I can use etching parts for ship models, for this SDF-1 I used human figures only though. It's made of cardboards, wood, plastics, etc. Kinda multi material model.
  8. some models of Macross that i have made for 3d printing and assemble. the link to my page by if someone has interested. https://www.facebook.com/ermax3d/ all comments are welcome!
  9. Hey all! I'm working on a 1:1 scale Macross (DYRL version) in Minecraft on the PS4 version. I'm having to cheat a bit, as at 256 blocks building height, I can't squeeze the whole thing in. I admit, I should've started with a flat world, but I didn't want to have to create the scenery around it. So, like an idiot, I began with a standard seed, an I find myself spending hours just blowing crap up just to make room to build... I'm wondering if any fellow PS4 owners would be willing to assist in the excavation, and perhaps even with the construction? Serious replies only please? I'd hate to have some troll stroll in, and start destroying everything I've already built... I look forward to hearing your responses! Thanks!
  10. i might aswell make this an actual thread... i have have started my very first Diorama, and its is the SDF-1 situated on macross island, its will be in scale 1/8000. the SDF-1 model im using in the diorama is a Bandai 1/8000 storm attacker kit, i converted into Cruiser mode, i had to remodel some of the parts since they where not to scale or was simply the wrong shape, changes made to parts where: Main cannon (gave it more bulk and more details) Main Cannon connector (changed shape completely) bridge boom (made from scratch) bridge (needed separation and details) main thrusters (looked to much like feet, changed shape and added details) the diorama rough sketch is pretty much done, need more roads though.

  12. Something of a "what if?", with my Strike Valkyrie (SVF-33) being launched during the final battle of Space War One...
  13. Hi all, my original thread of the 1/2000 SDF-1 was originally posted in the "toy" forum, but since all the 1/3000 SDF-1 mod are posted here, I may as well do so. Also, I am hoping that this thread will be pinned, so that my SDF-1 customization can have a home. For the original thread on the built up, modification, and reference on the "1/2000 SDF-1 Customized", here is the link: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=33243&st=0 For the 1/3000 SDF-1, I must admit, I haven't spend nearly as much time on it as the 1/2000 SDF-1. The 1/3000 SDF-1 was only lightly lined and weathered, but you will see, this toy has lots of potential! Hopefully the comparison will be another useful reference. For those who have seen the old thread, these are all new pictures (taken with my new camera), and it seems to pick up the details better. I have divided up the sections as such: 1.) 1/3000 SDF-1 - Crusier mode 2.) 1/2000 SDF-1 - Crusier mode 3.) 1/3000 vs 1/2000 SDF-1 - Crusier mode Comparison 4.) 1/3000 SDF-1 - Attacker mode 5.) 1/2000 SDF-1 - Attacker mode 6.) 1/3000 vs 1/2000 SDF-1 - Attacker mode Comparison Here are the sections, enjoy! 1.) 1/3000 SDF-1 - Crusier mode
  14. so i started making this papercraft originally created by Thunderchild. and i decided to make it more detailed.... made most of the parts needed but so far i only worked further on the Bridge and prometheus
  15. 3D printing the SDF-1 Bridge in 1:285 scale. I didn't make the 3d model, but I did scale it to 1:285 and broke it into pieces to be printed on my raise3d N2 FDM printer. I did redesign the four large antenna that stick out to be replaced by rods. so there are insert holes in the model for that. so far I have printed out the back of the left side. I tried to print out the front part of the left side but I am having some issues. so I went ahead and started the right side. Here are some pictures showing various states of the print. I want to go in eventually and update the left side so it has all the inner layers of the bridge modeled out. There is a kickstarter I am backing for a new material called Polysmooth, that comes with a polysher device. They are going to make a transparent filament for this that will polish see through.
