  1. We have a new playa in valkyrie merchandising! Looks like a Non scale vf-1 statue is being developed by prime studios.. http://www.taghobby.com/archives/174330 Typically their statues are quite detailed, however arent cheap. Its also robotech. Whats the interest level?
  2. DapperMan

    Team Blaze

From the album: Macross CG Fan Art

Trying out custom textures, with three variations on the same theme. Texture was based off of one of the Blue Roses schemes created by Jung from the Macross World Forums for the 1/48 toy Valkyrie.
  3. Somehow I lost the ventral fin for the Vf-1s. Is there anyway to get a replacement via 3d printing or a spare someone has?
  4. I've gone through my stash and found a few kits I don't see myself building before I get old and can no longer see. Up for grabs from Hasegawa, are the following: Macross Zero - SV-51y Nora type - $30(AUD) SDF Macross - VF-1A SONICBIRDS - $25(AUD) This comes with Hasegawa VF-1 photo etch update set and some of the low-viz decals have been used, all high-viz are present Macross Frontier - VF25F/S - $30(AUD) And a random from Tamiya as well: Tamiya F-16CJ block 50 - $25(AUD) All the bags have been opened and the upper fuselage has some assembly started: The gun port, forward fuselage attached to rear, and top rear access panel. All kits were shipped from Japan without a plastic overwrap so are "opened" but bags are sealed except for the Tamiya kit. Boxes are all in good condition and all parts are accounted for except the decals on the VF-1 (as noted above). Shipping looks to be about $15 per item for regular parcel post, anywhere in Australia and $25 for Express Post. If it ends up cheaper, I'll refund the difference. Also happy to ship overseas but costs usually become prohibitive. For up to 1kg for instance, the rate is about $30. So in USD, that's something like this: $40 shipped for the small kits (The F-16 or the VF-1) $45 shipped for the bigger ones (the VF-25 and SV-51) And that just shows how terrible the exchange rate is at the moment for us poor Ozzies...
  5. I decided to go heavy with this no paint kit that I had built a couple of years ago, I was thinking it lacked character, finally it is complete.
  6. Hey everyone! Just wanted people who don't frequent the Building/Customizing Macross Models & Toys section of the forums to be aware that slowly but surely - items I've made and produced from Shapeways.com are becoming available to you. This started initially as my own custom pieces meant just for me - but as the items grew in ambition and complexity, I thought it a waste if no one else got the chance to have these in their collection. As mentioned above they came about in 2 of my own threads customizing a Queadluun Rau and a VF-11C; http://www.macrosswo...showtopic=35459 & http://www.macrosswo...showtopic=36209 - shapeways pieces and WIP at the end of the threads. Currently I've finished 99% of my DYRL to TV Queadluun Rau conversion pieces - with only a new hip/waist articulation to go and have finished wing-clip attachments for VF-11s to allow attachments of any current 1/60 missiles and the freshly made HMMs. I have also completed a 1/60 Queadluun Rhea Impact Cannon and pieces to attach to a Q.Rau and for a VF-25 to use as a rifle. More items will become available as I get them and inspect them personally for detail fidelity and material properties to ensure the best product possible. They are available here; http://www.shapeways.com/shops/RPG Without giving too much away - expect much more love for the VF-11, VF-0 and Zentran Mecha. I am open to suggestions or requests - but they're subject to my work load. I will update this thread when items become available. I will continue the above custom threads with the build-ups and eventual completions in their respective threads. Peace! EDIT: Trying to add a poll!
  7. I don't own every V2 VF-1 toy, and some I owned and sold but didn't take enough photos of. I'm hoping people can help me out by sharing some photos with me to solve my OCD. I'm looking of pictures of the boxes of the toys so I can do this for every release: I would also love to be able to provide this picture for every release: The first image is six photos stitched together in Photoshop. The second picture is a top down photo with the top clamshell removed to reduce glare (with all the parts in their proper positions), it's one photo for standard releases, two photos for bundled sets. Here's a list of what I need in no order 1) VF-1D Trainer 2) DYRL VF-1A Hikaru 3) DYRL VF-1A Hikaru with fast packs 4) DYRL VF-1A Max 5) DYRL VF-1A Max with fast packs 6) DYRL VF-1A Hayao 7) DYRL VF-1A Hayao with fast packs 8 VF-1J Hikaru with fast packs 9) VF-1S Focker without fast packs 10) VF-1S Focker with fast packs (first release) 11) VF-1S Hikaru without fast packs 12) VF-1S Hikaru with fast packs 13) VF-1S Hikaru with fast packs one year anniversary box (with flashlight) 14) VF-1S Focker TV version with fast packs 15) VF-1S Focker Low Vis (top down no clamshell shot only, have the box) 16) VF-1A Angelbirds 17) Arcadia VF-1S Hikaru with fast packs (regular release) Oh sweet sassy molassy, that's a lot! Any help you guys can provide will be greatly appreciated. You don't have to worry too much about the background since I'm using Photoshop to lift the box out. The less glare you can have on the box though the better and if you could get the box to be square with the camera that would be huge (so the top and bottom of the image are roughly the same size). I don't have much to offer you in return for your efforts other than the knowledge you helped make anymoon a better reference for folks. Photos can be sent via email to micronian_ace@anymoon.com but if you have a lot of what i'm looking for, sending one email per toy is probably best to avoid size issues. I'm hoping to post these photos in HD so no need to send extra large files over. No urgent rush on this, I plan on adding additional box photos each time there's a new Arcadia toy to add (like the upcoming PF VF-1J Jenius).
  8. In order to vent my excitement for Delta just around the corner I put together these Valk Replicas in KSP. Tell me what you guys think, did I even come close? 9. I wanted to display my 1/12 figures in a cockpit so I did my best to recreate it in scale with nanoblock building blocks
  10. After a long break from my last Macross/Mecha kit building (as well as my hobby life), Somehow I managed to come back to it! I've always wanted to make this custom build, but I had a couple of reasons I didn't start until now. The biggest reason was my fear of paint wearing and chipping on transforming kit, but I might have found some solution - which is not fully tested yet. Anyways, the below image is my project plan. Basically, my goal with this project is to make it like Hasegawa 1/48 or Club-M resin kit - while keeping the ability to transform between 3 modes add details where it's safe add lights where it's possible and make sense. use metal where it makes sense for texture or it need strength The base kit will be either VF-1J or VF-1S that I bought from HLJ during 'Panic buying frenzy' I haven't decided which one it will be yet. It could be My favorite first TV Hikaru VF-1J - but cockpit design is not as cool as movie ones, and doesn't go with cool launch arm (that I'm planning to build later..) Movie Focker VF-1S Super Valkyrie - All good except that I'm not a big fan of S head design Movie Hikaru VF-1S Strike - it's the final battle model - All good except that I'm not a big fan of S head design I'll decide as I go.. By the way, I've been buying some supplies and parts for this mod for a while now. Below is a some part of it So.. according to my plan, I'll be doing some major work on the wings, chest block, backpack(?) and cockpit area. So I've made silicon mold to start copying those parts. My workflow will be 'recast - cutout/rework - recast those parts'..etc Also I found a cool mechanical hand parts that I can use. Size is between 2 hand types that comes with Yamato 1/60. Design is a little different, so I need to work on that. That's it for now, but I started it at last!! I can only work on this over the weekend nights, so it will be very slow process..
  11. Hi guys, I've been a member for a long time, more prone to check out the amazing stuff done here than to openly start conversations, but my mind started thinking: now that we have the Flight-of-passage attraction over at Animal Kingdom, being a flight-sim of that animal, I started to wonder: Has anyone tried to make a scale 1:1, life-size replica of the VF-1 cockpit? I know of the one they made in Japan for the Macross Museum (video): Macross Museum life-size VF-1 Cockpit, but apart from that any fan initiative? it would be great to have one with all the light-up gizmos and gadgets. what do you guys think? Cheers!
  12. Hi guys! Here's another from the stash! As with my previous model (SV-51) this one have been sitting on the stash for too many years. The build was straight forward after building many vf-1, but the decals were another story. I believe that for being so much time on the box, when I started decaling there were many that literally disintegrated on the water. Lucky me, had many leftovers of previus valks. After all frustration, I believe it came up pretty decent. Now it's time to move to the vf-11 or 25. We'll see. Martin
  13. This is such a neat color scheme with great tail fin decals that I had to build one. Here's the result.
  14. From the album: Macross CG Fan Art

Using mechmaster’s Battroid model again, re-mapped to see how one of my custom Valkyrie fighter squads would look in Battroid mode. A useful exercise, as there were definite changes to be made that I will carry back to the fighters’ paint scheme. I also tried to reflect the personalities of the pilots in the poses. Textures based off of the Enigma scheme as seen in the plastic kit hobby mags.
  15. Hey guys, I bought two mass production TV VF-1A toys. Both were described as being brand new but one was... not. The good: It comes with everything, the exterior box is in great shape, and the toy looks brand new in fighter mode. The bad: One of the shoulder hinges is cracked.. While the toy can function perfectly in all three modes (and does, if you see a TV VF-1A in any of my videos, it's this toy), it's really hard to transform it from fighter mode where you have to yank the arm up over the stopper without having that arm pop off. If that happens, you have to continue transforming the arm to get the base of the shoulder where you want it, then get some pliers, push the pin down, put the arm back on, then push the pin back up. Obviously, getting a shapeways replacement would be an easier route to go if you plan on transforming the toy frequently. The ugly: The plastic shell the toy comes in is cracked (see the pick of the toy in the tray removed from the box, look at the top corners). It really doesn't affect anything and just proves Yamato's plastic shells do their jobs. The cool but not stock: Looks like the previous owner used a gundam marker to make the barrels pop out more on the gun. It's actually pretty cool but not stock: I'm asking $100 shipped in the continental US. Shipping includes tracking. If you would like to add insurance and/or pay with a business account that's fine assuming you pay the additional costs. Local pick up might be an option at a discount but I'm super busy so you're going to have to work with me on the pick-up time.
  16. DapperMan

    Gone Batty

From the album: Macross CG Fan Art

A revised version of something I posted on DeviantArt. Using mechmaster's VF-1 Battroids, I remapped the model somewhat to improve my VF-1S Fokker texture, and to create a Hikaru VF-1J texture. No weathering effects on them yet...
  17. From the album: Macross CG Fan Art

A pilot chats with her wingmen on her viewscreen during a night patrol. Cockpit render; flight suit and Valkyrie with very non-canon color schemes. Cockpit is still kind of low-poly, and a WIP.
  18. From the album: Macross CG Fan Art

For an exercise, I copied the composition of a photograph of a fighter on a carrier deck surrounded in catapult steam, and recreated it in 3D. I replaced all the elements with 3D Macross stuff and textures of my own creation (except for the gloves and the vests). It was good practice for lighting and composition skills. Valkyrie fighter and clothes modeled or extensively morphed in 3ds max and ZBrush. Inspired by a photo from Reuters/Corbis.
  19. Like the title says, looking for at least (2) sets, meaning (4) shoulders to repair both an old VF-1S and VF-1A. Also interested if you only have 1 set, or 1 shoulder - whatever as long as they are the original Yamato shoulders. Please PM me your price including PayPal fees and shipping to Michigan (48219). Thanks!!! -b.
  20. Hi!! Long time since my last post. I want to share my VE-1 Elintseeker, it´s been like 2 years since I finished it, it was in my shelf an eternit - like 10 years or so- waiting to be built), It has some scratch build here and there, specially in the cockpit. Let me know what you think guys.
  21. Started a request for re-issue of VF-1 PE parts. Do you want to get these parts? ====================================== To: jasminemodel2007@yahoo.com Hi Jasmine Models, How are you? I am one of the admin from the Facebook page "Macross Australia Club". In our discussions and also discussions from Macross World, there are calls for the reissue of VF1 PE parts. What is the minimum number to start production again? When we have the numbers, we can get a petition to get the quantities to start production again. Can you help us? And any plans for the new Macross models coming out now and very soon? I mean the VF31 and SV262 from Macross Delta. Thanks a lot. Await your reply. Best regards, xxxxx

  24. Hello everyone, I'm brand spanking new to this forum but I've been reading it for a little while now and think I have enough information to formulate a post of my own. I recently decided a want a Valkyrie kit to display but I only really want one so I'm a bit torn as what would be the single one for me. My favourite variant is the VF-1J but let's be honest the A,D and S are all real great. I'd like a Gerwalk kit because that's such an iconic feature of the Valkyries and the Hasagawa kits look awesome and have the A stance. My question about those which I haven't been able to work out from photos and forum posts is whether or not the Gerwalk Hasagawa has any articulation to allow for slightly different poses. Another question is I know Hasagawa kits don't really use color molding but fortunately I've read that the Hasagawa transfers are really comprehensive so that you don't need a heap. Do you think you'd get a good effect on a model kit with just spray coats for the white and black sections, panel lining and transfers? My local hobbystore has the Milla/Max Gerwalk Hasagawa kit and I'm wondering two thinks about it. Firslty does it come with parts to make Milla OR Max or Milla AND Max? The box didn't make this clear. As well as that, since the plastic is uncolored is there anything to stop me from buying that kit and just using white coats and then transfers to make it look Hikaru's/someone elses VF-1J? I'd love to hear what people think about the various VF-1J kits or any great VF-1 kits (either Gerwalk or fighter mode). Thanks
