  1. https://macross.fandom.com/wiki/DX_Chogokin ...is an example of a catalog/guide for DX Chogokin, but had any other site attempted a more inclusive tally of the various, non-KO 1/55 through 1/72 Valkyrie, Destroid and Misc.Vehicle brands? The most elusive aspect of toy data "appears" to be final production figures (counts) for the purpose of knowing rarity. Any insights to why, and how to investigate?
  2. Somehow I lost the ventral fin for the Vf-1s. Is there anyway to get a replacement via 3d printing or a spare someone has?
  3. I decided to go heavy with this no paint kit that I had built a couple of years ago, I was thinking it lacked character, finally it is complete.
  4. I am doing the celshading in an old beat up Yamato, I got it very yellowed and some parts missing but it is coming along. Some of the fotos have really bad lighting.
  5. Was working on cleaning up some schematics from the instructions of various Hasegawa SDF-1 kits for a project I'm working on, aaaaaand came to realize I don't super care for the proportions Hasegawa have used. The Yamato/Arcadia SDF-1, on the other hand, is about as close to perfection as you can get with its proportions, so I was wondering if anyone who owned one wouldn't mind taking some measurements for me. I don't need measurements for every little detail, just some of the general shapes so I can rework the orthographics from the Hasegawa instruction books into something that looks a lot nicer.

    Yamato/Arcadia Kits

so I've seen Yamato VF-1 and Arcadia VF-0 Armour kits... they seem to be a cheaper alternative to buying a finished version, and allow for customization more readily, but I have several questions: Are these resin or plastic? how do the joints hold up vs actual finished products? and most importantly: are they going to kit the 1/3000 SDF-1, and if so where do I lurk to get my hands on one?
  7. I don't write too often here, but this is directly linked to how often I get the opportunity to review Macross-related toys. I'm happy I managed to do something about this few days ago and created my video review of the GN-U Dou action figure line by Yamato, this time the VF-11B Thunderbolt. I hope you like this recording of mine
  8. Just wanted to see what everyone's preferred Valks are for each of the three modes. I'll start: Fighter: YF-30 Chronos Gerwalk: Super VF-25G Battroid: VF-31C
  9. Hi all, I'm kinda new here. I was telling a friend of mine that I've been hunting for a Yamato 1/60 Perf Trans VF-11C without luck and he recommended that I try my luck on here. If anyone is willing to part with theirs/or know where I can get one, I would really appreciate it! I've got a DX Chogokin YF-30 Chronos and a 1/60 Yamato Perf Trans Super Ostrich to trade if anyone is interested in them as well.
  10. Hi guys, I just finished my resin copy of the model kit of yamato fan racer 1/60. I share the finished work images. To show it, i adapt a connector of the bandai act 5 stage to be able to use it. I have a lot of work with the molds but I am very happy with the result. I copy the original kit of yamato that was bought by a friend on ebay for 200 dollars, very expensive for me. Regards!
  11. Not supporting this...but if this is prevalent with the Transformers/Gundam market it was only a matter of time. http://m.intl.taobao.com/search/search.html?q=macross KO
  12. Hello, long time lurker here. Several years ago, I purchased the Yamato 1/48 VF-1S with a set of super/strike parts. During that time I assembled everything togther and the jet booster back would not stay up in battroid mode. Eventually I just put it back in the box and forgot about it, was somewhat dissapointed overall. Now years later, and after reading some threads here, I was interested if anyone has any tips on getting the battroid mode to work with the jet booster packs? I've read some threads saying there were some flaws with the early 1/48 releases, or that maybe the transformation was done wrong. Also, I saw in the strike pars manual an addtional piece that could be used around the neck area, that was not in the box, but not clear what it was for (see pics). http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?app=gallery&album=807 Also, was the head of the 1/48 Valk supposed to be so loose?
  13. From the front page -- http://www.macrossworld.com/why-are-arcadia-products-so-expensive-by-mr-k/ I put up the translation just now, but it's for some reason the fourth entry down and you have to scroll past a lot of stuff, so unfortunately it might not get seen by many.

    Sunwards Valkyries

I'm sure older members here remember the Sunwards fiasco. It was basically Yamato's attempt in the early 2000s to circumvent Harmony Gold and try to get their 1/72 VF-1 product out there without using either Macross or Robotech branding. As an interesting comparison, Bandai did just that in the early 1990s with their European version of the 1/55 Super Valkyrie reissue, with no problems. I'm looking for any archived data on Sunwards, who was in charge, if anyone has their website saved, or even an image of the ad they took out in ToyFare, etc. Thei website is long gone and doesn't appear to be saved anywhere, and I cannot find any images, either. Most of the photos they used in their PR material are the stock Yamato photos anyway, but the phrasing they used to promote the toys I recall was very interesting.
  15. hello dear collector today i will share my collection who took 22 years to compose enjoy
  16. Hello everybody, This is my first thread, but I have a question that I feel only my fellow Macross fans could help to answer. I am an amateur 3D artist and as a hobby, I enjoy modeling Valkyries. I just started a new model of a VF-11 Thunderbolt. I want to make it as close to the line art as possible while still being able to transform it from fighter to battroid. For reference, I have Yamato's VF-11B and Hasegawa's injection kits. They look good and will work great, but I noticed when I started measuring them that the proportions don't match the specs given in all the documentation of the VF-11 series. Macross Chronicle and the Macross Mecha Manual say the VF-11 is 15.51 meters long with a wingspan of 11.2 meters. When I measure the artwork from the Hasegawa instruction sheet and scale it up (assuming a length of 15.51 meters), I get a wingspan of 14.37 meters. The Macross Mecha Manual line art gave me a wingspan of 13.23 meters. I have yet to measure the Yamato toy, but just eyeballing it, I can tell it has an incredibly wide wingspan. So my questions are: 1) Is the Macross Chronicle wingspan correct, or is it a known inaccuracy? 2) If it is correct, is it with the wings fully extended? 3) Is there an accurate portrayal of 15.51 x 11.2 dimensions anywhere, either in a kit, toy, or line art? 4) Did Yamato and Hasegawa make the wings too wide, or did they shorten the body? 5) Should I just ignore the specs and go with the Yamato or Hasegawa proportions? 6) Can anyone recommend an alternate resource for VF-11 schematics? My temptation is to go with the Yamato, since it compromises nicely for transformation, while maybe scaling down the width of the wings closer to the line art. Thoughts?
  17. Did a search, this didn't pop up so apologies if it's a repost. Interesting read http://www.comicvine.com/sdf-1/4055-55917/forums/sdf-vs-yamato-vs-death-star-vs-galactica-553998/

  21. I recently pulled out my v1 TRU CF VF-1A. First thing I noticed is that two of the missiles and the rear landing gear doors had yellowed to a shade that almost matches the CF brown! Second thing I noticed was that one of the clear lights in the wings had come loose. Then while transforming the head came off when the mounting plate cracked into two pieces. While trying to fix that one of the tabs that holds one side of the chest hinge in place broke. Some other little piece also flew off and hit me in the eye. No idea where that came from. Who knew I need to wear eye protection when playing with my toys! Guess I'll try to get it back together enough to get it into fighter mode then never transform it again. If you have any old v1s sitting around I suggest you not try to transform them ever again.
  22. I just bought the 30th Ann Hikaru VF-1S. One of the missile hard points snapped off. Do I glue it on? If so, what glue? Acetone weld? Anybody want to sell me a starboard wing? HELP!!!

    VF-11c

Hi guys, Anyone who owns this since 2010, how is it holding up? For a brand new one i would have to spend serious money so i'm hoping someone can deter me... :-P. Is the skull white plastic prone to yellowing? PS. I never wanted a VF-11c until i realized it was going to be even harder now getting one = macross collector's logic! D
