  1. Aaaand back to Macross! Maybe. So as I had stated in a previous thread, there were some outstanding Macross subjects still needing to be done, namely the Zentradi battle suits. I'm offering this subject as the next contender in the 1/72 series, which would have the following characteristics: - based on the TV series design -can be built with cockpit open or closed -in-scale with my previously-released Zentradi soldier, so will be quite a large kit (22.5-23cm tall!) Due to its size and the complexity of the sculpt, this would NOT be a cheap offering at 355.00 Canadian ($285 US approximately) but it would be... Glorious!!! As you have all put a $200 CAD deposit, there is the $155 CAD outstanding balance on the kits as well as the shipping fees which are as follows: $30.00 CAD up to 2 kits for USA/Canada $72.00 CAD for international shipping. Also very important: please add an extra 5% to the total to cover transaction fees if there are any. Generally PP will let you know before you send if there are fees and ask you if you will pay or make the recipient pay. I will commence casting on Monday once I test and group the molds for optimum casting.
  2. Hi guys! As promised, I am putting forth the final pitch to gauge interest in a 1/48 Mospeada Legioss soldier mode (hereinafter referred to as Buster: Henshin Robo) resin model to accompany the Crabb army which I made a little while ago. I would also make all three head variations: Blue, Green and Red to allow for more versatility in the collection. Kit would be free-pose type (build it in the desired pose only) although certain joints will allow for minimal re-posing. Decals and markings: I will do the artwork, which I will then offer as open-source so that you can download and print as you see fit. This is going to be quite a bit more of an undertaking than most of my previous models, simply by virtue of its geometric complexity so you'd be looking at a $292 Canadian price-point (about $222 US) plus shipping. I would need a minimum of 30 orders to get the ball rolling so ask yourselves: is Buster right for YOU?
  3. Emmm hope nothing contraversial about this post,on subject matter or its position in the toys section, which i found while trawling for more TN photos or vids... http://finesseproducts.bigcartel.com/category/skateboards
  4. Surprised no one posted these yet. http://www.figures.com/forums/news/49092-tf14-toynami-robotech.html Vinyl SD figures don't look too bad..

  7. Hello again!! This time I will share a fast project that was very fun to do, very enjoyable (Thanks Cap). I decided to do this baby crab with a simple paint scheme, with no weathering, only preshading. I replaced some of the resin joints for ball joints from kotobukiya to make it posseable, making easier the process of painting, assembling and correct the pose to the end. I also replaced the original eyeball and made my own from a clear piece of sprue. Now, I need to find time to finish the pinky space crab, wich is ready for receiving paint. I`m eager to work on that one. What do you think?
  8. I know years ago, I bought the Macross:SDF collection from that site, so i wanted people to be aware of this as others may have too. Hi everyone Unfortunately it looks like Robotech.com was hit by a security breach a few days ago. The attackers were able to access user accounts, email addresses and Robotech.com user account passwords. The attack may have also gotten access to billing and shipping addresses, but credit card numbers and other critical data were not affected as they are not stored on our servers. Sunwards Valkyries

I'm sure older members here remember the Sunwards fiasco. It was basically Yamato's attempt in the early 2000s to circumvent Harmony Gold and try to get their 1/72 VF-1 product out there without using either Macross or Robotech branding. As an interesting comparison, Bandai did just that in the early 1990s with their European version of the 1/55 Super Valkyrie reissue, with no problems. I'm looking for any archived data on Sunwards, who was in charge, if anyone has their website saved, or even an image of the ad they took out in ToyFare, etc. Thei website is long gone and doesn't appear to be saved anywhere, and I cannot find any images, either. Most of the photos they used in their PR material are the stock Yamato photos anyway, but the phrasing they used to promote the toys I recall was very interesting.

  11. After reading some of the comments in the Southern Cross topic and thinking for a while. For the first time I came to the conclusion or perhaps realization that a lot of the anime I like might be past its selling point for most. I grew up with this stuff and it’s still cool to me. Sometimes it feels like yesterday even though it was back in the 80s or early 90s. I still want items from these shows but the majority either don’t or grew out of it. Which is sad because current technology allows many anime toys, models, and figures to be produced at high quality. I even came up with a new project idea while thinking about one of these older anime shows. To me Southern Cross is great. I still want a hovertank, hovercycle, and Dana figure. I was listening to the music from Zillion and remembered that we never got the full series over here. I only have some of the VHS tapes. Something happened to my SEGA Master System games. I need to get them again. I still want well done Dangaio team ships that are transformable with fairly detailed figures. Accurate Voltron lions ever since it was mentioned in a topic here. So much should be coming out but it's almost like we get a tease and then a cancellation. I’m still upset about Rook’s cyclone / ride armor. There was a good Noriko kit from Gunbuster that never came out or is so rare I can’t find it. And of course figures of Minmay and others from Macross since the days of unpainted kits being the best you can get are long gone. Do you guys still want this stuff? Or are you satisfied with what we are getting?
  12. As I haven't posted here in some time, I have started an interest thread in a 1/72 Zentradi power suit project here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=42217 If there are still any members hoping for more of my 1/72 models, this is your chance!
  13. And so, we have come to the final 1/48 Inbit project: the Eager scout, hereinafter The Baby Crab. So here's what I had in mind: one kit would contain two complete Baby Crab kits w/beam cannons, as well as one space sled (booster.*) $115 for the set and I'd need 30 confirmed orders to get the project going. And so now I turn the microphone over to you. Who wants in? *Edited product description
  14. Can someone shed some light on this? I randomly came across the picture (and then tweet) while looking for VF-1 reference images. It is a tweet that reads: "Macross/Robotech Live Action 2016!!... #Macross #Robotech #MacrossDYRL #ClaudiaGrant #LisaHayes #HarmonyGold #SDF1" A link to the tweet. I'm guessing there still isn't a movie coming, but now I'm very curious about that image, as I've never seen it before. Any ideas?

"Botoru Battalion" Nosjadeul Ger, which is a color variation of the toy that Matchbox did to represent the Quaedluun Rau. But their other "Quadrano Battalion" colorway was the SDFM colorway for the male armors. Confusing, but it's a nice toy if you can pick it up for $20 or less. And by 'toy', I do mean 'toy': colorful, imaginative, sturdy, but not a collector model concerned with slavish attention to its source material. The box photos don't do the toy justice, unfortunately. I'd have probably bought one in the 80s if the prototype model didn't look so shabby and the box art (in this instance) look so rough & juvenile.

  17. Real Macross & Robotech Helmet with DOT standard riding on the street!
  18. The time has come for the heavy artillery! So here's my proposal: a resin kit in my usual style and quality that will have the following features: -free-pose build (build it in the pose you want), fingers too. -the option of having open or closed missile bays (shoulders) -translucent canopy with detailed cockpit interior (no pilot though) -can be built as the dude or chick model (just sand off the head antenna) I'll also look into making the cockpit hatch open with the seat deploy. Worst case you'll have to choose open or closed build versions if the hinge mechanism is too intrusive/complex. We'd be looking at a price-point of $215 Canadian bucks (about $200 US) and I would need 30 orders to get the ball rolling. Who's with me?? I will also accept payments in Bitcoins for the brave pioneers among you

  21. So, here we are. Again. Hot on the heels of the previous 1/48 Pinky Space Crab project, I offer you my next suggested modeling project: the 1/48 Inbit Gamo, or as I like to call him, Blueberry Crabs! The more I look at this thing, the more I realize that it can practically stand toe-to-toe with the Legioss and is probably more significant than the Legioss in terms of actual mass, long story short: it's biiiig. So tentatively, I'm thinking $160 for the 1/48 kit, which will be over 6.5" tall with a parts breakdown similar to the Gurab... So who's in? I need 30 orders minimum to get the ball rolling.

Recent case-fresh (!) purchase - Harmony Gold edition of Matchbox Nosjadeul-Ger toy: "Quadrono Batallion" - female Zentraedi, I guess based on the name given to female armor in the Robotech adaptation, since Matchbox didn't make a Q-Rau toy. These aren't so bad, really. They were actually designed & originally tooled-up by a Japanese company. The rendering reminds me a lot of Clover's last few Dunbine toys. The colors of this edition differ a bit from the earlier Matchbox edition, and the later ExoSquad edition.

They don't fit well to the compound curves in many surfaces on the toy. But the joints are nice & tight.
