  1. I kinda got at this in my AVF Upgrade thread, and it's probably been on here at least a thousand times. But what's your favorite Macross Mecha of all time? I'll kick it off, I love the YF-19/VF-19A. It's got a dangerous sensuality to it. It's what my dad would call a sexy airplane (he's an old F106 driver). I like the forward swept wings, and the way it becomes an awesome robot. I asked mecha, so for you destroid lovers, you're welcome too. The destroids are interesting, being a battletech guy, I have a soft spot for them. I'd actually see a use for destroids, especially when given the existence of Macronized Zentradi elsewhere in the Macross universe. Variable fighters are expensive and there are only so many of them. I think destroids are highly underrated. What about y'all?
  2. I translated another Miyatake interview, this time focusing on ORGUSS. I put this up on the front page, but the auto-link discussion thread that is usually created ended up being buried in the "Collectors" forum for some reason. Anyway, check it out: http://www.macrossworld.com/kazutaka-miyatake-interview-from-megahouse-variable-action-hi-spec-orguss/
  3. Aldnoah.Zero (アルドノア・ゼロ Arudonoa Zero) is an upcoming anime television series produced by Nitroplus and animated by A-1 Pictures and TROYCA. The anime is scheduled to air from July 2014. It will be directed by Ei Aoki and written by Gen Urobuchi, who previously collaborated on the Fate/Zero anime. The main cast was announced by Ei Aoki at AnimeJapan on March 22, 2014.
  4. Discotek Media just announced today on their Facebook page that they will bring Robot Carnival (ロボット・カーニバル) back into the U.S. anime market. This means that the American general public will see the original Japanese version for the first time ever.
  5. Hi guys! As promised, I am starting a thread to gauge interest in a 1/48 Mospeada Legioss soldier mode (hereinafter referred to as Buster: Henshin Robo) resin model to accompany the Crabb army which I made a little while ago. I would also make all three head variations: Blue, Green and Redd to allow for more versatility in the collection. Kit would be free-pose type (build it in the desired pose only) although certain joints will allow for minimal re-posing. Decals and markings: I will do the artwork, which I will then offer as open-source so that you can download and print as you see fit. This is going to be quite a bit more of an undertaking than most of my previous models, simply by virtue of its geometric complexity so you'd be looking at a $265 Canadian price-point (about $218 US) plus shipping. I would need a minimum of 30 orders to get the ball rolling so ask yourselves: is Buster right for YOU?

  13. The time has come for the heavy artillery! So here's my proposal: a resin kit in my usual style and quality that will have the following features: -free-pose build (build it in the pose you want), fingers too. -the option of having open or closed missile bays (shoulders) -translucent canopy with detailed cockpit interior (no pilot though) -can be built as the dude or chick model (just sand off the head antenna) I'll also look into making the cockpit hatch open with the seat deploy. Worst case you'll have to choose open or closed build versions if the hinge mechanism is too intrusive/complex. We'd be looking at a price-point of $215 Canadian bucks (about $200 US) and I would need 30 orders to get the ball rolling. Who's with me?? I will also accept payments in Bitcoins for the brave pioneers among you
  14. So, here we are. Again. Hot on the heels of the previous 1/48 Pinky Space Crab project, I offer you my next suggested modeling project: the 1/48 Inbit Gamo, or as I like to call him, Blueberry Crabs! The more I look at this thing, the more I realize that it can practically stand toe-to-toe with the Legioss and is probably more significant than the Legioss in terms of actual mass, long story short: it's biiiig. So tentatively, I'm thinking $160 for the 1/48 kit, which will be over 6.5" tall with a parts breakdown similar to the Gurab... So who's in? I need 30 orders minimum to get the ball rolling.
  15. It may have a name that sounds like a gay porn but it's actually just an anime video game. Just watched a video about a game called Astebreed and it's a very visually rich shoot 'em up in the anime style we've all come to know and love. The game is built in 3D with game play changing from side-scroller shooter to top-down shooter to 3rd person shooter as you move throughout the environment. Lots of trademark visuals, including a giant robot with a sword, lots of energy weapons and of course, an Itano circus attack. Check it out: http://www.giantbomb.com/videos/quick-look-astebreed/2300-9194/ Not sure if I'm totally sold on the game, but that name sure is giving me a chubby
  16. I figured I'd start a thread about the VF-2SS Valkyrie from Macross II. I'm attempting to sneak in some Macross II profiles for the M3 before Macross Frontier gets underway in April. I'm very unfamiliar with Macross II. Unlike all the other Macross shows, I've only ever seen Macross II once and it was many years ago. Needless to say I didn't care for it, but I'm building a VF-2SS profile now so I'll need a bit of help. First off, I need to know if I got the colors correct. All the pictures online are very deceiving about the VF-2SS and some seem to give the fighter a blue tint. SO I've created a small comparison picture that I'd like fans to review and comment. EDIT Removed original pictures and inserted the most up to date color set Aside from the color, I'd like some information about the VF-2SS. There is next to nothing as far as statistics or official write ups, so the any official information you can provide would be appreciated. hellohikaru and Jedi Knight made a poster that contained some information, can they (or anyone else) confirm if these statistics are canon? Basically, I'm looking for facts and trivia I can build into a "Macross Mecha Manual-like" profile. What did the VF-2SS do? What are its capabilities? What is more advanced than previous generation Valkyries? If You've read the profiles on the M3, try to think about the kind of information that would fit into such a profile for the VF-2SS. Any help is appreciated.

  18. Some pics of non-Macross related figures I took at Wonderfest today. In particular, I thought the Megahouse Dragon Crown figures looked amazing. And the Megadrive Megatron is, of course, a must-buy ;-) (EDIT: The uploader seems to have thrown the order of the pics into a bit of a mess, sorry!)
  19. Can anyone of you guys help me out with some head scratchers? I heard Eva-04 was only lightly mentioned in the manga (not in my hands yet) and in the series, I haven't watched the series for ages and was wondering wether some wise guy knows where it was developed, and why and how and what happened to the silver monster? Was it mass produced? Was this the Russian Eva produced/researched type? Maybe it was another country that produced these, no idea. I thought the Eva-03 was american. Gah! Help please! Specifically wanted info on wether i should invest in buying the SOC/Revotech models. They do look cool, and i need an Eva to fit in my ultra secret sick fantasy of the only Eva-04 coming in to aid Asuka in her (Eva-02's ) dying moments during the Eva-05 rampage.
  20. I had a couple of Dorvack (or Dorvack inspired) kits when I was a kid. Now that I have some better skills, I'd like to try them again. One was a fully variable Calibur (jeep mecha) Not sure on the scale, maybe 72nd? The other was an armored suit with flying sled. This one had LEDs for the cannons and the main sled gun was spring loaded. Any help in identifying what these kits might have been would be great. Again, these were styrene kits, not toys. The only Calibur kit I have googled up is a jeep only mode, but the one I had was fully variable. Thanks in advance
  21. http://page.freett.com/grape2004/index.htm Any fans of the old Sega Saturn games or good mecha games in general should totally check out this game! It looks a little dated (rather intentionally as it uses the 3d models from the Saturn games) but plays incredibly well and is a lot of fun! Forgot about those other games where the robots just fire ineffectual pew pews, your HIGH-MACS has a real tank gun, rockets, and missiles! I'm serious this game is freakin' amazing! While it is a Japanese game most of the menus are in English.
  22. Hello. This has been a quest of mine fore years... The Sakura Wars figures by Medicom, released in 1999 are great toys that have been tossed aside by many for some unknown reason... but man, I think they're cool. After about two years of looking, I managed to find five of them. There are seven.... I am looking for Sakura's (pink) and Sawada Hiroshi's (white mail away exclusive). They are quite posable, big, have light-up eyes and say their power-up slogans when you press the button on the top. Very nice... Can anyone help me track down these figures?
  23. So we finally have a teaser trailer of sorts. http://www.animenews...-promo-streamed Ship designs are nicely detailed, although I still say the head looks like a cross between Tiger & Bunny and Aquarion ...
  24. I do not know if anybody else has been watching, but as of last week there is a new mecha series with character designs by that Hirai guy everyone at /m/ complains about so.... Yeah. Anybody watch it?
