Here is an interesting item I found at the recent Comic Market 91. It is an expansion for a fan made table top pen and paper tank battle simulation called "Tankhunter". This expansion adds Mecha from Macross, but also borrows some units from Southern Cross and Megazone 23, but renames some them to fit in the Macross universe. The artwork is also borrowed from various Robotech sources.

a friend of mine bought this kit... made a rush job of putting it together and "accidentally" glued some of the parts without first painting the hard to reach parts.. he then gave it to me and said "fix" it.... i instead bought it from him for a symbolic price... i needed a couple of days of from my other build, and this was a perfect little project to do so with... i dissembled the parts as much as possible... then primed and preshaded the parts... didnt like the flat grey some of the parts was to have... so i painted them black, and then used Tamiya weathering master Dark gun metal and snow. gave them a very thin coat of Matt Varnish... another layer of snow and Matt Varnish next was two thin layers of the "desert pale sand" and "muddy dark green" that i mixed now some detailing with black ink....

Hi folks! It's been quite a while since I posted in the modeling section, so I figured that I was long overdue. My intention was to offer a re-issue of the SPALTAN kit, seeing as how the big model firms don't seem to want to touch our beloved green goblin. I'd need 15 orders to get the project off the ground, the kits would be $140 apiece. Any takers?

I'm talking physically, not personality-wise. I'm making this project http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=43932 of a more realistic approach to the YF-19, and the next thing in queue is to create Isamu himself. So I want to find good references for his face to make a realistic looking one, not Anime-like. I'm not too worried about the body because he'll be wearing his pilot suit. According to the Macross wiki, I need to find a fairly young (25 y/o, sorry Bryan Cranston!!) Japanese-European slim guy with angular features. I wouldn't worry about the hair because only God knows how the hell I'm going to do that in Blender. There's a local modeling competition in less than 3 weeks. Suddenly felt the need to enter into the scifi portion of the competition. Last year a friend of mine entered with a very basic HG gunpla kit he did in candy colors. I think I can top that! My idea is to use this wave 1/100 VF-1A I got from a convention a couple years ago and turn it into some kind of a low-viz scheme with some kind of a Macross First twist like Hikaru's VF-1J, not so crazy though. But I also thought I saw someone did a custom job on their take of the brownie but I can't find it anywhere. I'd like too if possible try to even replicate that. I may even go as far as to customize my own decals since I'm a bit of a graphic designer and we got excellent printers so long as I'm not doing white. Any suggestions you guys got to help make this kit stand out would be appreciative as I'd like to take home my first trophy. Couple things I'm curious over are seamline removal since there's 4 locations I'd like to fix in the nosecone and fuselage and than the underbelly at the knees up to the thighs. Also how to properly paint the canopy if there are good easy to follow tutorials. Some of the ones I found on youtube seem to have some really bad dislikes for some reason.

Our "Women Of Robotech" panel is tentatively scheduled to kick off Otakon 2016 at 9AM on Friday the 12th. The current schedule posted is just a preview schedule and subject to change. Keep an eye out for updates. This year, we are opening with a Japanese version of the 1970s Wonder Woman TV theme sung by the Tirolian Muses. We'll explore how animation changed over the years, Robotech's importance in the 80s, and focus on the roles the women portrayed in each chapter of the series. www.Otakon.com -
