Alright, so I've got this little Macross project going that I'm actually making huge strides in. It's called "Macross Elysium"; a fan comic made by myself that features original characters and an original setting. The prologue itself has already been uploaded onto deviantart and tumblr. The first part is a little rough because I was working with a lower quality microphone and my voice acting was kinda goofy at times, but part two is much longer with much improved quality all around! After a long break from my last Macross/Mecha kit building (as well as my hobby life), Somehow I managed to come back to it! I've always wanted to make this custom build, but I had a couple of reasons I didn't start until now. The biggest reason was my fear of paint wearing and chipping on transforming kit, but I might have found some solution - which is not fully tested yet. Anyways, the below image is my project plan. Basically, my goal with this project is to make it like Hasegawa 1/48 or Club-M resin kit - while keeping the ability to transform between 3 modes add details where it's safe add lights where it's possible and make sense. use metal where it makes sense for texture or it need strength The base kit will be either VF-1J or VF-1S that I bought from HLJ during 'Panic buying frenzy' I haven't decided which one it will be yet. It could be My favorite first TV Hikaru VF-1J - but cockpit design is not as cool as movie ones, and doesn't go with cool launch arm (that I'm planning to build later..) Movie Focker VF-1S Super Valkyrie - All good except that I'm not a big fan of S head design Movie Hikaru VF-1S Strike - it's the final battle model - All good except that I'm not a big fan of S head design I'll decide as I go.. By the way, I've been buying some supplies and parts for this mod for a while now. Below is a some part of it So.. according to my plan, I'll be doing some major work on the wings, chest block, backpack(?) and cockpit area. So I've made silicon mold to start copying those parts. My workflow will be 'recast - cutout/rework - recast those parts'..etc Also I found a cool mechanical hand parts that I can use. Size is between 2 hand types that comes with Yamato 1/60. Design is a little different, so I need to work on that. That's it for now, but I started it at last!! I can only work on this over the weekend nights, so it will be very slow process..

i might aswell make this an actual thread... i have have started my very first Diorama, and its is the SDF-1 situated on macross island, its will be in scale 1/8000. the SDF-1 model im using in the diorama is a Bandai 1/8000 storm attacker kit, i converted into Cruiser mode, i had to remodel some of the parts since they where not to scale or was simply the wrong shape, changes made to parts where: Main cannon (gave it more bulk and more details) Main Cannon connector (changed shape completely) bridge boom (made from scratch) bridge (needed separation and details) main thrusters (looked to much like feet, changed shape and added details) the diorama rough sketch is pretty much done, need more roads though.

had this kit laying around... and decided to work on it! the pilot figure in the box horrified me.... looked more like a girlish boy than a well proportioned woman... so..... i...... the arms were imo out of proportions... did something about that.. also started on the "cockpit" and lots of things where "off" started work on that too.... will make room for the pilot.... all of her... will also add as much of the interior as i can.... also missile bays on shoulder will be made bigger...
