  1. Lol, I just went through the entirety of this thread on hard light. Someone needs to school Trashman On another note, I also think that the gunpod should be larger, as it appeared fairly imposing in all the shots I saw from the show.
  2. Yep, Just read the FX mod forums. 9CCN bypassed the built in race limit, BUT, they wont tell anyone how they did it, and we have no visual proof. I'm thinking they pulled some jury rigged branching research tree like a few other mods. Thing is, immediatley after doing this they created another mod that allows you to completely customize the weapons and systems of a ship before construction, which in and of itself is an amazing breakthrough...
  3. Good point. I keep forgetting animators work in a time frame, and so cant be bothered drawing each individual impact. But it cant be denied that the Zentradi pilot stepped out of his pod looking extremely beat to hell.
  4. Good to hear from you shadow. BTW, some mod team somewhere did bypass the race limit without any form of in-match build tree tomfoolery. I think it ws the chinese dudes behind FX. I dont know the specifics, but you could take a look over at relicnews, they might have an idea. Not that it matters to me, I always thought the protodeviln and thier zombie pilots looked kinda stupid.
  5. Even though Hikaru discharged practically his entire ammo load AT the Regult, I seem to recall only a few of the rounds actually making contact. If I'm wrong, please correct me, but the way I remember it he score somewhere on the order of four or five ACTUAL hits, which I think took off the main guns or something else that was vital. Plus, the pilot did look a little shredded when he got out, just not mortally wounded.
  6. Valks in melee combat? I think it's entirely plausible. With how tough VFs are supposed to be, I've always kinda wondered why they seemed to never close with the enemy and grapple...especially when it came to battlepods. though we do see a fair amount of hand to hand in plus and frontier. Hell, the VF-25 enven carries aoversized combat knife standard issue. On the subject of beam sabers and the like... yeah, lets not. One of my favorite things about Valks is that they are, for the most part, grounded in reality. Introduce laser oriented close combat weapons and not only have you made it too Gundam, you've made it too unbelievable. I see nothing wrong with a Sword with a PPB field, provided it will fit on the plane. Of course, these are Your designs. Half of the fun of such an endeavor is throwing beleivablity out the window.
  7. Sciz, thats the second gears of war reference in a week. I take you're in the middle of a playthrough? I second the Human on Zentradi fleet idea. I've always wondered how far the integration went.
  8. If I remember correctley, after that first, somewhat disasterous transformation, they rebuilt macross city to somehow orient itself with the ship depending on the mode. Well, I think that was how it worked. I distinctley remember tiers...
  9. There was a mod team somewhere that managed to bypass the race limit. I'll see if I can find out who it was. In fact, I think the only wierd coding issue that was never resolved was giving resourcers the ability to attack - it crashes the game as soon as they try to shoot something.
  10. Well, I stand corrected on how the ion cannons look on zentradi ships. That looked really damn good. Props. Question, more out of curiosity than anything else: if the vergnitz is going to function as the Zentradi mothership, will you be capable of building more than one? Also, do you plan on messing with sound effects at all?
  11. As stated above, I would like to know what the advanteges of GERWALK mode are in the mod. Given the constraints of the engine, I highly doubt that the mode will be used to it's fullest extent, like picking up objects, so it seems to me like it would be little more than a slower, turret-like version of the fighter. In my experience stability is more important than completionism, but its inevitably up to you. the bug doesnt sound game breaking, so a choice of downloads might be good, provided its not too much work.
  12. There is, (PDS Mod did it for several custom missions) but I dont remeber the exact science of it. I think the lod team leader said it was ridiculously labor intensive and somewhat imprecise, so I dont know how well that would work for you. interesting idea though. ... I wonder if shadow could solve the transformation issue for FS, too
  13. Hey shadow, loving the screen shots, but I seem to recall that zentradi beam weapons were relatively fast firing, with a short beam. Granted, this could just be extremely poor memory on my part, but you could try editing the higgaran pulsar weapon to have greater range and firepower, probably have to ghange the size of the effect too... Either way, what you have done here is excellent and I appluad you for having figured out the transformations, since that seemed to be the killer of the many macross/robotech mods that popped up on relicnews.
