  1. anybody wanna go halfway on one for my racecar? I wouldn't mind repainting the Minion into a Skull Leader 001 scheme.
  2. I need some help and advice. Next AnimeBoston I might be hosting a workshop on Gunpla, so I need some recommendations on where to buy a bulk mass of kits cheap. I'm talking roughly 40-100 HGUC level kits. Is it possible to by direct from Bandai? Do you guys think it would be good to get an assortment of kits, or should they all be the same? I'm debating wether I want this to be a by the book instructional for newbies, or a free for all. This whole idea grew from the Building Gundams With Overnight Security panel I help with every year and the chats I had with them. Apparently a lot of people have been asking for a larger workshop like the yearly plushy one they have, and I want to help back it.
  3. It could be several dirty things, but since its pink... Melona.
  4. I'm currently watching Fang of The Sun Dougram. At about 8 episodes in all I can say is this is some epic hard sci-fi military action going on. While some might not like it because there isn't mecha blowing up every five seconds like some other shows I really like the deliberate pacing and effort it's putting into telling its story. This isn't your typical kid gets shoved into the cockpit of an invincible mecha and saves the day, this is a story about a kid who is comes face to face with the realities of politics, war, family, social standing and has to choose between what is expected from him, and what is the right thing to do even if it means turning his back on the people he loves. As far as "real robot" mecha series go this may be the most grounded one I've seen in a while with a heavy focus on combined arms and battlefield tactics winning over the hero charging in and blasting away everything ala gundam. I'm not sure if it will stay that way now that the titular Dougram has been introduced.
  5. um... what's the thingy sticking out of the thingy in the spoiler picks supposed to be?
  6. Even with all the "useless sex junk" or maybe you just get you jollys from over the top mindless violence?
  7. Spare me the B.S. Syd Mead didn't do anything without first getting approval from Tomino. The Turn A went through several redesigns during production of the show, and Tomino liked the original first concept enough to insert it in as the Sumo mobile suit. The Sumo design wise, isn't that far off from what the final Turn A design is, so this "free reign", "checked on him sooner", "its the gaijins fault" is utter crap. Keep in mind Tomino is the guy that gave us Xabungle's craziness, V Gundam's Bikini Bazooka Squad, and King Gainer's monkey dance. Quess is also his fault too so It wouldn't surprise me too muchif the mustache was his fault too.
  8. I do blame him. He's the one that hired Syd Mead showed him a Gundam and said... "This is a gundam. Make something like this, but not like this!" then approved the final design. So yeah its all on his head, so he shouldn't be the one to talk.
  9. Girls Und Panzer LIVE ACTION!!!
  10. You know they took out the EASHL and the GM connected modes out of the PS4 and XBone right?
  11. Like I said in the tank thread the fact that Shia Lebouf is in this and is playing the stereotypical whiny pacifist coward type has me worried. Good news is they dragged both the last working Tiger and a Sherman "Easy 8" out of Bovington to shoot the tank battle scenes.
  12. Its like Rob Liefeld tried to design a Cammy figure then gave her the sword from that W.I.L.D.Cats chick he used to draw for the hell of it.
  13. I can agree to this to a certain extent, but I think its really all about the setting and the threat you face. For example if I'm being chased by a psycho armed with only a knife and I pass a kid's room that has a little league aluminum bat in it that I'm not allowed to pick up, or pass a kitchen that has to be full of knives but I can't have one of my own, or that chainsaw in the garage, that is what I call B.S.On the other hand if the setting involves surviving a plane crash in the wild there's no way I'm taking down a Grizzly bear with a pocket knife. I think Alien: Isolation is taking the later view in regards to its setting and threat. Okay yeah the Colonial Marines had effective weapons, but they were the military! By setting it on a civilian ship its at least believeable you aren't going to have access to military grade weaponry, and we all saw how that turned out in the first film.
  14. I just recently started playing Prime Directive, the Star Trek RPG after a co-worker invited me into his group to replace their engineer. This is my first real RPG experience as I don't have many friends into RPGs.
  15. Just got the results back from the track I finished 13th out of 20. Not bad for my second race of my career. The Minion(Mineon?) lives to see another race so I'm happy.
  16. Well then we do agree on some things regarding the Bond franchise. Well except for OHMSS anyway. That's another argument I really don't feel like rehashing.
  17. Yeah I don't want to rehash that old argument, or our differing opinion Daniel Craig's movies. Humor me though, outside of those two what do you consider the good one's? From Russia with Love? License to Kill?
  18. Not really, Goldeneye was one of the better all around Bond films period, which makes the Brosnan films that came after all the more of a let down.
  19. I FINISHED!!!! Lapped and nowhere the top 5, but I still finished and not in last place! I actually feel pretty good even if the handling was still off.
  20. I'm at Hudson Speedway getting ready for my next race. Of the last two races,, the first the car wasn't fully repaired, and the second got rained out. Am I nervous? Yes, but I've grown up around this track all my life and know it better than Star Speedway.
  21. I went to see Expendables tonight and caught the trailer for the film Fury. Its about a Sherman tank crew fighting one of the last battles of the european theater in April of 1945.... GODDAMMIT! Its bad enough it looks like Saving Private Ryan in a tank, but they cast Shia Lebouf as the whiny douche pacifist that doesn't want to fight, and correct me if I'm wrong but that's a Sherman Firefly right? I feel bad this film drags the poor sole remaining functional Tiger out of Bovington for authenticity, but might have screwed up the Sherman. EDIT:Nevermind, it's Bovington's "easy 8" Sherman.
  22. If this is true, and its a BIG if, it would appear that Disney is doing all the leg work on this so why wouldn't FOX cut a deal and cash in on huge seller when their not absorbing the cost of producing it? I also wouldn't be surprised if there was a quid pro quo deal going on behind the scenes involving some other Disney/Marvel properties that we won't hear about later on if this all pans out.
