  1. I love it!!!!

Sure it has some kiddie humor (like the pop rocks and soda bit :D )

But it is like one of the last few shows I can find on tv today that's not trying to be a public service message. . .

Just blatant ass kicking from start to finish!!!

I also love Coop's cocky attitude about all situations no matter what!!!!

He has that thing wired for whatever but then the unthinkable happens :D:p !!!!!!

  2. As a kid. . .

    1) TF's Gen-1

    2) G.I. Joe (3/34) till about '88

    3) M.A.S.K 1st & racing series

    As a big kid. . .

    1) Macross

    2) TF's Gen-1, Binaltechs, MP Optimus Prime (Japanese only)

    3) Microman (late 90's till now)

    4) Kamen Rider (Agito, Ryuki)

    5) Metal Gear Solid (large & small)

    6) AMDriver

    And various others :D:lol:

  3. Ok, what is the beef?

We all have to realize that we have lost our insider. ;)

Sure he's the man on the boards but he can't get the goods like he used to.

Hell, I can see it in his posts.

When he was in it was sweet but now, things have changed without his/our input

Yamato is not getting the ideas from fans it used to and it might hurt them in the long run.

Sure the product may not be up to everyone's liking but it is still being produced.

Think about it, if the VF-0 wasn't being made some of us here would be pissed.

(There are a few of us here waiting for the VF-4 and VF-2ss  )

If it does hit the streets as is, I'm sure the brainiacs here would find a way to fix it.

Me, I like just getting the damn things It's my hobby.

If they make something I don't want or like it stays at the store.

    -Has the quality gone south?

IMHO, not really. It did get better with the 1/48, but change the product and you have new bugs to fix.

-If they switch to a bigger scale would it get better?

That is a stronger possiblity. But the time on the drawing board would take longer.

And the price would go up.

-Is it possible they have too much on their plate due to fan requests?

Hell yeah!! Again as we all know they are not Bandai or whoever, so they need to take it a step at a time for now. (Even after merging with Konami.) Get a few more notches on the belt then go for the gusto.

  4. Hell just do some shoping around, I get my 1/48s for about $95.00 each.

    Let's see. . .

    Hikaru- VF-1A+S= 2

    Roy- VF-1S= 1

    Max- VF-1A= 1

    Low Vis VF-1A= 2

    Total= $570

    VF-1J FP sets $145 each

    Hikaru VF-1J(FP)= 1

    Max VF-1J(FP)= 1

    Millia VF-1J(FP)= 1

    Total= $435

And I have about 9 FP Kits at about $55 each

    Total= $495

    Bottomline total $1560 :o

If you look at the big picture, of what could've been (the old 1/55s) that's cheap. . .

Now if we go in to 1/60s

I lose count (at least one of each) B))

    At about $55 each. . .

:( (I wish I were home to see them) :(

But you have to remember I picked them up first hand at TRU Japan. . .

Just shop around, and the prices will drop. . .

Hell, I used to sell here on MW at TRU Japan prices. . .

    :D:D:D:D

  5. B)) I don't know about anyone else but I think, this looks to be one of the truly badass toylines to hit the streets!!! B))

Its got a little of everything in it. . .

Highly posable figs- Check. . .

    Cool designs- Check. . .

Vehicles that become battle armour- Check. . .

    Constant upgrades- Check. . .

    Semi-interchangible weapons- Check. . .

And they look quite durable too. . .

    So yeah I'm in . . . ;)

  6. Yay, Darkwind's back!

Haven't heard from you in ages. Guess you've been away in some nasty places blowing stuff upĀ

The FAST Packs will be a nice homecoming present for you.

    Graham

It's nice to be missed, and even better to be welcomed back into the fold.

And yes those fast packs will be a very nice gift when I get back to Japan. . .

Along with a few other things I left behind ;) . . .

Well this time I'm signing in from Brisbane, Aust.

And in November, I will be reporting from Hong Kong.

Hope to see you there Graham, may be we can do some shopping.

Or you can at least point me in the direction. :D

  7. these are the toys I've being wanting and dreaming of since I first saw DYRL in 1986. They are absolutely beautiful. The design, quality and finishing is first rate.

Boy, with the VT-1 & VE-1 as well, it sure was an expensive weekend. Anyway, here's a few quick pics.

    Graham

    Graham. . .

Tell me about it. I felt the same way after I saw DYRL too!!!

I've been hoping to get a set to display in a pre-launch scene.

And now Yamato comes thorugh with outstanding toys. . .

Can't wait to get back home in 30 days.

Then, the fun will really begin!!!!

And my wife is still recovering from the price tag :lol:
