  1. I am really hoping for the VF-11 to see light also.

    Why?

    -Full Armour set (with BFGunpod)

    -FAST Pack set

    -Bayonette

    etc. . . . .

To tell truth; Yamato should ship it with the Fast Packs the first time around.

    Then the rockets.

And last the Full Armour set. . .

But if we only get the jet alone and nothing else its better than nothing. . .

  2. I visited the Anime Store in San Diego before dinner last night and saw the MP-04 Optimus Prime. I really love the box and the photos they've printed on it. I love the varnish coat too and foiling they did on some of the fonts. It's a big-ass box!...selling for $199.99 USD

I've preordered mine through tmpanime.com...but have any of you peeps, who ordered, receive your optimus prime yet?

Sorry I did not have a digital camera at the time to take photos.

Can someone post up an open box photos?

    Which store and where?

I live in san diego and I'm trying to find one cheaper without shippng. . . .

  3. heh, thanks for the thaught Sketch :)

they actualy insisted that water tight didn't mean air tight when i was there, but like i said, that just doesn't make sense.

like i said though, who knows, maybe the people on them ships just didn't follow procedures correctly in some way and had left the hatches open, or never sealed the vent shafts off (as it get HOT AS FU*& in parts of the ship without the vents open!! + it cuts off a LOT of your oxygen flow, we had half the ship without power at one point while i was in the Gulf a Mexico for a pre-deployment run, no power, no water, no air flow, it sucked to be there, of 8 generators we had 1 working! and they STILL deployed that thing!! ugh...)

Anywho, it could be that, or the translation error as you mentioned.

but there has to be a better explanation than "they just died because it was in space"

since military procedure would've saved the lot of them, or neglecting it would've killed them.

Lucky for MW we have a U.S. Navy Damage Controlman on board. . . ;)

    Ok, it's like this basically. . .

Watertight integrity= the ability to restrict water from entering or escaping a space. (mind you it is not always perfect)

Airtight = the ability to seal as space to where NO air/gases are moved into or from said space/compartment.

Ships themselves are not built to be airtight but, primarily watertight. (I know, some of you might be thinking, WELL DUH!!!)

When ship's are built they are checked using an air test pressure fitting to see if each space below the waterline are as close to airtight as possible but, that is never the standard.

    Why you ask???

Well due to the wiring, venilation, pipeing and drainage systems that run throughout the ship.

These systems are the lifelines of each vesssel, they need freedom to reach from the bridge to the engineroom and everywhere in between.

Also each time a ship undergoes a refit/addition these may also become degraded/reconfigured.

Note: Even when there is a fire inside the ship's skin, 100% airtight smoke control is not acheved.

Now a ship has levels of material condition of readiness, Zebra is the highest for battle/presevervation (ie. missle attacks, gun fire, engineroom casualities, bad weather). . .

But a small step further, Circle William is set for a CBR-D attack, it entails securing ventilation to set pathways that allow it to be filtered, reducing/removing toxins coming in the ship which could kill or incapacitate the crew.

We never knew when/if we were going to be hit, we just trained to meet the threat asap.

Accept losses and damage by working around it, rescue who we can, and effect repairs as soon as it was safe/feasible to do so.

    (TV SDF Macross)

Now if you look at the situation those ships were in, sure they were ready to go to battle, but not a space battle in a moments notice.

Hell, The SDF-1 didn't even know they were going to project such a large fold bubble, so there was no time to warn the other vessels in it's range.

    (Just imagine that transmission. . . :lol::D

SDF-1: "Daedules, Promethius!!! This is SDF-1 you're coming with us!!!"

Fleet ADM: "Say again??? Whatever you're smoking it better be for 'medicinal purposes' Gloval!!!!" )

(Remember, it was a last ditch effort to use the fold system -also, it had never been tested onboard the SDF-1. . .)

SOP usually calls for that type of threat/contingentcy to be forseen to a degree and reached in a set time limit.

(Even that time limit varies for different types, configurations, sizes and class of ships. . .)

I hope that helps, sorry it was so long though. . . :)

Now back to the topic at hand. . . .

  4. True, but those are the things that make being an at-sea firefighter all worth it.

DC, ABH, HT its what we do, hope for the worst and laugh at the rest. . .

But seriously I've gotten "fertilized" at Atsugi before.

Prior to a Bad weather/ low hyraulics trap. . .

But yeah I was on board the Indy stationed in Japan from 93 to 95, on many occaision it seemd to be the best tour of my life. . .

There is nothing like being aboard a real warship and seeing it flex muscle. . .

  5. Ahh well that's cool, I'm still buying it. . .

I just kinda thought that the bottom might open up then you rotate the seat. . .

I get the idea that not everyone might not like it but to me it would be kinda cool. . .

I mean think about it, the whole 360 cockpit view was just plain badass. . .

No matter which mode it was in he had a full virtual view of the battle field. . .

  6. Ohh, another quick question! ! !

Does the seat rotate like the VF-0's. . .

I kinda fell in love with that gimmick, it just screams badass, ultimate attention to detail. . .

Hell even throw in a static figure to display standing near the fighter. . .

  7. This just makes me even happier about pre ordering it! ! !:D:lol:B))

But just a couple questions, how will sturdy the hip joints be?

Also, what is the deal with the elbow joints?

It looks like a killer design with very good details.

All I have to do now is sit back and wait for to ship to the house. . .

  8. I tell you, there was nothing like being underway getting up at dawn and watching those beauties launch off the bowcats from vulture's row.

Watching the traps at night from above and below at the jet shop and fantail, Sweeet!!!!!!

The air shows the pilots put on at sea are even more breathtaking, NO RESTRICTIONS, NO SPEED LIMITS!!! " BOOM!!!" B))

  9. The pics in the link are all sweet ;) . . . .

The SR-71 is one of my favorite birds (aside from the F-14). . .

Forgive me for sounding like a noob,

But the thing I always wondered was if the unit on the top of the SR-71 was a drone or another engine?

I know it might not be the smartest thing to mount up there, but I've never been really sure. . .

Usually you see it without the component on top.

And I saw on the History Channel there were more models but they really don't go to far in to them. . .

  10. Hey don't get me wrong, Pee-wee is cool but it's just kind of odd seeing it in reruns. . .

MST3K is cool, I loved that show sad to see that show gone. . .

There are a lot of new sci-fi flicks that could use the treatment. . .

I would love to see them spoof the Star Wars Pre-uqals. . . .

  11. For the most part the AS line up has it's ups (and downs). . .

    Ups:

    Venture Bros.

    Boondocks

    Robot Chicken

    Harvey Birdman

    Downs:

Perfect Hair Forever (A pile of dung, I made the COLOSSAL mistake of watching the marathon last year, worst 8hrs of tv in my life)

12oz Mouse (My 6 yr old can do better, TV for drunks & Meth heads)

Tom goes to the Mayor (pile of crap, even with Jack Black & Chevy Chase)

Squidbillies (Nowhere as good as they think it is, A chuckle or two at the most)

Moral Oral (Sorry, not even close)

Pee Wee (I'll say it like this, my wife is japanese and even she said "WTF is this doing on tv again. . .?" And YEAH, she knows what he did in the movie theater. . . I say leave the man be. . .) ;)

    Now for the reruns,

Family guy: I too have the box sets so, if they keep it up with the new eps from the week before then its cool. . .

    American Dad: Ditto

All in all decent line-up but,

    -loose the blatant crap,

-stop trying to get the college drunks, acid trippers. . .

I know I don't have to watch them so I don't, but don't waste good tv time with those "downer" shows. . . .

But this is just my opinion. . . .
