  1. The 1/60 YF-19, despite the bad quality and floppiness, for me looks the most pleasing in all 3 modes. The valks that comes after except for the YF-21, namely the V.2 1/60 VF1, VF11B all look unfinished and unpleasant because of the sides of the battroid torso are hollow; something that can definitely be addressed with side parts at least. Alas, I have to contend with this ugliness for now until Yamato decides to intervene or I buy them from a member here.

@ cent, my YF-19's left thigh is glued while the right one is not. But you can take the glued one apart by prying them open very gently. You simply need to wedge something in between and drive the wedge in bit by bit (patiently) until the two halves come apart.

Hey thanks, my left wing root was getting a little loose, and I pryed open the thigh a little bit, without even breaking the glue seal in front of the intakes. Just remove the screw and slowly lift it open. I stuck in a long screwdriver to reach the root screw inside and got it tightened up like new. Thanks :3

  2. lol.. the intakes are hueg. And they are so badly carved out from behind, that it looks worse than the upper legs of the YF-19.

It doesnt even fit together with the huge ball joints bulging out of it in fighter mode... I never remembered fighter mode to be so boxy before XD

To be fair though, they are working at a small scale and trying to build posable revo-joint figures. >_>

  3. Yea I gotta agree, the prototype color and material is pretty awesome.

Btw, the VB-6 from the side angle there is practically falling apart.

And I realise that the design employs a lot of anime magic, but I would like someone to release a gerwalk-only mode, to cater to the accuracy of the lineart. No transforming, no more magic. I dont even mind if they sacrifice posability for something like that.

  4. The shoulders still aren't raised unfortunately T_T. I guess thats not happening. I like that they at least painted the minis, but how come the VB-6 is just the bland desert yellow? Where are the markings, despite being the largest of the minis? At least paint them to the level of detail that is on the VF-25 Minis.

  5. I will now eagerly and unreasonably anticipate the release of information regarding the completed kit and estimate its retail price to be well within my budget range.

And the cycle starts once again :3

  6. Ugh. I was really willing to put down 500-600 when I started seeing the more recent pics of this thing, but now I realise its just for the hardcore collectors. It's not that I dont love Macross enough, but just think of how many sweet 1/60 or 1/72 fighters you could buy with $2,300. Would you really feel that its worth trading in $2300 of 1/60 fighters to attain a single SDF monolith? I never really felt that the SDF was the main star, but rather nice support in the backdrop, and thus to me, I can't justify such a massive price tag.

  7. Complaining about repaints like the YF-19 Double Nuts is one thing... But getting loyal repaints and model adjustments that FIT the canon appearances is entirely another! With this sort of anti-repaint attitude, people who WOULD want some of the repaints (like I want the Ravens theme) wouldn't get them at all. Those who want the repaints will get them, those who don't will know the development of new molds will be funded by those who paid for the repaints.

Now bring on some non-canon repaints in digi-camo. :D
