  1. Not sure if this was posted before, but I felt that this summarized MacF very well.
  2. Silly Fif. No one comes to MWF for actual cited information. People only come here to bash, complain, pity themselves for being broke, and create huge speculation or criticism over something they know nearly nothing about. But really, it's Yamato, no one knows the real price I don't think, although it seems that many have just tacked on a value with sheer confidence... although the guesses range from 250-700. Apparently it will come out about a year from now.
  3. I like this new one better, but the limited edition kinda scares me Also, I'm not about to paint lolicon on my forehead... >_>
  4. I agree, but I find it strange that the whole 'one shoulder loose and one shoulder tight' issue on the DX 25 (which is common) mimics the YF-19 'one shoulder flap loose and one shoulder flap tight' issue. As someone said, wasnt CAD supposed to eliminate stuff like that? Why is one side different from the other, and it's usually the same side affected too? Otherwise, Bandai's credit is besting Yamato so far in terms of QC, so they have the benefit of the doubt for now. They don't however, get much faith in terms of being anime accurate =P.

Hopefully they do some of those doppler schemes. (Referring to the SV-51 custom paint thread) That was amazing for a non-canon scheme.
  6. I never liked Minmey. =X *runs*
  7. You say that, but for those who are unable to get new loans or have lost a source of income, asset liquidity is the first thing they need. Why else would so many people be willing to sell off their life collections? It's true that there's not a lot of good places to put your money to good use, but inflation aside, it's sure better than losing value on your money. Of course for me, I'm 22 and finishing my last years of university, right as tuition is skyrocketing. I studied in business and economics and anticipating a CGA certification, but the job market is looking pretty terrible. The good news is that moving out and getting a home or apartment may be considerably cheaper. The bad news is that this isn't going to happen if I don't save up enough money for it first or fail to find a job in time. I think I'm in the lucky zone, where my family is financially well off and relatively stable in the current economy, enough so that I am not in such a tight position. All that's happened lately is that I've been more frugal and selective with what I buy for non-essentials. I bought a 1/72 VF-25F most recently, and that was cause a friend helped bring it over from Japan, so I paid about $47 CAD total. Nothing else has come out for Macross lately that I deem essential yet ;p Im fortunate enough that I don't need to sell pieces of my own collection to make ends meet though.
  8. ... Is that... Hot glue holding it together? Lol
  9. I doubt a severe breakage like that could ever be widespread. Countless other parts of the toy would/should have broken before that hip bar snapped.
  10. Solder won't hold that. You'd need to weld it, but I doubt there's enough room to allow you to do something like that, especially without damaging the plastics.
  11. Wow damn. That looks like the connecting bar snapped, rather than having the plastic sockets crack or anything. Impossible to repair without replacing something like that. How does something like that even happen without the use of pliers and saws, I don't know.
  12. I don't blame Yamato for putting out something big. It gives the consumer more choices. Want small? Go Wave. Want big? Go Yamato. Want bigger? Build your own. I think a big issue is just plunking down 600-700 USD in one go. Figure collectors spend 70-100 on each figure, and it adds up to be around the same, but buying 7 separate items over a period of time doesn't seem as alarming as buying a single expensive figure. It's just a mentality thing, especially when people don't have spare cash. I support Yamatos decision, but I wasn't ready to put down $600 for a single large figure this year that wasn't the VB-6 or the HWR. I do hope that Yamato continues producing large collectibles though. Just means we need more space! (Also make sure to make the joints and limbs strong enough to hold up our other VFs when we start running out of room and need to stack them on top of each other)
  13. Oh my God.... This is too crazy, even for me I would like one, but it looks very expensive, and I don't have that much space. Also, I think the HWR makes a better centerpiece than the SDF. But even so, this is jaw-dropping news. The conditions just aren't right for me though
  14. Sorry, my mistake. Although I think we had more screen time of the INSIDE of the VF-27 (or at least Brera's VR world) than we did of the VF-27 itself. And even then, I still think that the Reas had more screen time regardless. While I agree it'd be economically cheaper to produce the VF-27 DX next, costs aside, no one liked Brera. Except maybe the bishou fans. Maybe if it was Grace's VF-27 that was released first, I wouldn't be so annoyed about it.
  15. Lol, it looks kinda squashed... But at least the vertical stabilizers are big? XD
  16. Yea, well the YF-21 was more prominent in the show than the VF-11.. So it's no surprise there. I guess the VF-27 was more prominent than the VF-171 too, but then again, the Raus were shown more often than either of those two. Would that mean a DX Rau would be next? XD In any case, the VF-17 toy in the past was junk. I don't mind Bandai releasing a new VF-17 or a VF-171, just redo the toy, the old one is beyond obsolete.
  17. DX VF-171? *excited* I want to see Bandai produce a 1/72 version too though, so I can take my pick again
  18. The broken screws on the DX don't seem all that common, however, reports of one loose shoulder and one super tight shoulder ARE common. Not quite the same level of severity I agree, but I hope Bandai fixes that too.

ITS GONNA BE SDF-2! Maybe we're overlooking things and its not mecha at all. Some sort of large scale singer?

I'd place my bets against you, but I sincerely hope you win XD I want Yamato to produce their own 1/60 Frontier lineup as well. Wishful thinking.
  22. Meh. Its not brand preference if people just say they prefer the model kit over the toy? Both are bandai. I think its just the same repetition of opinions about toy vs display piece.

the VF-4 was on Graham's recommendation list to Yamato, which implies that Yamato hasn't worked on it yet, so it can't be what's going to be uncovered any time soon. I think a new SDF sounds about right. I don't think Graham would try to get us that hyped for a repaint, so it's going to be a new sculpt I would think. I would go for a SDF actually, since I held off on purchasing the others up till now, but I'm really looking forward to a new Koenig.. Unlikely, since the original VB-6 is still kicking around. If its a VF that we haven't seen at all yet though, I'm all over it.
