Um, I would say the best Macross Villain was that crazy dude who crashed his cruiser into the SDF-1. Whatever his name is. He was so freaking crazy. I'm sorry, I'm not that far into the original macross series, but in RT they called him Khyron. He was so incompetent, it was great.

Her name is クラン　クラン, (Ku-ra-n Ku-ra-n). Japanese cannot spell out names like "Klan" or "Klein" or "Klang", instead you get a similar sounding aproximation. "Kuran" could be the resulting aproximation from any of the above examples, though in my opinion "Klan" is closest.

Ok, let's settle this once and for all. I have been around the net looking at Klan fan art and EVERY SINGLE PIC of her that has her name on it is spelled WRONG.

Some say "Klan Klein", others say "Klein Klan", now I see one that says "Klan Klang"!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!

So as of this morning, all of the old vocal tracks of replaced VA's have been switched out with the new ones. Some people I'm still waiting on but they're mostly bit roles and minmay. However my Minmay va does have a rather busy life and since she's pretty good at what she does I'm cutting her some slack hope she doesn't read tihs.

I would say 80-89% of the first half is now complete. It's actually looking REALLY good, I'm very surprised on how real in terms of goals in my life this is turning out.

This really motivates me to finish the movie after having nearly the entire first half of this film completed.

I have access to a recording studio, if you need a cannonfodder one liner or a crazy zentraedi let me know; I can do a pretty good Starscream, too

you might want to watch the series again. Grace said in ep 14(?) that "frontier didn't know that we were the ones who led the vajra to frontier". and as far as Frontier is concerned, they have just been defending their turf.

it would seem the same is true for the Vajra. If grace's faction did not lead the vajra to frontier, they might have left it alone. the vajra were quite satisfied staying in one area of Galia IV, even though there were some humans and zentraedis hanging around nearby. (which goes to show that they just defend their turf, much like the humans).

so here's where the hate comes in. Grace destroys Galia IV, and leaves a trail of breadcrumbs leading to the Frontier. Thus, Vajra believes the humans destroyed their planet, and declares war. For the humans, Sheryl was supposed to be killed on the planet at the height of her popularity (if Grace had her way), and the Vajra would be blamed for the destruction of the planet and her death. leading to an international tragedy that would make the humans hate the Vajra and declare war on them. and as we keep attacking the vajra all-out, they keep retaliating in force. this escalates. imagine how you can stop this escalation between two sides who have no way of communicating with each other (at least none that we know of yet).

That's the "hate" that Grace was going for. it's just classic war-mongering. it's not the emotion per se that Grace was so hyped about, but the effects of the hatred on war and politics. The intended result was an all-out war between the Vajra and the Humans. as for the reason behind this plot, we don't know yet. seriously.

precisely what is covered under the scope of overtechnology?

Cold Fusion?

Gravity Control?

What exactly is overtechnology and where does it cross the threshold of what human ingenuity is capable of producing?

Or rather, in the Macross universe, BEFORE the ASS-1 came to earth (really poor choice of acronym, seriously) where was human tech?

Clearly, the Vajra are NOT invincible; but there has to be some yet-unexploited weakness that will undoubtedly turn the tide, unless this series takes a twist and has a 'bad ending' so to speak.

Macross F is totally sexually charged... Seeing Minmei's tatas didn't give me a boner, it made me embarassed.

The only characters/situations with characters that turn me on are the ones with Hayase and KlanKlan.

Um, the locker scene was probably the most erotic thing I've ever seen in Macross.

God though, KlanKlan is effin hot.

Even if she's not real I'd totally hookup with her.

2nd most erotic was when Michael is practicing sniping and Klan's all like "come in, it's late"... and michael says something like "Are you asking me to spend the night with you?" and Klan gets all flustered. hehe, I loved that.

As a sidenote, the sexual charge in Macross F is SOOO strong, I don't dare let my gf know I even watch it, let alone watch it with her. There's just too much boobaction going on.

I think even though it was a complete creative murder of the show RT did do *some* things OK.

I will reiterate for the like, 4th time this thread that I never said the Minmay/Minmei music was good in english, even when I was 5 I thought it was AWFUL.

But the OP is better, and some of the BGM is really good.

I admitted I saw Robotech first, but I still like all the Macross music overall, including the opening. It isn't the MA-KU-ROSS thing that gets me, it is the other parts actually. Especially with translation and you know what he is saying, I like those parts. Especially the part of the song when the Macross is shown firing it's cannon in carrier mode (which is a great shot btw because it never actually does that in the show).

I said I liked the Macross OP's footage better, but I dunno,... ... gosh, I dunno where to go with this but I just... like the RT OP better and the RT (Macross Saga) background music more...
