  1. The whole MAC CON is shaping up to be awesome with the sponsors and prizes. Poster looks great too. :)

I was wondering if any thought was given to having a preview/trailer for the MAC CON?

I am not sure about any Legal/Copyright issues, but I was thinking about how, when you are waiting in the lobby before been allowed in to the cinema, there are screen(s) showing previews of movies 'now showing' and 'coming up'. I thought it would be cool to have a "Macross Trailer" being shown along side the other movies leading up too and during the MAC CON. :D

  2. Really? only around 7? That's including credit times? We'd wan't to include the credits for the full length movie experience don't we?

Nah i didn't do up the full tally of hours yet, and i did i ask for people to check it up, and you've come through for us.

    thanks mate! :)

The times should include end credits. According to the disc info:

    Macross Plus Movie - 135mins

    Macross Zero - 173mins

    DYRL? - 115mins

    Flashback - 30mins

So now we gotta put a vote of our fav episodes.

    epi 1 of SDF series?

    Kamjin's trap on Mars

    Final Battle

    Pineapple Salad

And that's just for SDF, how about epi 1 of Macross Plus with Isamu going off against the Zentran in his VF-11?

see? all classics, and will fill up the time easily.

    How about:

Good-bye Girl - Max and Milia PvP battle

Virgin Road - Zentradi attack on Max and Milia's wedding day

  3. I am not sure if you have worked out the times for each series, but if it is decided to go with Macross Zero, Macross Plus Movie and DYRL? with Flashback, from the DVD/Bluray I have total time is looking to be just over 7 hours. Will that give sufficent time to check out the displays/cosplay etc., maybe a few best of episodes, plus breaks between shows?

10am sounds fine. People could start turning up from 8 for a meet and greet before getting in to the thick of things. :)

It all gets better with each new post, can't wait. :D

  4. Remember 2009 is the year the SDF-1's launch date!!! :)

If that was the main BIG suprise, I would sell mine and my relatives kidneys to see a real SDF-1 launch.:D

Shame about the cost of the cinema, that sounded great. Is the cinema idea still cheaper than some kind of hotel convention centre/function room with a big screen?

DYRL?, Plus, and Zero are probably my top three Macross features, the allnighter marathon will be worth looking forward too. :)

I look forward for future updates.

  5. No details will be revealed yet... atleast not now rather later,

so if fellow aussies want something kick ass to happen down under, say YAY! Make yourselves known!

[will try to track down members via PM]

    BRISBANE - 2009.

*already PM'd 9 of you guys that i know of*

Have you started to get an idea of numbers?

I should have no problem coming over from NZ. I won't know till closer to the time, but sometimes it can be cheaper to fly to Aussie than between our two main islands

  6. The shoulder arrangement is legitimate cause for concern. Becareful when moving it around....especially in gerwalk mode.

And as for the missiles....i have a hassle free way for attaching and detaching them. If you look at the hardpoints, there's a very small hardly noticeable groove that helps lock the missiles down tightly. If you were to turn the missiles towards the fuselage and attach/detach them, you'll not go through the grooves allowing for easy attachment detachment. Reorientate the missiles and they will slip under the grooves and sit tightly under the wings. When detaching, spin the missiles pointing towards the fuselage as far as it can go and voila...it pops off easily. ;)

Sorry if this was mentioned before though.

Thanks for the advice on the hardpoints. The Valk will basically be displayed, I will transform now and again depending on which mode takes my interest at the time. So I should have no long term problems - as long as I am careful. :(

Can't wait for my VF-1A Hikaru.

  7. Mine arrived last saturday from HLJ, but I have had no time until now to play with it.

This is first 1/60 from yamato so I was a bit apprehensive about the transformation. Took me about an hour to transform all three modes, with and with-out the fast packs. Had no problems at all. :D

    I voted perfect, but I have a few nit-picks:

I cast a vote for 'perfect'. Although there is one thing that concerns me and that is the shoulders. Unless I'm transforming it wrong the square panels that fold out and hold the arms, the ones that are on the hinge that was broken in the 2Chan photo, do not lock into anything in Battroid mode. They just sort of sit there and can be moved around with the arm. They seem sturdy and the arms aren't floppy or loose, but my concern is that when you move the arm it puts unnecessary strain on the hinges, especially since the shoulder joints are very tight on mine. I'm making a conscious effort to brace the hinge with a fingertip each time I want to move the shoulder, but I'd like to not have to do that. Again, if I'm doing it wrong and that piece locks into something please let me know.

    - I too wondered about the shoulders as the arrangement does look flimsy.

    - I wish the UNSpacy logo on the right half of the gun was not upside down.

    - And has been mentioned before of the attaching and detaching of the missles on the wings. The hardpoints look as though they will wear after a few too many placements.

Overall, the VF-1S looks great in all three modes. I have already preordered a VF-1A, and hoping for a Max DYRL? and VF-1D.

  8. Anyway, has anyone here who bought the MF Blu-rays tried to check if they incorporated BD-Live into them? I'm interested to see if they plan to push through with BD-Live's promise of being able to download additional voice tracks/subtitles down the road.

I have been thinking the same thing with BD-Live.

From what I can understand, the Frontier and upcoming Zero release will allow access to a website link to view a feature called "All that VF". I am not sure if that will mean the disks are really BD-Live enabled.

It would be good if they are, then maybe, if the Studios don't plan on adding subs now or in the future, we could petition the Studios to allow a third party to sumbit fansubs for download. :D

  9. Does any one know if the Frontier and Zero Blurays will be BD-live enabled?

It does seem unlikely we will get english subtitles when they are released, but BD-Live does offer a faint glimmer of hope in providing subs at a later date. If the studio won't do it, maybe a third party might be able to submit subs to the studio and then the studio makes it available for us to download. :D
