  1. I still have one in a box and I gave it a number, in fact none of the rest of my low viz has decals applied to them yet.
  2. Correct if I'm wrong, but I thought Mcfarlane has exclusive rights to do Akira in the US? So which means that Bandai's rendition will prove to be an infringement.
  3. well pooh! I guess HLJ wont show you pics here's the link But to preorder you must do a HLJ search from their engine and of course type in Akira under 'series'.
  4. Yamato needs to be one tampo printin' son of a beyotch to pull this gem out their @$$! There's no way to pull this off by applying stickers and I must say I admire the skillz that put together a real work of art.
  5. I love the low viz of course you can't call it low viz anymore with those yellow stripes but still an awesome piece. I've got takas stickers but haven't had the time to sit and beautify my valks.
  6. How 'bout half price on all their 1/48 to celebrate the 20th anniversary! Serioously though, I would leve to see a fully armored 1/48 VF-1J! Enemy mechs will also do the trick to emptyin' my wallet.
  7. ooooh! that looks like a lost cause. If there is a superglue that can hold that please LMK where I can get a box full of the product. I would perhaps try to get in contact with other members who have had problems with their 1/48s and ask 'em if their willing to sell parts.
  8. IMO I think it's worth $130 if Yamato included the fastpacks with it! There are some toys in that price range which is better engineered or perhaps intricately detailed that could carry the merits to its hefty price tag, like for instance SOC Dancouga or Aoshima's 1/6 T-800. And there are some toys that are unbelievably detailed and affordable like for instance A Mcfarlane Toy Matrix Series 2 APU unit; reasonably priced and the detail on this toy astounds me! So its really up to you.
  9. First off, I hate to be one to tell ya this, but this belongs on the pinned section called "What's wrong with my so & so 'POS' toy" not necessarily that title but if I where in your shoes that's the stand I would take. A fellow member (I think it was Monkey-N) had the oppurtunity to get in contact with Yamato regarding replacement parts. Yamato happily provided for a short time and realized it was cannibalizing on its sales, so they halted the service indefinitely. Anyways pics help immensely, no one has the time to read a detailed description of the problem if that were the case, I can call up my mechanic on the phone and describe to him the noises and problems and he can give me a diagnosis right over the phone, ya right! Did you purchase this from HLJ and found out that they shipped a defective & damaged product? If so try and contact them or read their policies about returning an item that had been damage during shipping. Other than that, sorry to hear the inconvenience that this has given you.
  10. nice job Drifand! Besides Macross, Orgruss and Dougram mechs are my faves, although I've never seen the two shows. I should perhaps finally see the series and get a sense on how these mechs perform in battle.
  11. My display case is starting to look like an all Yammie product line, Takatokus, Bandais, Gakkens and others will be subjected to the inevitable storage box.
  12. The original endoskeleton was based on an exray of Arnold, so you are more correct than you think. Whoa! Arnie has two pneumatic pistons? Impressive. Oh! so when his passing gas it's really his pneumatic pistons makin all that noise!
  13. Hmmm yeah I suppose so, although it would've had my vote over the prime. agree with you about the hip & leg assembly but what really bothers me is the cords that protrude out from the chest to the top of the shoulders. I'm wondering where should the cords be housed or attached within the chest cavity; it just sits there without any fictious purpose. Also the cords get in the way when the shoulders are racheted forward, you have to be really careful not to damage this part because of a protrusion of the main body's shoulder metal frame gets in the way and could make a dent on the cord. The cord is basically made of a long tightly compressed spring.
  14. It's more than likely that Mcfarlane toys is making an 18" version of the endos. JTLYK, you have to be careful handling around the calf legs of the Aoshima's endos, The pistons or cylindrical shock absorbers can be bent if applied with enough pressure. But it can be bent back into place without no prob. Also the stand is necessary if you want your toy investment to be prestine, the endo can stand on its own without the figure stand. The endo as far as I've counted has probably more than 32 points of articulation. The spine bends to a limited degree; the hip joints can do the an A stance; the jaw moves; the waist swivel; feet has joints. I think it is far more dynamic than the Mcfarlane 6" endos but we'll have to wait & see for the 18" Mcfarlane endo to make a better quality comparison. IMO my favorite is the standard version which is the endo with the plasma rifle but the weathered version is also nice because it gives the figure more a definitive look and the panel lines are more pronounced. It's amazing how much diecast content is in this figure even the skull is diecast. If this was released sooner this would have been a close contender for the TOTY award that Toybox has awarded to 20th annv Prime.
  15. Drifand Yup! My Dougram collection is well cherished. Although I've yet to get my hands on several Orguss toys that you seem to have that I wish I had. Also never knew they had a TRU version of the T-800 and I second that to the all chromed out endo, that would be awesome! Pat S That's right Aoshima. Anyways I posted my terminator collection at the Mcfarlane forums and not a second sooner they dropped my thread from their forums! Punk ass Beyotches!
  16. Wow this thing is awesome! A considerable amount of die-cast and in 1/6 scale. Pick one up you wont regret it.
  17. Mospeada, Votoms, Orguss, Dougram, Gasaraki just to name a few. If big robots is your new fetish like Chogokins, Popys Gashapons all this stuff can be found here at ToyboxDX. It's a really good site.
  18. Wow did it say anywhere who was reponsible for building this bohemoth and how long did it take to make. If I were to build something like that I would probably make it interactive, making all the elevators move and working lights, radar etc.... Impressive I like the interior hangers, I wonder how far the hanger goes?
  19. Macross figs go here An unrelated product but I think you guys are waiting for is here
  20. Everyone is saying that these will be 1/55 and I know it's been advertised as a 1/55 toy but has anyone seen it stand side by side with a 1/55 mpc vf-1? Toynami just ripped off the imai kits and I suspect did not even bother by scaling down the toy to 1/55 instead left it as the original 1/48 scale ofcourse this will be fine with me if it were true. If it is true I will have 1/48 alpha along with my 1/48 yammie along side by side. Besides, Robotech fans have never seen an Alpha side by side with a vf-1 veritech in the show so whatever Toynami/HG tells 'em they'll believe it to be.
  21. swappable parts.... sux! Affordable.... rules! Standardize a scale..... priceless! I'll pay whatever amount if they standardize the scale to 1/48!
  22. Well I don't like the 1/60 scale but would rather see everyting in 1/72 since it such a well supported scale from every manufacturer. When I found out that the 1/100 vf-0s will have swappable parts, I had suddenly lost interest. 1/48 is a scale that I wish can be re-edited for every valk but that's a pipe dream because of others protesting the idea. I say if one could afford such a thing then shouldn't Yamato provide a specialty item to cater that market?
  23. 1/100 looks awesome so far! I hope it has perfect transformation including a sliding canopy shield. It's quite refreshing to see Yamato taking a smaller scale, this means Yamato might be considering making diorama sets to compliment for these 1/100 scale valks. I would love to see the sv-51 proped up for take off from a disected portion of the submarine hanger. The future does seem bright. As far as the stand is concerned, looks good but doesn't hold up to the gun pod request that we all desire.
