  1. Dewey?? Maybe they are gonna release complete collection of Eureka SeveN??
  2. There's screenshots comparison between the Bandai HD-remastered sets and animeigo sets, Bandai's just blows away the animeigo junk. As for putting this series on Blu-ray, the footage has to be blown up since the originals are shot on 16mm film which don't have the 1080 line resolution, but it will certainly benefit from less compression from high bitrate and more efficient codec. Contrary to normal thinking, the old stuff isn't as good as new stuff doesn't apply to film technology. There are lots of examples in live action films shot in the 60s, 70s look as good as or even better than recent films. In the anime genre, I have seen 80's anime Royal Space Force Wings of Honneamise, Bubblegum Crisis OVA, and Gunbuster Blu-ray Disc, they all look stunning. 70s, 80s TV anime series Zeta Gundam and Lupin are coming on Blu-ray recently.
  3. The max resolution for DVD is 720*576 which is in PAL format and 720*480 in NTSC, 720p isn't supported. 1920*1080 is the max resolution for BD, but doesn't necessary have to be this resolution only.
  4. The difference between with aliasing or without is really minimal. The only method to make DVD subtitles look better is to have large font size with thick boarder.
  5. It's possible, just use a program called MaestroSBT. The program takes *.SSA and turns them into bunch of tif files along with a *.son/*.sst file (which has time and color indexes for those tif pictures generated) , then import into the authoring software. I know DVDLab is very similar to DVDMaestro which can take *.son/*.sst file. MaestroSBT also works with styles in SSA, so that you can make multi-color subtitles like what ANIMEigo did to their DVDs.
  6. That's great effort you put together to make DVD subtitles for those dvdisos. How did you take the screenshots? What software did you use?
  7. Voted for Sheryl. If I had more choices, I would've voted Nanase and Kanaria also since Houko Kuwashima is my favoriate seiyu...
  8. In one episode of Martian Successor Nadesico, the opening is exactly like the first episode in Macross where the spaceship coming from the outerspace and crashing on the island scene. In Bamboo Blade, the teacher gave Tama-chan an VHD copy of Magross Aiji Oboete imasuka clearly in reference of Macross Ai Oboete imasuka.
