I don't know if this has been posted already, but have anybody noticed that Ranka's "father" looks a lot like a younger version of Ozma? I thought the 2 adults in the family photo from Episode 13 were Ranka and Brera's parents, but after carefully watching the image I noticed that the woman in the right is short enough to be Dr. Mao and u can never see her face well. She also seems to be wearing a lab coat...
Perhaps both Brera and Ranka are clones and Ozma's story about Ranka's parents is a cover up!!!
Well remember Ranka's 1/4 Zentradi, so one of her grandparents had to have married one, and Mao would be in or near her 20s when the original series ended? I think it's much more likely that she'd be Ranka's grandmother than anything else. Also, the hair her mother has looks like the same green that Ranka's is and Mao's was a dark brown.
And the guy looks similar to Ozma, but the hair's the wrong color and the face looks different. Ozma could've been stationed on the 117th Research Fleet as a pilot and Ranka's father was his wingman.

Just to add a little bit of info, when they had the diagram up of the fold travel to Gallia 4 each fault had would show a different day. As they continued on, one fault would add +1 another added +2 etc. So I guess you can say that it's just a space that's difficult to travel through like rough seas. Either that or it could be sections of 'denser' space that slows fold travel and prohibits the formation of new fold tunnels, which would explain why the Kaitos wasn't able to make a fold jump until it cleared the faults in the region.

KAMINAAAA NOOOOOO!!!!!!!
I'm calling for a dreadful ending with the entire Frontier being wiped out. (what a tweest)

but it was said that vajra have too little brain to act alone.. Episode 4 i think.
That it was controlled by an external something/someone.
btw im new here..hello all
The red and yellow ones don't have a 'brain'. They're more like worker ants, suggesting that there's a Queen in existence making orders.
-
It all reminds me of WWII in a sense and the attack on Pearl Harbor. We didn't like what was going on but we weren't going to get actively involved until they attacked us first.
Just how Frontier and the rest of the NUNS has known about the Vajra but we weren't looking to pick an open fight with them. After framing the Vajra for the assault on Gallia 4 and now them attacking Frontier, I think it'll be an open declaration of war with atleast Frontier making strides to hunt down all Vajra colonies in the area.

Possibly.. But if it is the same principle and assume the original Grace went underground on Frontier, how can the original Grace control dummy Grace over that long distance without the problem of cutting the control signal through the fold disruptions? Unless Grace is an AI/Cylon/skinjob and can 'download' her soul into a new body, I presume she has sacrificed herself for her and her superiors' cause, thus is dead.
I'm of the opinion that Grace sacrificed herself, because that would make the cause she's fighting for appear a lot stronger.

I thought he was pulling a cobra maneuver like Shin in Macross Zero, except he went into gerwalk right way instead of using it to slow down the VF-25 so he could transform unlike Shin's VF-0 which had more limitations.
I bet he got that idea from watching the Zero movie Ranka was in.

Wait I just realized something if valks sensors and Zentraedi ship sensors are affected by the jamming why wasn't the following listed below not affected?

== Grace's cyborg body
== VF-27
== Ex-Gear
Well Alto said it was only the Guidance system that were being knocked offline, and flying without knowing your positioning is pretty dangerous.
Grace's cyborg body wouldn't rely on the same instruments to fly an aircraft. I imagine Ex-Gear is similar since it's mostly an exoskeleton and wouldn't require those utilities to work.
As for the VF-27....¿Yo no se? Brera's whole cockpit setup isn't traditional since it's all hollowgraphicy so it might not need those readings? I'm just throwing something out there though.

For playing MKVs just download the CCCP. It plays just about everything besides real media, and who encodes for that anyway.
And for people having problems with playing files, most fansubs release a high quality and lower quality version now as well.

So now we can confirm that Ranka's parents worked with studying the Vajra, and maybe even used their daughter as a part of those experiments? Seems kinda cold hearted and messed up, unless of course they were trying to create a way to pacify them and gave her the ability to control/calm them down. That would be more parent-esq.

GAR Alto? RankaxAlto relations? Good animation and sizable fighting?
This episode is almost as good as ep 7.

Well, as I posted in the ep.12 thread earlier it might not be the original SDF-1 Macross at all. It was destroyed and rendered unusable at the end of the first Macross. However, a sister ship called the SDF-2 Megaroad was developed and launched as a colonization fleet with Misa as the captian, Hiraku with the Skull Squadron and even Minmay onboard. Contact with the Megaroad was lost after they ventured towards the center of the Galaxy, which is where Frontier and everyone is at now.
I just think it's much more likely it's the Megaroad which was heading to where the story is currently taking place and not the original ship that was pretty much completely destroyed. If we follow Occaam's Razor, it's a lot easier to think it's the SDF-2.
-
I thought that too but as the subs have said this is the original our big question is just how.
Well subs can always be wrong, even writers can make mistakes.
I just find it too coincidental for it to not be the SDF-2. SDF-1 was destroyed and the Megaroad was it's "sister ship" that flew out with Minmay, Hikaru, and Misa.
-
Well wasn't it mentioned in one of the other series (Macross 7 maybe?) that the SDF-2 which was part of the first colonization fleet went missing towards the center of the galaxy? And isn't Frontier heading through the center of the galaxy? Seems pretty straight forward but I could be wrong.

I think it should just be said that when somebody says Birdman I automatically think Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law.

Since SK is going with the Hindu theme:
I agree with VF-27 "Shiva"
- Shiva is the destroyer or transformer
- The name Shiva, in one interpretation, is also said to have derived from the Dravidian word “Siva” meaning “to be red”. It is the equivalent of Rudra, “the red” RigVeda.
(red destroyer transformer? Sounds like the 27, a bit)
More: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiva
Other:
VF-27 "51's More Evil, Deadlier, Younger (and pink) Twin"
VF-27 "I See What You Did There"
VF-27 "NyanNyan"
VF-27 "Who Needs Fold Boosters?"
VF-27 "Aren't My Ears Pretty?"
VF-27 "Not the 25"
VF-27 "Pink Baron"
...
VF-27 "Basara" ... *runs*
I like this. Or rather...
I concur.

Well, lets all look at what's been shown to us so far. There's an obvious connection with the events of Zero and Frontier now.
1. Sheryl shares the same last name as Mao and Sara. (Sara and Sheryl don't sound too dissimilar either).
2. Ozma's mention of Ranka being fated to play the part of Dr. Mao.
3. The Vajra's similar reaction to the Bird-Human's when Ranka and Sara would sing.
4. The interest in Sheryl's ear ring and the way it seemed to play the song when Alto was in trouble and the reaction of rocks on the Mayan island when Sara would sing (This is a bit of a stretch, but still note worthy).
Moving onto Brera and Grace:
5. The Galaxy fleet was known for it's advanced technology and Brera is a cyborg.
6. Grace has implants and is seen spying on a defense meeting.
Safe conclusions we can make as of now are that there's a definitive relation between Ranka and Mao, even possibly down to inheriting the mayan priestess' abilities. Her song activating a dormant Vajra and Sara stirring the sunken Bird-Human is a very strong correlation. Also of note is that Mao became a doctor between Zero and when Ozma met her. With the Bird-Human's blood being transferred into her own it's likely she became involved in protoculture development and research... maybe even creating the Vajra?
There's a connection between Galaxy and the Vajra that they don't want to be known, so much as to send spies to its sister fleet. I highly doubt it's a revival of the anti-UN forces with how the world joined together and stopped fighting as Zentradi began attacks. Brera's likely Ranka's sibling who's been kept alive with cybernetics. Was he the person in the ship we see in the flash back being destroyed by the Vajra?
As of now, I think it's likely that Ranka is a descendent of Mao, child or even grand child (she is 1/4 Zentradi). Mao moved to Galaxy to continue her studies on Protoculture and created a "clone" of herself or possibly her sister, named it Sheryl, to continue studies on Bird-Human prototypes. Remember the reactions the Bird-Human had when Sara would sing, they would need to raise another singer. This leads to the creation of the Vajra, which get out of hand and wreck havoc on everything. Galaxy has to keep their dirty little secret quiet and dispatches Brera and Grace to keep this info out of Frontier's hands, since Frontier is one of the leading ships farthest out into the center of the Galaxy.

I'm kinda irked that there wasn't any sign of a Battle 25, it would've been cool if there were 2 Macross ships fighting together.
