  1. You know the best part of this episode for me was when Ozma shouted "Totsugeki Love Heart!".
  2. Same here. I stumbled onto Frontier while watching Gundam 00 because the same fansub group was subbing these 2 shows. I watched ep1 of Frontier and the introduction of the war with zentradi really intrigued me. I went to look up Macross on wiki and I was amazed at the history of this franchise. That was when I know I have to watch the original series. I wasn't even born when SDF macross was showing, so imagine my awe and surprise when I realized that it was one of the most beautiful stories ever told in the world of anime. It was totally awesome. I was still very young when Macross 7 was showing but of course I went finish the entire series after watching SDF Macross. Then I went on to Macross Plus and Macross Zero. After that I continued Frontier. I always used to think that gundam was THE mecha anime to watch but after discovering this old gem that is Macross, I couldn't believe how much I've been missing out. I'm really glad I get to watch these wonderful series.
  3. Michel. Man, the way he took out that vajra after being stabbed is beyond manly. And like what many of you has said, the way he gave klan the answer she wanted. Not to mention with diamond crevasse playing in the background, damn, it was too good. I mean, unlike focker or guld's death, I really felt this one. My heart virtually sank when michel went flying out into space, and I wanted to shout out his name like what alto did. Again, its the song that separates this from the rest.
  4. This has probably been asked many times but what is Lucca relationship with Leon? They are not brothers, are they? And what does LAI actually stand for? Can't seem to recall any episode explaining what it is.
  5. Phew, I really had a scare when the ozma scene was played out almost exactly like roy focker. When I saw the technician guy all puzzled after peeking into ozma's cockpit, I was thinking, where have I seen this before. Then it dawned on me, damn that was exactly what happened to roy! Thank goodness, they didnt do a roy on him. I guess pineapple cake ain't as strong as pineapple salad. I was really glad they have fire bomber inserts for this episode. To all macross7 fans, Basara's songs transcend time and space, fire bomber all the way...BOMBER!!! Oh, and what is that pill in Michel's locker? Is that the 'medication' which grace gives sheryl?
  6. Greetings to everyone in this forum, I've just registered not too long ago and as you see, this is my first post. I was actually hooked onto the macross franchise after watching a few episodes of frontier, so you can say that I'm among the newer generation of macross fans. So what I did was to download everything to do with macross, all the tv series, ovas, etc. I have to admit, the theme of macross is really like nothing I've seen before. SDF macross was brilliant, you can't find anything like that nowadays. I didnt know how it must have felt to watch the original series in its time, but to me it was more like getting to understand what this whole macross thing was about, something like a history lesson (a rather enjoyable one). So I guess back then people may not have realised how significant those original three characters have become right now. Any mentioning of them has only been done verbally, and whenever that happens, it feels like you are hearing about a really great legend. To me, events that occurred in their time seem to have happened really really long ago. In my mind I have this idea that they are pretty much gone forever. Of course I wouldnt mind seeing them make any appearance in frontier or other future series, but it will be much better if they are to forever remain at a legendary and untouchable status. Like what most of you guys have said, this is part of the magic that makes macross as a franchise so very special.
