thanks for the pics! I still think I'll pass on Mr.Ideon. The Jolly Red Giant look isn't my thing. Plus those big pointy toes.. but a Power Loader! I'm there!

haha, we're all turning into panic merchants. For my contribution to the mass anxiety, I'm thinking about packaging and shipping. This puppy looks like it will have lots of fragile pointy bits that could snap in transit, like the tips on the VF-0 tailfins did (for eg, the split wing tips and the fuselage fins.. dunno what the proper name is). I wonder if the toy could be shipped without them attached?

Transforming sneakers is officially the Worst Toy Concept Ever Conceived. Worse than transforming rocks. -
Graham has been strangely quiet since the pic was posted.. I thought he'd be able to let a cat or two out of the bag now there's a proto. And it's funny.. a few years ago I though this would be the 'toy they could never make' as it's so skinny and fragile looking. I'd prefer them to take their time on QC rather than have it asap.

the painted megs looks awesome. and the legs aren't too skinny either, I reckon. I hope they do the same thing as they did for Starscream and have to face versions. I 'd love to see a 'maniacal evil laugh' face on megs. -
hmm.. showing my age but... I had one of those watches as a kid! And there was another type which transformed from a chubby fighter jet to watch mode IIRC.

Cool!! you should photoshop out the roof and lights and replace it with a sky background.

I love the EX version. The others fuggedaboutid.

saw the trailer yesterday. I'm super excited about this. Danny Boyle + Alex Garland + great actors = hit. I thought 'Event Horizon' too but this won't be a horror/sci-fi I think. More spiritual & meaning/existence-of-god-etc themes.

Opinions on HLJ...
Guppy replied to Stemp Fester's topic in Where to Buy Macross, Auctions & Dealers Specials
Hi fellow Australian! I share your pain at having to always get toys from overseas. you can't go wrong with hlj. Sometimes shipping can be a bit slow but the prices and shipping are pretty good. I've been buying off them for 6 or 7 years. You can get cheaper prices if you know someone in Hong Kong, I've bought off Neova (a member here) quite a few times and he has great prices and ships lighting fast. Also ask Kensei who is also from WA ( I think) -
jeee wowzer that looks amazing. I've got the one which is 2nd in from the right side in the top pic and this new one looks a million times better.

please tell me that hasn't been transformed properly. And the quality is so CHEAP! solid plastic chunks for hands and the ugly peg sticking out of the leg. -
I think most of us already posted our opinions of movie megs. Mine was he looks like a crushed up soda can. with a really, really scary head. RAAR!
-
me too. I do mine with a mechanical pencil so they are very subtle. And it only takes half an hour and little to no skill level.

I just picked up the Classics Prime and I'm surprised how much I like it. heaps of fun to transform and super poseable. I actually like it a lot more than the MP starscream which I got at the same time. -
me too! Damn.. so disappointed..
-
aaaaah. Thanks Dri. *slaps own head* They're not bad. So long as you don't hate PVC with a firey passion they're good. detail's good, poseability is great, paint job is good, nice decals, and not too many bumps/blemishes for a pvc toy. I did want to get them but wasn't prepared to pay the stupid prices. Then hlj had a 65% off sale on them and I'd bought them 10 seconds later. I see the Standing Tortoise is still available on the hlj sale page.

I'm a day late and a dollar short to this thread but.. I just bought the Max Factory 1/35 toys on sale at hlj - the Standing Tortoise, Bloodsucker and Scopedoggie. They ARE pvc but great detail and articulation. If anyone else has these can you tell me why the little square plugs on the sides of the torso are removeable?

somebody has too much time. Or there's a secret MW munchkin. Maybe a corruption after our recent hacking...? MW has gone all Hal on us. Well I got done a while ago. I need to post something profound or hilarious to get rid of 'not enough sucking'. And you already know I won't suck for sigs! oh god if I get changed to 'will suck for sigs' I am so leaving and signing up at rt.com.

my thoughts.. If you ever change careers you should take up cricket commentating! and somebody shoot that damn dog! oh, and the review is great too.

every pic I see my interest grows less. They look like a cross between a scrunched up aluminium can and Bionicles. Prime's new catch phrase should be "Can-Formers, Recycle!" -
wow, but HBO. I love so much of the series they make. Band of Brothers, Oz, Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Deadwood, etc etc, now Preacher! cool. I'm liking this a lot more than the now dead and buried movie idea. With (IIRC) the dude who played Cyclops in the x-men movies.

I saw those pics - maybe a Glock would be the best gun to base Megs on as it's nice and big and chunky. Dunno the release date.. it was what, about 6 months from when Starscream was first announced to when he hit the shelves?
