  1. re the legs being skinny, is there a way to have the inner side contain a 'pull out' inner leg to make them thicker in robot mode? I can't think of a better way to describe this so I hope you get what I mean.
  2. cute pics! Looks like the sketch was done when Dancouga was on the Lettuce Diet.
  3. HAHAHA! You know, I've always wanted 15 carded Lunk figures.. and for just 30k now they can be mine!
  4. also the pic on your top left is the VF-2SS in 1/100 scale made by Bandai. It shows up on MW from time to time, shouldn't be too hard to find on ebay. But stating the obvious, these are all model kits and you'll need some basic/fair/decent experience to make them look any good. And on the topic of Resin, don't even think about getting a resin kit until you're fairly experienced in modelling as D.N.D says they require a ton of work and you need to know what you're doing.
  5. A little OT from the Gunbuster mania, anyone who owns the Dancougar, what do you think of it? Worth the money? Cool factor? gimmicks? problems? worth getting? And on that note, which in your opinions is the WORST (or least excellent) SOC? Mine would have to be teh Xabungle - even though it looks great I can never play with it cos it falls to pieces.
  6. haha, that's the first thing I thought of too.
  7. check out the SOC Chogokin thread on this page.. that will get you drooling.
  8. awesome: and at a guess, is the little guy in the below pic about the same size as the little star wars Action Fleet figures?
  9. after IMAI went under Aoshima bought the molds IIRC.
  10. Yeah, it's tough because they sell out so fast. I started collecting late (when the Getter Dragon came out IIRC) but luckily I was in HK when the bug hit so I got good deals on the Mazinger and Great Mazinger. And thanks to the re-releases I got the Combattler, Getter Liger and Posiedon. I love all the ones I have, my only gripe is the Xabungle. I haven't touched it since I bought it.. too afraid everything will fall off.
  11. No, I know exactly what you mean Drifand - it's a dichotomy.. I want the chunky blocky look cos that's what I love about 'bots like the Soltic and Dougram. but also want more that 4 points of articulation.. and having that means it's got to be more humanoid to accommodate all that movement. Although my yamato Scopedog does both quite nicely. I have the Lia too and for a PVC toy it's tops! Except for the light gray thin and sickly looking shotgun it comes with.
  12. I haven't had any interest in this line until I saw the Soltic. I blame nostalgic feelings cos I had one as a kid. I see what Drifand means about 'men in suits' - I put this down to there never has been a articulated Dougram toy til now (from my knowlege) - all the toys and kits I've ever seen have been blocky 80's chunky monkeys.
  13. I'm a total SOC junkie but I'm a bit 'meh' about the Walker Galliar and the Ideon. I bought a HCM Walker Galliar to keep my SOC Xabungle company so I doubt I'll get the SOC version, especially when the price is around $70. If I have some money in my bank I'll be getting the Gunbuster for sure. Now if I won the lottery I would definitely be getting the Fewture Getters 2 and 3. I love my #1. And the Aoshima black getter looks great too (the poor man's Fewture Ryoma, lol): http://www.toysdaily.com/04topic/chogokin/...blackgetter.htm
  14. well spotted! I swapped the 1/60 head with the spare head from the 1/72 kit.. I thought it looked heaps better.
  15. I never liked the Gunbuster design either.. but this SOC has sold it for me. Big chunky transforming shiny metal robot toy.. it's MINE! totally OT.. I just installed Mozilla 2 and the spellcheck function is a great idea (what do you mean, you don't know the word 'Gunbuster'??). I especially love the adblocking addon.
  16. Just to tempt you even more, here are some old pics I took when I got my stands about 3 or so years ago (man, so long ago!! ) [attachmentid=37447] [attachmentid=37448] [attachmentid=37449] [attachmentid=37450]
  17. great pics! I love all the gimmicks too. I might be giving the detail under the head cover a light dry brush with gunmetal paint. It looks like plain gray plastic color in the pic.
  18. haha, that guy selling his bootleg for 500 bucks (a couple of pages ago) ...relisted it for BIN $350 (wow, $150 off, bargain!) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=250029670276 then again for $50, lol. still no bids. Be quick!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=250031177764
  19. I did - I stopped around 12.. I vaguely remember thinking that toys weren't cool anymore. And when you're in your teens you're terribly concerned if you're cool or not. By about 22 or so I definitely didn't care anymore. PS Haterist - I also have three ferarris and a warehouse full of 1/48's. But don't hate the playa.
  20. Keep us posted on your success! I'm the same, got about 4 boxes in deep storage. Like the whole run of The 'Nam, first issues of all the flagship Image titles, etc. Probably circa 1987 - 1994 for the most of it. I always suspected it would stay there until it all rotted away.
  21. I remember I bought that Boba Fett Vs IG-88 2-pack for a laugh back in '97 or '98.. it just spiralled from there. About the same time I discovered ebay and I was able to mine my nostalgia for toys I loved as a kid. Then I discovered hobbylink japan. So here I am today, in my computer room surrounded by thousands of dollars worth of toys in shelves on every wall looking at me.
  22. someone take those links down... I so want one now. good lord, what would international shipping BE for that thing??
  23. great work.. if the Froating Head saw these pics he'd slap himself for not adding the extra hardpoints himself.
  24. nice pics! Bit small for the price for me though. although there aren't a lot of options when it comes to buying SDF's. I got the old little matchbox one made from the taka mold and hated that POC.
  25. cool news.. if it is a gun I am guessing it would have to be boxed in robot mode due to customs being not to happy about importing of replica guns.
