    It's official!!!

this post seems like just an excuse to brag about your 5 fast packs.... (seethes with envy)
  2. The Yamato 1/48 has the best fighter mode and an innovative transformation sequence. It can't transform like they do in the show because the show transformation is ludicrous. It doesn't look quite the same as the show vf-1s in gerwalk and batteloid because the show versions are drawings of what the designer figured a robot would look like if it was created by folding up that jet. IMO when you come across differences between the yamato 1/48 toy and the line art, the yamato wins. See, if you take a jet that looks like the vf-1 fighter mode and fold it up into a robot it will look EXACTLY like a yammie 1/48.... However, if you take a robot that looks like the line art from the show and reconfigure it into a jet, you would have some metal thing that resembles some form of water fowl. maybe I will draw a picture of said metallic bird-thing and post it later. we can have a poll and see how many people would be willing to buy such a toy with a perfect battaloid mode and silly, silly alt modes.
  3. I never watched robotech or macross. I buy a lot of transformers. I never liked that show when I was a kid. I just like the toys. I LOVE those Yamatos, all scales... Macross or Macross plus. I consider them to be a form of pop art sculpture. Something the viewer actually enjoys interacting with. the fact that mass prodution is involved just adds more challenge to the design. I marvel at a toys design and beauty. Even though I never had robotech or macross toys way back when (not even jetfire) I get a warm feeling holding a toy and looking at all its little details. I don't know how a chunky monkey or powermaster optimus prime reissue inspires such nostalgia in me (i never even saw either of those toys when I was younger)
  4. I voted Macross plus. buuuuuuut I REALLY want a vf-2! but I'd buy a yf-21. It would be cool if they made a macross7 toy with a radio built in and working speakers on its shoulders. that would be hilarious.
  5. What's up... I LOVED my 1/60's and then I got a 1/48 and I was blown away. It was the perfect toy! I couldn't even comprehend the beauty of the 1/48. But as time went on, I got used to the 1/48. I noticed it's flaws. I nitpicked. and unfortunately, by comparison, my 1/60 started resembling crap to me. but one day I sat and stared at one of my 1/60's. I admired it's good points. I remembered what it was I liked so much about. I fell in love with it all over again. Then I looked at one of my 1/48's and I was like,"HOLY CRAP!!!!! THAT THING IS AMAZING!!!!!" and all my yammies were things of wonder to me again. I still buy 1/60's after owning 3 1/48's. I am annoyed by people who talk badly of 1/60 and 1/72 yammies (and even chunkey monkeys) saying that they've "been spoiled" by the 1/48. Owning a 1/48 wont do any permanent damage to you view of 1/60. But, 1/48's really are as cool as the most shining reviews make them out to be. I recommened you BEG yamato to take your money and in return give you a 1/48. Owning one is the coolest thing a valk fan can do, seriously.... I mean it.... it rules..... go get one.....
  6. I like the notion of them being good and tight. Tight!

    I got my VE-1

*sarcastic_voice* Yeah, that yammie VE-1 is totally bogus... it can't even begin to compare to tha old chunky monkey from Bandai . I mean, sometimes I see a photo of the Bandai and I think, "am I looking at the original line art or what?" */sarcastic_voice* Seriously though, what's a VE-1 without its special radar equipment? Why remove it? and secondly, you could see the shape of the nose since forever ago. I mean, I don't have one... but even I can see that it's got a stubby nose.
  8. I've been reading these here MW forums since the yamato 1:60 vf-1a hikaru came out. but this is my first post. you are a godsend! I broke my 1/48 hikaru the day I got it... In my defense though, Graham did the same thing (see his supplimental review of said valk). Backpack hinge/ BP8/ 1:48/ Hikaru type VF-1a If I get my hands on such a part..... oh I dream of such a thing...
