i thought it was a fitting end and a great irony, that despite her almost god-like stature she died ultimately because of all too human failings -- compassion and trust. but that is not the irony. rather, it's that she had wanted turn back from her nature to be human again. and she succeeded. in that brief time with claire and at the moment of her death, she was unquestionably human.
i was stunned by her abrupt death. even when the scene reminded me of the optimus vs megatron final batle, even when the screen panned to show her adversary picking up the sword again, i was thinking Teresa would be able to parry this and still deliver the coup de grace. that speaks volumes of how they developed this character. in being human she had let her guard down and trusted completely. i was in disbelief as she fell, i was like WTF... oh my sweet Teresa..
had she died after a long rocky balboa duel to the finish, or even if she died a sacrificial death, the effect would have been different and i would argue, the emotional impact much less. the abruptness made it unexpected, and intensified the emotion by concentrating it in one stab straight through the heart. that her brief time with claire was her happiest was little consolation, but was poignant and strangely uplifting.
i would've wanted to see more of Teresa, i wanted to know more of her story, but that was not to be. if they ever do a spin-off telling of how Teresa became a claymore, her escapades, and how she came to be Teresa of the Faint Smile, i will be the first to line up at the counter.
read the manga at onemanga.com
she has some mini series there... how she killed number 2... how reckless shes was when just started etc
anyway just finished episode 4 of Mnemosyne. hehehe! nice anime to watch when you dont have anything else.

-
i wonder if they would make a perfect transformation for the valk and vajra...
-
Some decent animes i watched over a span of a year.
sword fighting
Shigurui - badass samurai series. its like watching an old school samurai movie. nothing fancy.... speed wins
Sword of the Stranger (Movie) - a good lone samurai movie
Guardian of the Spirit - about a bodyguard spearwoman. i like spears so try watching the first two eps first before downloading everything.
sci fi
code geass(ongoing season 2) - decent fighting mechs, nice plot twists
heroic age - man vs other races in the galaxy. some humans now have the power to teleport, heal...
moonlight mile season 1 and 2 - 2 best buds who got tired of climbing the everest now wants to go the moon.
-
woah! Dante's collection is already that many since 1989? im actually afraid to see his collection now.
-
I'm off to transform it, see ya's in an hour.
:::EDIT::: Fighter mode is tight like a nervous virgin!
WAHAHAHA!
well we are practically virgins when we get our first valks. everything is SO tight at first. we have to be slow and careful in handling the valk the first time, otherwise we might BREAK it. the more often we transform them the FASTER we can do it.
and you actually feeeel so good when you transform it the first time

the buyer might also be filthy rich and the seller dirt poor.

anyway haven't you felt to urge to just buy something no matter how much it cost...

-
does anyone have a picture of the YF 21 and YF 19 together that we can salivate on?
OT:
proper = wicked ?
i heard posh spice say MAJOR...
proper = wicked = major ???

finally its here.

HA! Wait till the Destroids and the 1/60 redesigned VF-1S come out. Then you say will I gotta have it. Welcome to my world.

EDIT: Grammar corrections.
hahahaha! yeah! i know that feeling man. that you just gotta have it no matter what. i can't even work lately.
i think i can make it (i hope)... i still have those matchbox destroids.
what would really kill me ... if they started making making regult or Nousjadeul-Ger in 1/60. now i can really amass a bunch of those. now you can make a good diorama with just focker, hikaru, max, kakizaki vs a dozen of them.
-
i think we should just wait. no amount of company bashing would matter anyway.
-
ok i thought i was mad... buying all the macross stuff that i can see. maaaaaan.... godzilla. you really are on crack. hehehe!
anyway as long as it makes you happy.
my girlfriend actually gave me a ceiling price for my toy purchases for this year. i think i understand now why i should have a ceiling price...
i already spent $1.5k total within 3 weeks on chunkies and yamatos.
anyway i just promised her that my last purchase for the year would be a YF 19 and YF 21 and then I'll stop.... and then resume next year.
-
i guess its only natural for anyone to rant/feel angry if he thinks that his yamato toy did not give them their money's worth. it is a pricey toy. this is a macross forum. now dont you think its only natural for someone to rant about macross toys in a macross forum.
-
i just want the max figure for my Yamato Q-Rau Max type. I'll be getting it next week. I hope they fit.
-
i like yamato toys because they are big and detailed. those threads/posts about weak yamato parts help me avoid the same mistakes that they did to their toys. if they say the arms are weak and fragile, then i'll be careful on handling the arms. if they say the control panel on VF 0S get broken on most toys, then i wont push on it and push on the pilot instead.

Bandai doing Macross frontier gives me mixed feelings.
Im also a fan of gundam kits/figuration/zeonography and so far im quite satisfied with the design and articulation they are doing. If they are going to design and make a series of Macross Frontier toys(from ground up) with the same quality they give on their gundam toys I believe we're in for a little treat.
I dont think they'll redesign the first gen Katoku/Bandai toys since its a classic. If you say theyre too simple, it wouldnt matter. People will still buy it.
Anyway there was some bashing about the Yamato Konig Monster in this thread and my opinion would be that he's not ENTIRELY correct. The Konig Monster is one of the most COMPLICATED toys out there. You have to fiddle with it for a bit to fully understand how to LOCK everything in place.
-
i just want the VF 1A Max.
http://www.kks.jp/~kks-library/neta-data3/...-bandai-d14.jpg
anyway it looks like they really got the license for the Macross Frontier.
-
this would be a real help if it were to be true...
-
Maybe when you get there if you are not there already you will stumble across one.
That would be cool eh?!?
nope no luck on finding a 1/60 YF-21 in HK last week. anyway the HK guide to where you should look for macross toys should be updated.
The only places I was able to look for macross items where Richmond Centre and Toyzone in Causeway Bay.
-
PATIENCE - if you're beginning to loose your patience in transforming that valk, put it down walk away. its better to resume some other time than to damage that toy just because your in a hurry to see the gerwalk and battroid mode. there are some good reviews over youtube about VF 1A and YF 19 that you can actually use as a tutorial in how to transform your valk.
the only macross item there that does not have a video is the Konig Monster.
anyway just go for the valk that you like. you'll never go wrong with playing with what you like.
-
no news yet? lol. I actually delayed my trip to HK from early april to first week of may so I can get first dibs on this bad boy. i should have known that they would be late on releasing this.
-
hehehe! now everybody is fighting here. chill guys. everybody likes macross here.
ok in my opinion... the best valk out there is 1/60 VF 0S(i know its not a VF 1S). in terms of quality and details he's the man... thats for good guys.
you might as well get a 1/60 SV 51. Nova or Ivanov type it does not matter, but i like the ivanov better. I think that this one is one bad dude. i find myself just staring at it sometimes. just get the simple VF 0S without the ghost booster.
I think that yamato toys are for playing. they are built so that the joints and hinges would stay as sturdy as the day you bought them.
Bandai items on the other hand are more like collectibles to me. they are masterpieces that i would like to admire behind my glass cabinets. =) they rust and turn yellow when proper sunblock is not applied. =)

is this some kind of teaser? where are the goods? =)

i was just looking around yamato website and saw this
you can view other comparison images here
http://www.yamato-toys.com/dev/cont_049/index_2.html
im sorry if this was already posted.
anyway im still at lost on what scale to collect myself. i like the 1/48 because i like its size. it also looks better alongside macross plus/zero 1/60 valks. to me its just weird that zero planes are 18 meters long, SDF valks are 14 meters and then it went to 18 meters again in macross frontier...
