    Flashback to good times.

Love it. I checked and it looks like I have seven CF 1-As now- two with DYRL missiles, two with TV missiles, two in different OWL armors, and one in GBP that I'm eventually going to custom into the black and red one from the big battle in "Love Flows By".

"Hi Metal" is just a brand name, just like Subway's "foot long" subs. Only a fool would expect a sandwich called a "foot long" to be 12 inches. :p

Totally, my foot is nowhere near 12 inches.

IS that the correct 001 on a separate tail fin? 🤔

I think it is the correct edition on the toy with the incorrect version as an add-on (for thsoe who want this consistent with their other previously incorrect modex numbers on their DYRL toys.

Next up- Bandai sells replacement fin with corrected modex for all the previous DYRL DX toys as TWE. Only $50 each!

Does anyone have the B2Five Yellow figure? It appears I received two right-hand bracers/gauntlets for mine. In bike mode, if I point the motorcycle to the right, the number is "10". If I point the bike to the left, the number is an upside down 10. Does anyone have the 10 look right in both directions? I just want to confirm it's a packaging issue for the one I have and not a universal problem.

    Mine is 10s, luckily.

Curious- did you get the Mospeada branded version or the Robotech branded version? I was going to get both but talked myself out of it and canceled my Japan order (keeping the BBTS one), so I think I ended up with just the RT-branded.

Honestly, I'd have even settled for a second Hikaru to put in the Fan Racer...

I think I stole one of from my 1/60 Yammie 1Ds to pop in he fan racer- I always have it in battroid mode, so I felt I could get away with it.

Question for everyone. How often do you transform your HMR and the joints and tabs still good after multiple transformations?

I occasionally pull some down to play with them and have never had joint problems.

I really appreciate this. Really informative, and glad to know it now.

Still, this information is only accessible or hunted by the serious Macross 'Collectors'.

I have plenty of friends, that even remember some of the lines of plus and 7, yet, know close to zero about the collectors market behind Macross. They sometimes buy maybe a Eva statue, or Gundam or a figure of Jujutsa, a shelf filler, because they're main interest is solely the anime.

But sometimes, it feels there's this impression that loving Macross means loving the collectables religiously. Its not like that, just for any other franchise. There are thousands of Star Wars for example, that only collect the comics, the lightsabers and don't care about the toys. I have a friend that's only cased about the helmets.

So we cannot always expect a positive reaction from someone that came about Zero for the first time in their life yesterday, then suddenly wants a momentum of it and goes to Amazon, and says, "Oh wow, Hi Metal, this must piece with have quite an amount of metal. And it's made by Bandai, I believe they're good. Cool, add to cart."

I still disagree mainly because Macross is a niche market (and Mac Zero even more niche). This isn't something you just stumble upon looking around a physical store- this is something someone clearly went looking for Mac Zero goodies on Amazon and bought it. It would be like being into the Star Wars character Sabine, searching her out on Amazon, finding her Black Series figure, then being mad that the figure wasn't dressed in black.

Show only the box cover to your non-collector friends, and ask them what they think the figures are mostly made of? The will say metal, so casual buyers are not at fault.

I would buy this argument except for the fact that Macross is a niche market, with Mac Zero even more so.

I know when I first heard about the HMR line and saw the reviews, I thought the same thing. Hi-Metal with barely any metal huh? Pass. Then I got a Regult and was so blown away with how good it was I ended up getting ever single HMR release with many multiples and never looked back.

While I am not as crazy as you, I do have most of the releases and too many multiple of cannon fodders and Hikaru VF-1Js. The one that got me in was I got the Monster. And the Monster looked lonely, so I got a Defender and Spartan. And then I said I needed a glaug. And a regult. And the missile regults because I needed some of those. And some more regults. I finally bit on a Valk by convincing myself that I didn't have the Messer Memorial scheme on any other releases. It's been all downhill since then.

I think that it is really cool him standing next to the XB-70 Valkyrie with the VF-1J Valkyrie.  I wonder when this was taken?

I noticed in the thread talking about the Bandai DX Chogokin YF-21 that showed up at Otacon 2023 that in addition to the YF-21 and YF-19, they also had the Bandai Hi-Metal R VF-0S and the VF-4A.  Could this mean that Bandai is fixing to release the VF-4A under the WWM banner?  I would not mind picking up the VF-4A Hi Metal R, I have the VF-4G in Focker colors, and it is a good toy, but I would like the Hi-Metal R version to be available here, in the US at a US e-tailer.

    Twich

Apparently it was taken when he was on the way to Otakon in DC- so just a few days ago.

With additional 1/12 Miriya figure only through KC's site.  $179.90 offer for 14 days.

I am hating this coloration so much and not just for the metallic. The use of white is awful- white wings, white airbreak, white nosecone., white feet/engine nozzles. It's like they had a full colored one in photoshop and started randomly turning parts white.

As a toy collector in this day & age I've come to several avenues of practice to get around the tight noose of bloated tax's.

Ebay, Mercari & Likes will report you for selling that exceeds $600 and send you an I-99, last year by the time I paid Fed 30% tax ,state, local + hit for shipping I only got 31cents for every dollar on things I was only breaking even on. like others have pointe out bypass Ebay if you can.

Post also on the biggest three TF forums too, sometimes those guys will buy anything  resembling Jetfire or that just Transforms

Sell on CL & FB and offer to also ship for a small fee, take cash local and to ship only take a personnel check after it clears or a Gift through Paypal (not a business payment) or use something like Cash App.

Sell a few on Ebay just offer to take payments by personnel check then once cleared (ask bank how long to hold after cleared to be safe) you can ship while also offering a 10% discount for those who pay by check while also letting them know they will not have to pay state states a 10% further discount + free shipping for a total of 20%plus off there order, once they contact you for check mailing address mark the sale as payment pending then after the transaction is over just wait two weeks then cancel order by inputting you could not find there address or something else that does not strike your account or there's.

Any fast sales of your entire collection at once could be a challenge if your not willing to piece it all out over a few months.

For the I-99 thing, for future tax dealings, make sure you remove the basis on the goods you sell- your income is not the sales amount but the actual money you made. So if you paid $250 for something and sell it on ebay for $300, you may get an I-99 for $300, but you only made $50 in income due to your $250 basis in there.

Not that I do tax economics for a living or anything. 😁

Thanks! I was thinking of doing some MPC and Sentinel pics together. Did anyone ever figure out a glue that would resolve this break on the MPC?

I haven't found one yet. I just have left mine all in fighter mode. My Blue Scott was the one that collapsed like this, so keeping it in fighter mode and attached to the beta has been my best option. That and never touching it. lol

Luckily, my hands are all intact on every one of mine.

Is this the MEPTOYS one?  I got an email for my shock trooper preorder saying they weren’t making the shock trooper after all

Yep- they couldn't get things prepped in time before their license expired. The scouts were more fiddly than Carlos liked, so he cancelled and refunded everyone's orders and sold the scouts at a steep discount. He might still have some.

    He still has some:
