Rupert would make a great Bond for looks. However the actor has to be a bit of a stud muffin to be able to pull off the role. A gay actor would not be believable, (not a slur against gays,) and the film would be ridiculed. The whole idea about Bond is that he's a man's man. He is 100% heterosexual, he's arrogant, womanising, and has a 12 inch tongue, and a 15 inch penis.

As to Robbie Williams getting it.......... err no, no, no and NO !!! Its just wrong, in fact its a travesty against nature

I sincerely hope that Bana doesn't get it, and that Christian Bale does. Because at the moment I think us Brits could do with a brit getting the role. After all the character is british. So far we've had one brit. Roger Moore, (old wiggly eyebrows himself,) and the other have been: Scottish (Connery) Australian (Lazenby) British (Moore) Welsh (Dalton) Irish (Brosnan) If the trend continues it will be either an American or a New Zealander ext, but I sincerely hope we get Bale. Having a brit in the role again will certainly give us brit Bond fans a boost. (National pride and everything.) Im just wondering if they'll be doing more filming near my house again. (The Korean hovercraft scene was filmed next to Aldershot Garrison. (Half a mile from my house.)

BTW Im looking at doing stats and occ's for personnel and material in the Macross Zero era. The VF-0, SV-51, Asuka II, and Octo stats are all up on the UN Spacy Database We may even begin a Macross Zero era, or UN War era campaign.
-
True Boxer, but everything in the Macross series' and OVA's carries fighters. (Macross Zero not included though.) They seem to have replaced the helicopters carried by all of todays naval ships from frigates to destroyers to carriers.
-
You forgetting though Eugimon, that different Navies have different idea's about classes and naming conventions. For example te US Navy has lots of Frigates, Cruisers, (of a number of classes,) Destroyers, Carriers, gunboats, etc, etc. The Royal Navy in comparison has NO cruisers at all. Plenty of offshore patrol boats, (Fishery Protection Vessels and Riverboat defence,) and lots of Type 22 and Type 23 Frigates, Type 42 Destroyers, three Aircraft Carriers, 1 Helicopter Landing Platform, (which Chinook pilots keep hitting the back of,) and a couple of Assault Ships, and about a dozen replenishment and supply vessels. But no Cruisers. Although we used to use Cruisers during the 2nd World War. We even used to have monitors, but they aren't something we use anymore. Its evidentally not the case with the Japanese as they have stuck to methods that work for them. Its odd though that the Japanese Navy would though, as almost all of their ships are repackaged US Navy ships. SDF Website http://www.jda.go.jp/e/index_.htm JSDF Maritime Navy Ship & Equipment List http://www.jda.go.jp/JMSDF/data/equip/index_e.html And for those of us who can't read Japanese http://www.hazegray.org/worldnav/asiapac/japan.htm

Still currently working on the background and links colours. Any suggestions would be great.

Well I have to say that your lucky that D20 has a mecha generation system. Palladium doesn't. But then its a simplistic and easy to learn system. Probably the reason why I've spent nearly a decade creating the stats for every single Macross ship, mecha, vehicle, etc. I think Im going to have to take a trip to the Games Shop in Aldershot at the weekend at get this D20 Mecha book......that is if my wife lets me spend money. (Ebaygirl hogs all the money for our up and coming holiday.)

Well you might be interested to know Zero Enna, that the current campaigns of the Macross RPG Galaxies site are set in 2050. But we are looking at providing campaigns for other era's as well, hence the questing inquiry by Roy As we provide the site for gamers we want to know what you want to play, in fact we have a discussion thread going at the MRG for just that purpose on our Open Discussion Board
-
Im wondering if it is perhaps their attempt to best explain the purpose of the ship. As its hardly a gunboat. Gunboats being (in a naval sense,) boats and not ships. The ships in question aren't quite destroyers, but are bigger than frigates. Maybe they are trying to find a way of pigeon holing them between the two without calling them cruisers.

Nanashi.....I was joking when I said it wasn't attached and it was giving Shin the bird.

Just a brief talking point, although anyone having any idea on dimensions will be treated to a week in a top class spa, (when Im a millionare author and sell more books than JK Rowling =) Anyone have any views on the reasons for the QF-2001 and why it exists ?? As its evident from the original series that there is already a QF aircraft that functions quite well. Or is it that the QF-2001 is like the VF-0, a test bed. Or a UN Navy only version, or about to be phased out. There seems little point in creating two machines of the same type for the same purpose. Modern aircraft are designed and bought for specific purposes. For example the RAF utilise the Tornado for the Air Superiority Fighter role and occasionally as a Fighter/Bomber, the Jaguar is used as a Bomber, and the Harrier (GR8 used by the RAF, or FA/2 used by the Royal Navy, are multi-role, multi capability aircraft. Each aircraft has a specific role, or roles, with only a small amount of blurring of purposes. We don't have say, the Tornado for air superiority roles, and then buy a load of F/A-18's (Currently flying over my house as the Farnborough International Airshow is taking place 1.5 miles away, and boy is it swarming with Police - terror alert state VERY HIGH) to fill the exact same role. The only way we'd do that is if we were intending on replacing the Tornado with the Hornet. Thus it seems daft (bearing in mind production times for aircraft,) to have two Ghost Fighters in such close proximity time wise. Dan (Tommorrow I get to go to Farnborough and drool all over the F-117, and the Red Arrows Display Team, CCCCOOOOOOLLLL)
-
Actually I don't think the Ghost Drone is actually attached. Its doing a TopGun. The AI is giving Shin the bird he he he

gurgle gurgle gurgle drool drool drool Sooooo swwwweeeeettt, too long to wait. GGGGGRRRRR !!!! Cheers Graham

Actually just had a revelation. (Please wait whilst Dan picks himself off the floor after the blinding flash slaps him on the forehead =) Why would the UN 'NEED' to know or disclose the details of Maya. Sara's abilities as witnessed would certainly be considered as extraordinary, (enough for her o be carried off kicking and screaming to some secret lab to be tested on for the rest of her life,) but they have no mass value. Of course 40-50 years after Macross Zero is what event ?? Hint: Think Fire Bomber, Think Protodeviln, think.......ANIMA SPIRITIA !!! I'll calmly wait whilst everyone goes DOH Sound Force and their 'emergence' as Anima Spiritia would certainly throw light on Sara and the events of 2008. The top brass and/or scientists would be slapping themselves going... "So THAT was what that was all about !!" It would show to people in 2045/46 looking back on the events of 2008 that there ability has always been there. Plus that the Protocultures messed with us goooooood Rattles and big Tonka trucks, and anything to do with those irritating Telly Tubbies, (please forgive us, we didn't mean to unleash them on the world,) are for kids. Fully transformable Macross Mecha, non-transformable models of Queadlunn-Rau, are for the big boys and girls.

OOPS, replace the first mention of birdman with head. As in why is the head returning to the body. As to the fudging, where did you get the idea I was referring to Misa, Global, top brass ?? I was referring to the way of linking in the new story with the material rpoduced and published over 20 years ago. With such a massive gap, and wanting to create a great story it wouldn't suprise me that Kawamori-San would throw in some stuff which would require some fudging. The biggest fudge so far is the 'the events were kept secret, and wouldn't be revealed for 40/50 years'. Its simply a way of doing what you want within your own work or someone elses and then giving a flimsy explanation as to why it happens, and that no one else knows about it. Why is it secret for so long ?? Could well be the survivors who knew the inside scoop were told to keep quiet. But also the fact that most of them would be dead within a year, and the few that survived would be killed within another year or two, (Roy.) That way only secret files locked away, and not discovered for 40 or 50 years, or perhaps a re-emergence of the birdman/AFOS, would result in discovery of the events of 2008.
-
Why is the birdman looking to destroy life on earth ??? Kind of leads to why is it running away ?? Or is it simply running to...the AFOS. But then, couldn't it had done that a lot earlier. Perhaps Sara woke it ?? I know that the official story is that Vrlitwhai and his Fleet were doing a cleanup, but its kind of like the C3PO, and R2D2 scenario's. Why does Anakin/Darth Vader not recognise R2 and 3PO in the original films, or they recognise him ?? Fudging !!! Its a great way of tying a story in. It also generally involves a little taking of what you have and then making the rest up and sticking your fingers in your ears and go LA LA LA LA LA when everyone points the holes. (If Lucas can do it why not anyone else ?) I just have a sneaking suspicion that this is what may happen with Vrlitwhai's Fleet. It could be written in that they pickup a signal from the Birdman, and then a little later on, the SDF-1, or the other way round. Prompting them to put Earth on their 'Investigate quick theres something wierd going on there', list. Back to the song of destruction.....would the protoculture race really want to destroy beings like themselves that they've waited millenia for them to evolve in to a like state ?? Unless of course the Birdman has a chemical/biological failsafe weapon for use against us if we develop in to a violent and aggressive race that could potentially be a threat to the protoculture race. If so, the Birdman certainly didn't get a very good impression of us when the Anti-UN attack Maya

Just a quickie theory, one that I proposed over at the MRG regarding the comments in Episode 4 about the bird-man's song of destruction and head being severed. It seems that the head will become reattached to the body, and we have no idea of what this song of destruction is. My theory is that its simply an attempt by the bird-man to communicate with the Protoculture, (primitive cultures may consider the communications noises to be a song, and these cultures generally have dire views of most things.) So Vrlitwhai's Fleet would not have in fact been attracted to Earth by the SDF-1, but in fact by the communique from the Bird-Man. Just a wild guess, but could make sense. Otherwise Vrlitwhai got lost on the way after picking up the signal from the SDF-1 10 years after it crashed. A year or 9 months gap seems more plausable. So Im thinking it will be a cameo from Vrlitwhai and Exedol.

Not a problem, ceers anyway Nanashi. I may have to beg my wife to hand draw and scan a larger side version of the ship.

Thats the one. Cheers I found it in my copy of Perfect Memory after posting earlier. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any other sources of line art or clear imagery of the Gun Destroyer.
-
Cheers chaps. http://macross.anime.net/mecha/zentradi/sh...oyer/index.html Don't know why I thought it was called the Monitor Corrected it though now. Just wondered if anyone knew where the original line art came from. Which book ??
-
Anyone know where I can find some good line art images of the Zentraedi Monitor ?
-
Thanks Prime The UNSD is a labour of love One thats been up and running for about 7-8 years now. When it gets to 10 Im throwing a massive party LOL Well Tekkaman, the Macross-15 Campaign used to be at the MRC, and prior to that it was at the MRN, (now AMRN, or whatever its changed its name to, I don't keep track.) It is now however in its permanent home The M-15 Campaign is set in early 2050, so not that long after M7.

Well a plot idea for you.... I've always wondered if perhaps the Megaroad-01 was in fact mis-jumped. It went far further than it was supposed to and has ended up in another galaxy. Sound far fetched ?? Not really as the Supervision Army, and vast majority of the zentraedi left our galaxy around the time of the second world war, and went to another galaxy. The Megaroad-01 could always drop in to that. It would be perfect for Minmay as they'd be uncultured zentraedi
