  1. Not everybody got them. I guess I totally missed out on getting one. That's what I get for letting my job get n the way of my hobby life Anyway, VERY nice work. For a first resin, you should be VERY proud of yourself. I recently picked up a couple SHE VF-5000's and seeing your VF-4 makes me want to build them.
  2. Mine just came. I was thinking of locking it in gerwalk mode as I have 2 wave batroids. Any opinion on how the Wave kits would look next to this?

    1/500 SDF-1

You guys HAVE to see this: http://www.actoys.net/bbs/read.php?tid=105393
  4. I really have to give you credit. THe combination of soft resin and hard metal screws has alway frightened me off from such kits. Really good job!
  5. Got mine in the mail today. It's begging me to be built. It looks a bit more sturdy than the VF-1. I'll post some pics in a bit.
  6. That's not a design issue as much as a ballast issue. THe Gundam MG kits have PVC internals that add weight to the lower logs to compensate for the bulk of the torso and arms. You can acheive the same results by glueing fishing weights to the insides of the lower legs.
  7. Nice work, the 2500's are interesting kits. Here is the TOS Enterprise I'm still working on: In progress pics in the link underneath In progress pics: http://kitbash.net/scifi/toses/
  8. Agreed. AND YES, I know the YF-1R is the Bastard step child of Macross designs, but Macross loyalty aside, I think the head is hot. SO I think it would look cool on a Hasegawa body. Can anybody takea pick of the figure next to a Hasegawa battroid kit?
  9. What scale are these figures? If 1/72 I want to rip the head off and mod it into a hasegawa battroid kit. http://www.valkyrie-exchange.com/Images/To...mp/DSC01397.jpg
  10. I'll have to check out R10. I couldnt find the link on HLJ.
  11. Hi All, I need to get replacement decals for the Hasagawa VF-1D trainer fighter and the VF-1J Max/Milia 2 pack set. I know Rainbow Ten and others offer replacement Bandai parts and decals. But what about Hasagawa? Thanks in advance, D.
  12. Trust me. The parts are every bit as detailed as their plastic Hasagawa counter parts! I just want to make clear parts for the head of mine.
  13. Hey guys, I just got mine in the mail. It' s a sweet little set. They have them at: http://www.starshipmodeler.com/cfstore/ind...&product_id=115
  14. I hope they air it on BBC America. This show brings back alot of memories. Not sure I'm liking the new control room. But I shall have to wait and see.
  15. Your not weird. I used Future on my 1/60 Freedom and it got nasty white scratches when I posed the wings. No more Future for me.
  16. He's a good guy. Most Macross World-ers would know him from the replacement heads and cockpit shields he previously made and sold for the 1/55 Joons/Bandai Vf-1 toys.
  17. IF you mean of the show, htere will be no pics until after it is over. If you mean Chris Barretta's work, you can see some here: http://www.blue-devil.net/mrzaku/
  18. Tekkoshocon Model Contest The Pittsburgh anime convention Tekkoshocon is holding it's first anime model competition: Rules and regs here: http://www.tekkoshocon.com/modeling.html Oh and you may recognise 1 of the judges http://www.tekkoshocon.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1412 So that should tell you how good it could be.
  19. I dealt with him in the past. He is in Hong Kong. He is a great guy to do business with. You can feel safe buying from him.

    Dry Decals

Another consideration is the surface that you are mounting the rub-on decal should be gloss painted, or atleast gloss coated for the rub-on to adhere properly. then a proper clear coat should be added after the decal is in place to seal and protect it.
  21. No, they swapped out a tree, so you don't get left over wings or shoulders. Only the 2 differant F/S heads.
  22. For the modelling community recast of these kits are good. Especially for those who live outside of Japan who would have a snowballs chance in Hades of getting them otherwise. I don't feel that recasts effect the serious collectors market as collectors are only after an original for it collectable/investment value. I once recieved an email from a person chastizing me for building a numbered limited edition resin kit and posting pics. My response to him was, "I'm a modeller not a collector. If I can't build it, I don't want it."

    Hobbyfan.com

Hobbyfan is a very good business to deal with. But as others have indicated, the quality of their recasts will vary. I've gotten good and below average recasts from them.
  24. I think the only time I every did that was for the WAVE 1/100 VF-11. I think a point needs to be made about recasts for personnal use as opposed to recasts to be sold for profit. I have a collection of the old Tect 1/144 conversions for the Macross 7 1/144's. They are hard to come by, and the ones that I own have been recast for my personnal use. (I.E. I want to make variations, or multiples of the same kit example: VF-11 Gerwalk with fast pack and one without). So I recast alot of kits and parts for my own purposes. I factor in the cost of RTV (not cheep) VS the cost of buying another kit. And it can come out 50/50 either way. As for buy recasts, I don't have a problem with buying recast of event only kits. I also buy recasts of B-club kits still in production. I have bought b-club originals in the past and will continue to do so. However there are certain instances that B-club, being a sub-company of Bandai/Sunrise, jacks up the price on Gundam resin kits way too much. 14490 Yen for an 0080 GM Sniper conversion, etc. So I choose, as a consumer, to flip them off for thier greed and buy a recast for 1/3rd the price.
