I wasn't a super fan of Arad's color scheme, plus I've already got two -31s, with a -31A ordered, but seeing it in full DX glory is making me second guess my decision. I could always try to get a preorder, since it doesn't come out for a few months, and change my mind later.
Though that'd mean I'd need to jump on a hopeful reissue of Messer's ride for completion sake, I'm already planning on getting Chuck's for the different color (and radome).

Dang it, missed the -29, something I’d like to add to my collection, either a renewal Vf-25 or a YF-29.
Anyway, HLJ haul today! It’s a new year, which means a new super sentai team (well, two this year), and I’m a fan of the mecha/gimmick again.
Plus a Robot Damashii that I missed out on the first time around.

True, guess the toy is a bad reference point. More what I mean is that the shape of the exterior bulge they added to the 22 is nothing even close to the shape of the gunpods. Could be further internal changes, I just always found it very suspicious that gunpods that tapered toward the front would fit in fairings that tapered the opposite direction (and had embedded missile launchers, to boot).
It's all animation magic anyway, I'd just be really interested to see an internal diagram of where the gunpods were meant to go.
I had forgotten the VF-22 had missile launchers in there. It's crazy how packed with stuff most variable fighters' legs are, like how the VF-31 has the engines, joint mechanisms, landing gear mechanics, missile launchers, and drone bays.
Back to the VF-22, I had always wondered how the missile launcher mechanism manages to wrap around both sides of the gunpod's muzzle.

Is that just a toy thing, or is that actually a stated design difference? I thought both designs made use of a bay for their gunpods.
YF-21 the gunpods are mounted externally and are exposed.
VF-22 gunpods are mounted in the same spot, but have a stealth housing for them.

VF-31C super parts ordered!

If it does come with all those goodies and a stand, I probably won't be able to resist, even with being satisfied with my Arcadia.

No tilt, just a couple of pegs to rotate on.

My VF-2SS arrived today, need more time to fiddle with it.
One minor issue, the left shoulder armor doesn’t appear to have been properly glued together. It was just loose in the tray under the battroid.

And if so, does it ship with one gunpod or two? I guess one from the photos shown so far.
It doesn’t look like it can store the gunpod at all. I’d guess it comes with one gunpod and a swappable effect part to show the gunpod being ejected from the arm armor.

Minor point of clarification: The shields don’t rotate during transformation, the pointy end stays toward the hands.
This is consistent with the boxart, instructions, and in the model kits.
Trying to find a good screenshot from the series.
Wasn’t letting me upload directly, so here’s an imgur link.

Just ordered my Kairos.
I love the Siegfrieds, but this one is even sleeker looking, and the utilitarian color sceme gives it much more gravitas as credible military hardware.

Yesterday's delivery.
VF-31C, love the color and the head sculpt. Having two of them is making me regret passing on the -31F, if only for completion of Delta Platoon.
2017 Captain Phasma, has an actual metallic finish, updated head sculpt, hardpoint to stow her rifle, a sidarm, and her new spear, both compacted and extended.
And Roid's 1/72 262 kit. Not gonna touch the itasha decals, but I love the gold/white combo.

Oof, wasn't expecting Figuarts Phasma to come out at the same time. Oh well, paid now.
i was planning on shipping Mirage with Messer's VF-1S later, when I thought she was going to be coming out at the end of the month, like Bandai normally does. Just gonna ship her with Phasma and the 1/72 Roid 262 kit.

Since my Lill Draken set shipped and is en route, I decided now would be a good time to see about getting my unpaid preorder for Messer's VF-1S cancelled from N-Y.
Given the stories about occasionally shutting down accounts, I wanted to make sure that my exclusive item was already shipped before poking at it.
I preordered at HLJ, so that I'd be able to combine for shipping with other September purchases.
Turns out they cancelled no problem in the time it took me to type up this comment.

Mine shipped this morning, from N-Y, with no extra money needed!

Is that a Figuarts Zero figure? Doesn't look poseable at all. Too bad, if it were a proper figure I'd buy her, and the other pilots as well.
The Mirage in that pic?
Yeah, that's the Figuarts Zero.

I ended up cancelling my preorder for Millia.
After some thought I decided that I just didn't really want/need the figure, since I was getting it more out of a need for getting the matched set.

Looks like it took HLJ about 5 minutes to run out.
