Yep...just be exceedingly nice to the customer service person and say it was a birthday or graduation present and you don't have a receipt. they can sell it to someone else so they might as well make you happy and get you the movies you actually want...its better for their business...unless you got a total lemon of a movie.

Are there going to be any 2nd party Rock Band guitars for the 360 released anytime soon?

I haven't heard of any. But if there were high 1st run guitar failure rates on the 360 one could expect it to be some time before new guitars hit the shelves.

I'm not sure that there's really a "debate" anymore or that there's a legion of hardcore audiophiles/videophiles swearing by Monster Cables, so much as Monster Cables are still being thrust upon the uninformed masses.

I mean, we think in terms of what it costs us to buy something. To us, a $1000 LCD is more expensive and a bigger purchase than a $125 HDMI cable. But to Best Buy, that TV might cost them $800 to stock, and that cable might only cost them $25.

My sister worked for best buy corp when I purchased my HDMI cable (all the rest of mine came with something). Best buy wanted something like $79 for an 3' Acoustic Research brand HDMI. She got it for me for $16.50 or something like that. Its utterly rediculous how much mark up is on those things.

I've paid them back though...I just bought a 32" LG 720p LCD and after the price match to circuit city plus 10% plus a 10% off my entire purchase coupon----Best buy lost $50 on the TV.

I bought my PS3 in October. Best Buy customer service connected me with Sony and surprise no record of the request.

Sony asked for ten days and then they will get back to me.

Looks like I was too patient before I went sniffing about.

Who would believe that I was being patient.

10 days...is this a WMB search...it shouldn't take them more than a day. The big problem is, that sony isn't running it...its actually disney. Not only is it disney but disney is outsourcing it which makes it incredibly hard to get any information without waiting hours...and I mean hours to get somebody. When I called on mine (Bought PS3 in OCt07 got BRDvd's 8weeks later) I was on hold for 4 hours before they picked up and then said they were outsourcing it and try a new number. Then it took another week before I could actually get through to them.

Worse yet...they are running out of movies. For instance if you ordered the Italian Job expect to get Happy Feet. There was another movie that was like that too. I can't remember though since I took most of them back to Walmart, Best Buy, Kmart...whoever would accept them to exchange them for good movies.

Didn't the release date of the Dual shock get pushed back to May (and in short quantities) because of adding the new dualshock to the new 100gb and 120gb system boxes? If you want one just buy it through playasia...with an easy to find online coupon it comes to $52. and like $6 shipping.

dynasty warrior never gets good reviews but it always sells well.

Kinda like the dynasty warriors gundam game...or any gundam game for that matter...they never get good reviews but a usually fun to play. Dynasty warriors gundam is repetitive but is also really addicting.

Playasia.com sells a really nice set of universal component cables for the PS3 that also handles the PS2, Wii, and Xbox360 with a switcher for $20-30. I've got one and was very impressed with the picture improvement over composite cables. Well worth the money.

Does anybody know of a DVD player that will play H263, H264 and MKV files? Its time to buy another DVD player and I'm hoping I can find something that will play all of the anime I download. Thanks.

I got the SHCMP gundam for $30 at a local shop in the US. They have some special deal that gets them cheap gundam stuff. Even cheaper than I found stuff in japan.

Just go with SAL. Usually its about $10-12 shipping to the states for a medium size box. Yesterday I received a HLJ item that my wife ordered for me for x-mas.....too bad she mistakenly used EMS...for a small $14 item it was $19 shipping. EMS sucks!

How about some of the macross game characters for us hardcore fans. Maybe some one from VFX2 or M3. I wouldn't mind a character being the daughter or grand daughter of one of the original bridge bunnies (but didn't they all get killed). But I would want whatever guest character to be very minor.

I wouldn't mind hearing some Fire Bomber when one of the MF characters is in a music shop or seeing a vid of fire bomber on a screen in a bar. That might be cool.

Lets just hope that none of those rediculously painted Valkyries from Macross 7's amusement park celebration end up in it.

if you end up having trouble with EA shipping out your replacement guitars or drum pedals contact harmonix directly. I got fed up with EA's BS, 40 min hold times and delays so I called harmonix and they hooked me up with a high level support rep at EA who offered me everything but the kitchen sink. I ended up with

-3 free guitars (in addition to the one I already had being replaced)

-3 free EA games for the PS3.

-1 extra drum pedal in case mine ever fails...now I'm going to try hooking them both up at the same time.
