  1. I was able to attend and meet him today. I had my VF-1J chunky monkey re-issue and Perfect Memory signed. It was amazing to meet him in person. He was very nice and accomodating to fans. A lot of fellow fans brought a lot of their Macross stuff and his other works to be signed. Met a lot of other fans as well while in the queue.

If you're in the Philippines do try to go and meet him. Talked to some of the convention staff and they said he'll be at the Walk of Fame before and after his talk at 2pm tom Sun.

  2. Got my Perfect Memory back. Out 8 with the stripes, ships and mechs on the cover in silver paint/ink.

    Veffidas,

I got pretty much the same with what Gubaba had on the details you were looking for. I'd take pics when I get hold of a decent cam. Too bad I never took note of who I got it from so I could ask if it once had a poster with it.

  3. If it is an OUT 8, would you mind posting the numbers on the top right hand corner of the front cover (located within the small text above the two S's pictured here)? I'm still trying to pin down that reissue date.

Will do when i get it back.

  4. Wooh! A Macross TCG? Count me in, though I doubt they'll release it in English. Could be great fun if someone sets up a website with the cards translated. I doubt my basic level Nihongo would get me that far with these.

Is it released by packs like other TCGs? Or/And can I get a starter to play?

Hope they'll be easily available outside of Japan.

  5. See this post which was posted earlier in this topic here.

The Taiwanese have been pretty good at bootlegging in the past, from books to CDs. Actually, a lot of print material for distribution Hong Kong and Taiwan are pretty much simply officially sanctioned bootlegs; the quality is still pretty good but not quite near that used in the Japanese publications. (For instance, Mikimoto's art book Innocence, has a counterpart in the form of a large print collection named Pure for sale in Taiwan, which only included a subset of the artwork).

Thanks for the info. Seems like I got the original with OUT 8 and the book jacket was hard.

Still have to get it from the girlfriend to doublecheck since I left it with her after the convention.

  6. Hmm... that's how much I paid for my bootleg version of that book. Bootleg or not, it's still a good reference book. ^_^

How would you know if it's a bootleg? The paper and printing was good quality.

And how the heck do you bootleg a book like that?

  7. Got a second-hand copy of Perfect Memory at a local toy convention yesterday. No poster (didn't know it should have one) but in very good condition (plastic cover taped to cover though) My girlfriend found it with a bunch of other stuff from a booth seller's library. I'm not sure if it was a good deal at around 20 bucks but once I held it I knew I shouldn't let it go. :)

  8. im glad you all are still looking forward to my stuff.

    i am, too.

but GIRL TROUBLE happened to me and really it constantly drains the inspiration out of me.

broke down the walls of my psyche, raided the soft fleshy slush ive kept hidden away.

i never imagined it could actually affect the "sensitive artist" part of me but, damn, it really did hit me badly this time.

Gets under your skin, makes you miss a few heartbeats and deprives oxygen to the brain.

but i havent died yet and there are plenty of VF models to turn into a VFG.

just allow me time to regain myself.

please do stand by for further updates.

But the goggles. They do nothing! XP

I'm still hoping you'll finish the VF-1 girl costume.

  9. Nah, it's just a cheap, Chinese knockoff.

    (:p I'm a Lego Purist.)

It's not a cheap knock-off. It's Polidario Heavy Industries built.

And we get to hang-out with the VF Girls.

  10. 14 and 16, respectively.

Sucks, though, that they don't have actual callsigns. Just Squadron Number.

"This is Shamrock. So it looks like I'm Garuda-2. Ok, you lead the way and I'll follow your instructions. Never was good with directions, anyhow."

    Thanks.

Skull Squadron, 24 pilots but only four really matter.

  11. Roy was Skull-01 and Hikaru was Skull-11 (or at least that's what I heard while watching.)

What's Max's or Kakizaki's designation before Roy kicked the bucket?

How about the other Skulls. Any info about the rest of them.

I need the numbers for a shirt project I'll be making for my fellow Macross buddies.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  12. wat? an entire page without Macross Cosplay Pictures?!

    let's rectify:

    Poli,

Is the guy inside the valkyrie from the old orc group?

I found a few old pics of their valkyrie with me in my dyrl pilot suit from a con back in 'O4.

I'll scan and post 'em when I have the time.

Btw, were you at Cosplay Mania?
