Some info:

a) Kamina city human population = 300,000

b) Pretty weird social scale

c) Most beastmen living in Tepellin joined humanity thanks to Nia's influence. She also asked them to raise the sleeping newborns.

d) Ganmen battles are the popular underground sport, although Ganmen themselves are illegal in the city for being dangerous weapons rather than "sport" tools. A few outsider beastmen and humans sell weapons and gunmen to people outside the view of the law.

e) The number of resistance forces against the government is fairly big both in humans and beastmen. Weirdly, most beastmen that don’t follow the government are led by former direct enemies of Simon and the Dai-Gurren as if his influence had given them a higher degree of freedom and self-awareness.

Reminds me of Macross City and the aftermath of spacewar 1, the only thing missing is a huge Fokker statue....

I was left a little "eh" by this episode. I guess its to be expected after doing a 7 year time skip in the middle of a series.

Probably Gainax will release "Gurren Lagann: The Blank 7 Years" for a certain game console.....

Only a few dogfight scenes when Aiba's reminiscing, for the most part it's been techno-mythical adventure.

However, Ep. 16 shows that the newly developed soundwave-based weapons are being fitted onto mecha (Cockpit Armor), which will most likely alter its previously ineffective status.

Also, the new intro shows more mecha action (ships and mecha), will update when Ep.17 becomes available on Thursday.

Soundwave weapons? I hope no1 need to sing to activate that weapon . Any dogfight with Itano circus in this series?

After finishing Eureka 7 I got addicted to Itano circus themed combat.

I like the design of the new grunt units, especially the Tieren. Any word whether there will be any colony or colony drop in 00?

w00ts. Gurren Lagann mass production version! Nice to see the 2 kids grown up and became pilots. The soundtrack now has a guitar accompaniment in the background were the earlier OP had none.

I missed the opening theme, epi 17 is nice. But, what the hell with the plot twist?

Y'eah, cyclone no.4, it already passed Tokyo bay by the time the quake hit. Talking about repetitive disaster .

Smaller quakes often hit Tokyo, but still people here always gives pamphlet of emergency evacuation in case the big one comes.

What worries me more is that me and my family lives in an old apartment, when a typhoon or a large quakes hit, it can go down any moment .

The shake is quite strong here in Tokyo, it happens yesterday (17-07-2007 around 10 am JST) at 4 magnitude, it shakes again in night around 11 pm. Me and my family are ok here.

What I'm fearing that this may be a prelude to the Tokyo dai-jishin (aka Tokyo great quake).

I can't wait.

Its a fleet battleship from Ginga Sengoku Gun Yuuden Rai aka Rai Thunderjet. I've been working its 3D model for the past few month .

I know the Valhalla III was the main support ship for the fighters on the VFX-1 game; but on the second game there are a big variance of capital and support ships...

Anyone knows which one was the main space ship for the game? my guess is the carrier CV Enbaterion, Kefarvik or some other carrier of that type...

Its a variant of the Uraga class escort battle carrier. The compendium didn't list this ship but I believed it is listed in Kazutaka Miyatake design work, I'll check it when I got home.

Anon picked the right time for their videos to be playable with just the CCCP pack.

Probably the best anime episode I ever seen in my life. The battle is awesome, especially when those giant battleship ganmen fight each other. It almost like the final episode of GL .

Looks like the releases dried up this week. Still see one group releasing sub files, and there is a raw out there, but nothing like what we saw in weeks past.

I saw a fake-nyoro~n fansub in Tokyotosho a while ago. I got the BSS one, its quite good. I cracked up when the word "noob" came out on the sub

Kiyal ganmen is quite funny, especially when it combine with Kittan .

I think Morpheus means, "Will this new addition to the Gurren Lagann remain a separate mech that a human pilot will fly around, or will it just appear during the transformation from now on like the helm?"

Just like Radd said. I hope Yoko will be the pilot for the flying ganmen . .

I wonder if the backpack flying ganmen can be piloted.....
