Maybe we'll see Mobile suits or Destroids in our lifetimes after all. If we're lucky a variable.
I dunno.....gonna make defending yourself that much harder if they do.....

Hmm...
early Christmas gift (in about 7 days or so):
Super Dimensional Cavalry: Southern Cross on DVD...

maybe by Christmas I'll get the Genesis Climber Mospeada set on DVD....
-
Good movie. Been a while since Ive seen it....might take a gander at the DVD one of these days.

What is is with this board? Everyone mil or ex-mil seems to have lugged an LMG!
Im only a reenactor...no real military experience (Ive never seen the Elephant...only heard him faintly rumbling in the distance)

Anyway....
Real Firearms
1.) S&W .40 cal (gotta get one someday)
2.) Remington 1863 Army .44 Single Action Revolver (nothing like a heavy pistol...if it doesn't fire...you can always hit someone with it....
)3.) Any of the Lee-Enfield SMLE's (single most produced weapon in the world IIRC...even beating out the Kalashnikov). I love 'em eventhough they're heavy as hell.
4.) M1 Carbine (backup WWII weapon...nice and LIGHT compared to the Garand)
5.) Volcano Arms Henry Repeating Rifle (seen the devastating effects of dismounted cavalry armed with these puppies at a few reenactments)
6.) Great War 12-gauge Trench Shotgun (got to fire one once....nice weapon...might add it to my WWII impression)
Fantasy Weapons
1.) Rebel Alliance A-280 Heavy Blaster Rifle
2.) Colonial Marine Pulse Rifle
3.) The Lightsaber....all purpose can opener and bad guy killer!
4.) Monocle/Cyclops Battloid Beam Rifle from Southern Cross/Robotech
5.) Nu Gundam Beam Rifle from Char's Counterattack
As for my trusty Enfield .577 rifled-bore musket, I must say, without a doubt, it is an absolutel pain in the ASS to clean.

What's your handle @ Rt.com Red Border?
Since you asked: Brooklyn Red Leg
91WhiskeyM6.....I come to these boards cause Ive made friends here....friends that prefer Macross over Robotech or Southern Cross (yes...its true
). I won't even go into those weirdos like Cyc that prefer Mospeada over Southern Cross........

And thats great.... really... I bet everyone was wishing for a new one
Well...it was bound to happen sooner or later.

I wanted to see what the big deal was with RB 3000 and now I know.
Just to restate the obvious (Im not trying to be an ass) both Robotech 3k and Robotech II: The Sentinels are as dead as door nails. While the initial concept of Robotech 3k isnt bad per se...it was a doomed project from its inception. It was also the last Robotech project (thankfully) that Carl Macek will likely ever work on. He is NOT involved with Robotech 2004.
Just to update others about something...it appears that Tommy Yune dropped in chat recently that in fact HG is working with some of the original Mospeada people on Robotech 2004. Now, whether this is Amano, Kakinuma and Aramaki....we don't know. I think it could be that Tommy is actually distinguishing between Tatsunoko and the people from Artmic (at least I hope he is). Now...if only they could find some of the Southern Cross people...then I would be happy.

I'm going home to hide my collection of Klingon weaponry.

Figured I would add a cartoon from Dork Tower's archives....a rather funny one that I can semi-relate to when it comes to gaming. Enjoy!

Heck, you still have idiots who know truth, BUT still support HG????
Wow....what the f#ck else am I and other Southern Cross fans supposed to do but support Harmony Gold? Not all people who "know the truth" are Macross fans.
While I despise Toynami for sitting on the SC license (which they now have worldwide control of), what else can be done?
-
I think that is why they are only making 5000 of this variant.
-
I'll probably shoot myself later for admitting this....but it doesn't look too bad.

-
A low vis veritech, wonder where they got that idea.
Before this thread goes the way of the dodo....
I dont think the VF-1R is supposed to be stealth. At least nothing in the file ever suggested low visibility and it certainly lacks the hard angles that are necessary for low visibility. As much as I hate to say it...this doesnt look too bad.

-
Heh,
I figured some of y'all would get a kick out of this. A riot of a little movie from Dork Tower. Its a nice commentary on being a part of gamer, anime and all around sci-fi geekdom. Enjoy!

I believe that the missile pods might be located in the front of the vehicle beneath what appear to be hatches. If not there, they might be removable.
Ok.....
the hatches on the front do appear to be similar in design to the SRMs found on the Tomahawk. My only thoughts against is that the driver appears to sit in the middle of the front and can look out the 'slats'...which if the pods were to open and fire...he would be blinded. Hmm....I wonder if there is a MLRS add-on for the top of the vehicle.

Why do I have this feeling that Toynami are reading this and taking notes?

At least give us better platic, Toynami!
If only that were true. They had BEST get the damned proportions better than Matchbox!
-
Maybe he was an unpaid consultant for the movie?
No doubt. He's an ass and half. White Wolf based the fictional Father Ramos off of Jack "ASS" Chick. Im sure they've gotten hate mail from him and his organization.
The absurd notion that some of the original D&D writers went to occult people in the Lake Geneva area to "get the rituals right" is out and out horse $hiznit.
Funny enough....every year at the end of NecronmiCon here in Tampa, the local religious nuts come out and say prayers for our doomed souls. I subscribe to the Robert E. Lee school of religion...its all personal and you keep it to yourself. Spreading the word my butt.

Hey..
wanted to ask a question. I was looking at the Nanashi page (nice, I must admit. It aint SC...but hey, not everyone can be perfect
). Anyway, according to the blurb on the weapons outload for the 6-wheeled Armored Car, it says it mounts a machinegun (12.7mm I would guess) and then says it has missiles. I must be missing something...where are the missiles?

And that idiot Jack Chick rears his beady little head again...I know that some people just laugh at his tracts -- I get physically sick trying to read his bigoted (my family's Catholic -- he has Catholics on his long list of people going to Hell), manipulative and intolerant ravings.
Heh...
Chick is a tool. He was friends with the fella that wrote the book for Mazes and Monsters.
I used to play D&D (and am looking to get into a group again), but never sold my soul to the Devil.I would say that is most people who play.

I would love to find out what old Chick thinks about Demon: the Fallen where you play a Fallen Angel released from the Abyss after millenia of imprisonment only to find the world is a cesspool and God doesn't care. Im sure he would stroke out reading about how you could play a Ravener that decides its better to Unmake Reality.
BTW, for any of you that have read Demon, the first novel in the Trilogy Ashes and Angel's Wings is freakin AWESOME! Greg Stolze is a genius. I can hardly wait for Days of Fire, the trade paperback with Lucifer's Tale and Warnings (ala The Book of Nod and Revelations of the Dark Mother). Stolze supposedly put a code into Days of Fire that can be cracked. Also, there are supposed to be references to every game in The World of Darkness including the newest: Orpheus.

Nice one Sam...
if ya get another...you can paint it blue-black and grey and make a Sue Graham variant...she just needs a video camera

Hey,
someone at the World of Greyhawk boards posted two reviews of this "classic" POS movie from the '80s where Tom Hanks goes nutso and thinks he's living in D&D.
Since there are gamers here other than me, I figured I would post the links to the reviews plus some other related websites that should give most of you a chuckle.

Here is a nifty little piece of sh*t called Dark Dungeons that obviously used Mazes and Monsters as its basis. Read for a laugh...
Oh....Dark Dungeons....Ive lost my soul to the Devil cause I played D&D ::SOB::
Now...for someone that actually watched the movie and reviewed it that I can understand....
Review #2: What a stinker this thing was.....
Another review...this time by a game industry writer...Bill Coffin of Palladium Books.
Now...for an even better laugh....here is White Wolf's answer to Dark Dungeons....passed out at GenCon '02 (God...I would have loved to have been there to read this.....these guys know gamer humour).

Demonic Deviltry....about Demon: the Fallen. WARNING...requires Adobe Acrobat 5
And finally...
the only website devoted to Mazes and Monsters (at least according to the website owner). I love this stuff....
Edit: Added review from RPG.net

Makes you just want to beat the hackers to death with your shoe, doesn't it?
Yes it does.

The fragger that did this hosed not only the Half-Life 2 game company...but any company (like, say, White Wolf) that had games coming out based on the Half-Life 2 engine. I hope they find this punk and shoot his sorry ass while he's on the toilet....an ignominious end to a waste of flesh. Either that or he needs to spend 10+ yrs playing 'Prison Bitch' in a "Pound You in the Ass!" penitentiary.
The amount of money that will be lost to this is going to be immense I bet.

The only reason this thread has gone off topic is because some people have chosen to let it do so.
Exactly. Since we're on the subject of interest the polls just closed about forty minutes ago.
It's looks like the Governator is coming to Sacramento.......and I did my job. B)
Im gonna get my .02 credits before this closes...

All I can say to Californians is that from the bottom of my heart...from all Floridians....THANK YOU! WE"RE NO LONGER THE GOAT!

Heh...
pretty good. The SC one was funny..the others were kinda painful to watch...cause they're Macross
.I think I'll repost these over at the RDF HQ....most of the people there would probably get a kick out of them.

Heh...
its actually Nipple Pick...its what is used to clean all the shmutz and other crap from just inside the nipple where the percussion cap is fitted. Alot of black powder residue builds up in the pan beneath the nipple.
We also have a Nipple Wrench (really..we do...).
