  1. Not really the same thing, but I'm going to NecronomiCon in Tampa that weekend (well, when everyone basically will celebrate Halloween instead of on the 31st).
  2. Finally got my restored set... Those are at least a little cleaner. Its clearly a capital vessel of some sort. Rather large too, I guess at least the size of the Picket, if not bigger.
  3. It appears again, apparently in DYRL, but I don't think its the Golg Gants. If I had to guess, maybe at least 100m in length/width, if not more. Here is a grainy pic of it from DYRL, but of course it doesn't shed anymore light onto how big it is.
  4. Ok, I've already noted there are several ship types that do not conform to the standard Zentraedi type ship, including a few that showed up in Do You Remember, Love? as Meltrandi ships (and are even seen in SDF Macross in Meltrandi purple hull colouration). What I want to know is what in the frell is this ship and what its classification is, if any?
  5. Ok....I made two more. I know, its a disease and I should seek immediate psychological attention. Edit: Ooops, link went bad. Corrected and added one more (apologies to the mods). Enjoy!
  6. I don't remember that being in the Robotech RPG, since they only mention Dana (for one thing) and the fact its out of step with Robotech anyway as Max and Miriya have 3 kids: 2 daughters and a son. Are you sure you don't mean the Macross II RPG?
  7. Hehe, ask and ye shall recieve. Sadly, my copy of the Restored Macross Saga isn't here yet, so you'll have to wait for some inspirational Macross-based posters from me.
  8. Ah...I was on a roll (so to speak ) this morning. Made one more.... Edit: This went through a redo to make it a little more easily read.
  9. To celebrate the new Robotech RPG, I figured I would create a few Palladium RPG system themed 'inspirational' posters. For your enjoyment... Edit: I added 2 Mospeada-based posters just so fans wouldn't feel left out.
  10. I can't be for certain, but I think what he meant by 'new mecha' should really read 'old mecha we forgot and some preproduction stuff we can use from Southern Cross and Mospeada'. So, you'd get the VF-X-4/YF-4, VF-1R, VEFR-1, Meltrandi vessels that all appeared in Force of Arms, the various Southern Cross Battloids, preproduction AAA Spartas, VA-5 Condor, EAF-03 Bat/SFA-5 Bat etc. In otherwords, alot of stuff that went missing. Just from the screen caps I've done of Southern Cross and Mospeada alone, there is literally a mountain of missing equipment. Would there be wholey new designs? Probably, but again I'm betting most of them will be models that Palladium has had for years that were published under the old Robotech RPG like the Mini-Monster, VA-8 'Attack Logan' (Super Logan) etc.
  11. By the by, why do your ships use the UES prefix? United Earth Ship? Shouldn't they be UNS instead?
  12. I know that Southern Cross would be considered to be a failure by many. I've also seen a japanese webpage (I'll try to locate a link) that said, its lack of sucess aside, many of the girls animes of later, like Sailor Moon, probably owe a bit to Southern Cross for having its relatively strong female leads. Perhaps it took being welded into Robotech (which owes much more of its storyline background to Southern Cross than either Macross or Mospeada) to give it some kind of success. Its interesting that as time has worn on, more and more Robotech fans find they like the middle-chapter more now that they are older. I will also add this in closing. A month ago at GenCon Indy, I asked Matt Greenfield, point blank, if Southern Cross was some kind of money making disaster (as I've heard people claim, not just here but at Robotech.com as well) for ADV Films. Unless he was lying to me or blowing sunshine up my ass, he stated that Southern Cross has done fine with ADV Films. A smash, no, but certainly not the complete disaster I hear people claim.
  13. ::does a little thread Necromancy:: Well, have found quite a few things in the last year, including some that I now own... From left to right: A Japanese Southern Cross comic, fan made I'm assuming (lost the bid on this one on Yahoo Japan) Southern Cross arming doublet erasers: ATAC, TASC and GMP (dont own) 1st of 2 transparencies (currently sitting on my book shelf) 2nd of 2 transparencies (someone else won it) 1 of 3 posters I've seen <I may be mistaken, but I think this came with one of the albums> (dont own yet) Alternate Pencil Case (I own this one) A casette soundtrack (someone gave me the complete SC soundtrack already, so no need) Finally, 2nd of 3 posters <was an insert in an anime mag I believe> (I own this one) I wonder what else will pop up in the coming year....
  14. Suzuoki was also the Zor Lord Des in Southern Cross.
  15. Heh, not to quibble (cause y'all are probably right), the Monitor Khyron/Kamjin commands in eps. #36 is coloured brown whereas the ship Azonia/Laplamis launches off of in eps. #35 is coloured that Zentraedi green. What did they do, make their men get out and sling paint on the hull?
  16. Ok, I'm trying to figure out what vessel is being used by Azonia/Laplamiz's Queadlunn-Rau in eps. #35 (Season's Greetings in Robotech). It appears to be about the size of a Tou Redir Scout, but doesn't conform to the silhouette of a Tou Redir (from what I can tell). Does anyone have a screen capture of this vessel from the Restored Macross? Is this another one of the DYRL? vessels that appear in SDF Macross, or is it something altogether different?
  17. Hmm, didn't realise he was involved with Southern Cross. Interesting...
  18. But you still come up with more than 11 missiles in the first image, on the left hand pod, which has 12 plus 2.
  19. ::pokes his head into the thread:: Ok, I was wondering why the official notes (from Egan Loo's Macross Compendium) for the Phalanx say 2x22 missiles when (to the best of my knowledge) every screen shot shows that the Phalanx should load 2x28 missiles (in the Tv series, I have no clue about DYRL). I ask this because of the ongoing 'discussion' over mecha capabilities, performance and weapons loadouts over at Palladium concerning the future of the Robotech RPG license (yes, boo and hiss at me later, this will benefit you Macross fans in the end). To illustrate that point, here are 2 screen caps from the Tv series.... Phalanx screen capture from eps. #27 Phalanx screen capture from eps. #31 (I think) Now, I know both Robotech.com and Palladium goofed as far as the missile types, being short range (I guess the same type carried by the other Destroids, no clue) and not long-range. That will likely change and they will be brought more into line with the OSM notes, though the loadout will probably be 2x28 instead of 2x22.
  20. With anyone else but Tommy Yune at the helm, most likely. When the Regess in Robotech talks about 'the shadow' she specifically states its the shadow of the Robotech Masters that mankind has become tainted by: literally that they will go to extreme ends to win a war. Now, supposedly, it refers to some 'shadow dimension' and some kind of weird aliens.
  21. My God....serious thread necromancy... Gotta go with Ultraviolet
  22. Ok, I'm going to GenCon Indy in August and wondered if any fellow MacrossWorlder was going to go? If so, anyone wanna share a room I booked for about $50 a night?
  23. Hehe, kind of like how the AB-01 TREAD's manual has the word 'Conpyright'?
  24. No, Angelo Dante's deadpan 'Yes, ma'am. But dying under the command of a ditzy teenager isn't the way I hoped to go out' is one of the more memorable lines. Then there is Alan Fredrick's, also deadpan, observation of Dana 'Its obvious I'm dealing with a moron'. Maybe sarcasm isn't your cuppa. Eps. #17 BioPsychers Bowie: This mission to occupy the Zor ship may be my last. I have a feeling something is going to happen to me. There is a big change waiting to happen.....It might be death.... Jeanne: Bowie! Bowie: I've loved you, Commander. .......Jeanne looks flabbergasted......... Bowie: Please pardon me, I'll never say it again. But I will protect you, Commander! ........Jeanne comes over and hugs Bowie......... Jeanne: Bowie...... That whole scene is completely out of left field. I don't recall anything that really lead to this particular moment in the Tv series. Thankfully, it was abandoned for The Masters War, and I believe the whole scene plays out better.
