Hmmm harry is all grown up right now... wonder in which sequel he's gonna be layed

That's something my wife and I were joking about if Rowling ever decided to continue the series after book 7: Harry Potter, The College Years. See Harry in his first frat party!!! Chug! Chug! Chug!

The original Trilogy yes... he originally submitted it was one big movie, but it was too long so he broke up and expanded on the first act. And judging by the fact that the Episode IV was added in pretty soon after the original release, it's rather obvious that he planned on 6 parts by the time he got to Empire. But obviously he didn't put too much thought into the first three at that time (yeah they'll be about Luke's dad turning evil. yeah!) but I doubt there was much more then that... with the contraditions retcons and barely patched together explanations... but the original trilogy... of course he planned that.
The episode 4 was only added on screen in a re-release from 1981, after it was decided that Empire was going to be Episode 5. While Lucas may have planned to have 3, 6, 9, or 12 films all along, the stories themselves were always being made up as he went along. It's the same with any series. You do one storyline movie at a time. If you don't believe me, check out some of the reviews for the very first Empire Strikes Back screenplay from Leigh Bracket: virtually nothing is the same as what we saw on screen.
This new Transformers franchise is no different. They're making it up as they go along. There is no grand plan or cosmic design.

I haven't seen the film yet, but I had thought the book itself was only so-so. It's no surprise to me that you're saying the film is also not as good as the others.

There's a very good quality DL of Paprika available onboxtorrents
I know, but I'd rather watch it on my bigger TV than on the smaller computer monitor.
-
Just saw Paprika tonight. I enjoyed it immensely, probably my favourite film so far this year. I'd highly recommend it to any fans of Paranoia Agent or Millennium Actress.
Lucky you. I'll have to wait for the DVD, it won't be playing in any theatre near me.

Interesting car, uh... or jet.

Listened to it the other day. Good job. It made me feel like watching the show, unfortunately I have to way of acquiring it.

Looking forward to your other shows. Make sure to announce it.

New series coming soon according to ANN. Dances for joy.

Just noticed a really minor glitch and probably not worth fixing. I also don't know if I can explain it well.
Before the upgrade, when I looked at a thread, my cookies would remember what the last post I read was. If I clicked at last post of the right hand side of the thread topic, I would be taken to the first unread post from that topic, essentially continuing where I left off. Now, when I click on last post, I'm automatically taken to the very last post in the thread even though there may be other replies above since I last read the thread.

My God, I can't believe some are now approving of this incident. This thread really makes me go WTF!!!
I think it's time to lock it up and get on to discussing some more interesting things.

Hadn't planned on seeing it, but hearing you guys talk about it is making lean the other way.
A review I can't believe was so positive, and he got some of the technical terms wrong:
-
How about "Wings of Honneamise", during the
attempted rape scene
?
You know, I hadn't really noticed that one. Probably because of the nature of the nude scene itself didn't make me feel like looking at private parts.
-
That's what I thought. You don't see too many series that have significant events in the middle of a story that are not shown, just the consequences.
-
Phew! I wonder if that review will be echoed by others? It certainly was devastating (no pun intended).
-
I finished it last night. You guys were right. It did become much better towards the end.
The granddaddy of jiggly anime?

One question with spoilers:
In ep 5, when they were looking at Australia and saying it will take a long while to recover, did they mean recovering from the creation of the black hole's shockwave from the end of ep 4?
-
There's more of this stuff?

Is there a thread with all this animated funnies?
At least I'd like a pic with the beer can missles.

Btw, isn't Kawamori crushed in the first ep? Along with the Studio Nue building?
The Studio Nue, Artland & another building all get demolished by Hikaru at the end of Ep 1. If you slow motion advance the destruction of the Studio Nue building, you actually see the SN mascot reacting to the building's destruction.
I've never heard of Kawamori getting crushed. When does this take place?

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
You got it Akilae. Your turn.

C'mon, it's not difficult to be better than Die hard 2. That movie was a huge turkey IMO.
Graham
What do you mean? There was nothing wrong with DH2. I mean, planes with empty fuel tanks exploding in huge fireballs, passenger jets that don't have enough fuel for alternate airports so they have to keep circling the airport (a clear violation of air traffic laws), John McClain able to lift a grate supposedly strong enough to hold an aircraft. Nah, no problems there.

In episode 6 of Full Metal Panic, Sousuke, Kaname & Kurz are surrounded by enemy soldiers in what looks like a no win situation. Kaname then says that this reminds her of a Hollywood film whose name she can't remember. Kurz says the same thing. What movie are they thinking of?

I've finally, finally started watching Gunbuster (aka Aim for the Top!). It's not bad so far (I've only seen 2 eps). The immediate thing that comes to mind is that it's... jiggly?
For a late 80s OVA, it's got great animation and a story, while not too deep, that's enough to keep me in for all 6 eps. -
Kanuka Clancy is named after Tom Clancy.
-
Wow, that teaser sure was a yawning experience.

Not to go to off topic but i have come across this as well. you know i don't like when Kid's WB does marvel comics shows, just stick to the DC stuff. Here it is the Spectacular Spider-man
http://www.superherohype.com/news/spider-mannews.php?id=5894
If you can cash in on someone else's property, wouldn't you do it also?
Also, I've noticed in the past year both Marvel & DC having ads in their comics featuring characters from the other company in there. These were usually movie or DVD ads.

Who knows? It could be the Supervision Army ship we saw in Ep 30 just cruising by Earth.
