IMO I found Arya's season 5-6 faceless man story arc more pointless and overly long what I feel like the should have done was pull a Bran,Hodor,Yara,Blackfish and had Arya sit out a season instead of giving us two seasons of the same stick whacking "who are you". We could have used that time for more flashbacks or setting up our last minute villain Euron Greyjoy earlier.

have a pair of Monsters and Glaugs but not enough CFs and Regults. on the latter, i was holding back beefing up the squadron for when they release missile versions and <fingers crossed> scouts.

or any futuristic buildings/architecture. 

i think Macross City architecture is not distinct enough that it can't be replicated with a mix of generic sci-fi buildings. but if they indeed do it, i'll be all over them for sure.

what I really want them to do though, is Olympus city from Appleseed, particularly the arcology buildings. 

hmmm.. now that i think about it, i have a few of those spider gun platforms. hmmm...

these are great. a few members have mentioned them previously and I have been hoarding these for a couple of years now. 

they are also in scale with a number of 1/2500 Trek ships, as well as close enough to 1/2256 Star Wars ships. 

when I get around to it, i plan to have the SDF-1 in storm attack mode and a Star Destroyer bearing down on it instead of a space cucumber

couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine spotted a Tsume Zoro statue in a Bangkok shop going for around $300. i had asked him previously to keep an eye out for it.

he sent me this side by side pic to confirm it was what i was looking for:

as ebay listings are now well north of $1k and i was rushing to catch a plane, i immediately messaged him to get it for me. 

later after i landed, i realized it was not exactly the same. Zoro looked oddly proportioned. a bit of googling confirmed that it was actually this "Tsume Mini Zoro" :

a bit disappointed, but since i was mainly after the tornado i went for it anyway. i thought i would just replace the Zoro figure with a normally proportioned one.

when he later sent me pics of the box, yet another surprise: it looked smaller than expected.

a bit more googling told me the original at 1/7 scale was 50cm (to top of tornado) while this is 35cm. oh well, so much for my plan to put this on a pedestal as a standalone display.

still, 35cm is pretty sizeable, so i'll make the most of this and hunt for a replacement Zoro figure. thing is, i'm not too familiar with POP. can anyone here recommend a similarly posed Zoro figure? maybe 1/10 or 1/12 scale? appreciate any tips/leads.

below is the shop front. hope to see it next month when i drop by Bangkok. apparently it's downtown and 2 buildings of toy shops. i don't know how i've completely missed this in all my previous trips, so i'm pretty excited

fingers crossed it gets produced, because the garage kits are priced such that one wouldn't even consider a pair, let alone army build.

same with me. and it's been like that for me since i joined well over a decade ago. 

that front page contributors frequently have to advertise on the threads to remind people to check the front page, suggests that for most of the membership it's the same way: dive straight into the forums.

so not sure what is meant by "is that all this place is now?". perhaps to most of the community, it's always been this way.

it's not just a message board either. there are tons of updates, contributions, discussions, debates (at times too much ), and content, regarding macross and whatnot. daily.

just not on the front page.

yeah. i'm tempted to add the orange one because of the pose. like she's presenting the next showcase on a gameshow.

might be useful for cabinets with big display pieces.

The whole cop thing and fishnets. But I got an odd feeling about her design. Those heart symbols. What kind of police officer is she? And that gun. At first I thought it was an old style Nerf gun that would shoot those foam pieces. But then I started to do more research. This is a bad girl. 

lol! you're right. that is NOT a gun. haven't taken her out of the box yet, so i wouldn't have known.

i do have 5 already from when the POs came out, but wanted a few more for customs.

i really thought they were going to release 2-mode sets down the line so held off buying more then.

doesn't seem to be size either. i use PW so my shipments tend to be very big boxes, and would contain high value items. doesn't seem to be country based either as i've had packages shipped to 3 different countries, all on SAL.

my big and high value single purchases have also shipped via SAL, though they did enter PW first and i later decided to ship them on their own, usually because grouping the smaller items into one box results into lower SAL fees than if i group them with already big items. 

that these high value and/or big items first enter PW, might be the workaround i inadvertently stumbled on.

granted, at some point SAL can be 20% more expensive than the EMS option, but i avoid EMS like the plague. particularly where i am now, EMS super sucks. i would happily pay the SAL premium rather than wasting 2-3 hours roundtrip driving to the EMS pickup/clearing house, and another 2-3 hours waiting in line for them to retrieve/process it.

what surprises me about 1/4 figures, is that they are often even cheaper than some GSC or Alter releases in 1/7. the blue bunny girl for example, can be had for less than $100.

while i'm aware of this policy, for some reason it was never applied to me. all my HLJ shipments were SAL for the past decade.

scoured Akiba and Nakano a couple of weeks ago. not a single 31A to be found.

Konosuba's animation quality took a dive this second season, but remained funny as heck.

enjoying Fuuka, despite the (valid) negative reviews. for a music themed anime, the music is pretty sparse. they just keep recycling the OP. but it's a song i really like.

liked first few episodes of 3gatsu. saving it for a marathon.

Akiba's Trip is good for mindless fun. Masamune was also that, until things got more serious (and admittedly, interesting) on ep8.

Kobayashi and Youjo Senki are my favorite new shows this season.

and finally watched the 2nd Arpeggio movie. that was great!

love the face. wish she had more clothes on though (as duh as that might sound).
