I'll check and see what the shoulder hinge is made of--I've built enough models that I can identify just about any plastic type by appearance/feel.
Now THAT is a skill to have

you could get on Americas Got Talent or whatever the hell that show is with Hasslehoff.
-
Well I guess I won't use it this time. I need to get a different version of Photshop than I have now. Anyways...here's some more pics. I strapped my launch arm to the side of my display case.
I did tighten the arms but they are still to loose. I had to use more elastics. One day I will get a better set up. Then my pics will be INSANE!

noise ninja....you can get it at http://www.picturecode.com/
theres also a plugin for photoshop
yah its also cheap
BAD A$$!!! I'm downloading it now and will post my latest pics with it. It was made just for me....I mean...I am a Ninja.

-
ive removed most of the image noise for you

THANKS! That's cool....what image software and version are you using and is it expensive?

-
nice! have you tried tightening the the arm clamps?
THANKS! No I have not tried that yet. I was unaware that was possible. I will try it here shortly. Until then...here are some more pics.

That last one is my favorite....it looks like he's playing a piano or a zombie sitting down

Looks like I'm still getting my VF-1A Hikaru type, thankfully, but I'm still not running into any issues with my VF-1S...then again he's staying cool and in the shade in Battroid mode for sometime now.
I've said it before and I'll say it again...I hope Yamato deals with this issue quickly if they have not already. But this will not detour me from purchasing this entire line. They are wayyyyyy to sweet.

-
I grabbed this idea from Swoosh when he posted them of his new 1A. I had to use elastics (that's Canadian for rubber bands....personally I LIKE it)...anyways...I had to use elastics in order to keep the arms together at the right position so I could get a nice sideways launch arm position like it looks (kinda) on the DYRL.

-
Not sure if you can see clearly fm the photos. I too use Tamiya Acrylic spray Navy blue on all my 1/48 packs for that more accurate DYRL look. No primer is used for my case though.
The same is also applied on the new 1/60 VF-1S. I just don't like the greenish hue that Yamato uses for the packs, unless its for TV version.
Wow......nice paint job.....I need some skills like that.

-
Maybe on future releases Yamato could engineer little additional parts to add on to lock the shoulder hinge area in place in battroid, kind of like they included side covers with the 1/48 GBP.
And there it is...........SIDECOVERS!!!

Animated Blitzwing has tabs on his back I fear will break. They have little "hooks" and they have a deathgrip on the backpack. I've sanded them a tad, but any more and they won't hold any more I think, but still lock way too tight IMHO.
PS---GERWALK mode is his best mode. You can actually do the back half of the jet better that way---you can make it look like his box art. (The box art is incorrectly, yet aesthetically-better transformed---but you can't lock it together at all that way--but you sorta can in GERWALK)
Heh......you need not worry bout those tabs. I've TFed mine quite a bit with much success.
BW does have a cool GERWALK mode. Also this crazy mode...

Thanks David, that's clearer now.
Will look into this.
Graham
Yes....it tis a bit of an annoyance. Nothing that can't be worked past. And thus far....the only "major" problem.

The weathered VF-1J looks great, but maybe a little over weathered

I was thinking the same thing! It looks like it just crawled out of a swamp.
-
That's the same spot mine broke off too
The left one is just fine.

I just had my birthday and my wife let me go buy models for it.
My wife must love me...lol
I can't for sure say which model to start on. They are all excellent choices. Just make sure you post your progress/completed work in the model section for us to drool over
. HAPPY BIRTHDAY by the way!

Good lookin collection you have goin on there mate! I will be posting soon enough. Just need to wait for more of my stuff to get here.

I was thinking about a evil jetfire. Dark gray with a dark purple. I not sure yet. I am just trying to get in touch with somebody. I am having Kurt do a 1/48 VF-1D custom for me. I know that this is way out of my league. I have an extra jet fire that I will try to start on if no one does 1/55's.
There have been quite a few customizations in the past here on the MW. I am sure if you dig around you could find all you need. If I had more time I would post them for you. Sorry that I do not. Good luck to you. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

A 1/55 STRIKE HIKARU to go with my 1/48 and soon-to-be-released 1/60 V.2.......man, I would be in VALKYRIE heaven
!A remake of this figure would be GREAT! I have pieced together my own over the years. It's almost complete.

-
I order a lot from Lost and Found and I'm sure the shameless plug is appreciated Misterryno, but Carlos has not listed the 1/60 Bandai's for pre-order
Which is why I had to pre-order it with Big Bad. Otherwise, LAF would have been my first choice.
Shameless plugs are the ONLY way to go

do you REALLY need another VF-1?
no....it's just my favorite. I guess I misunderstood the purpose of this poll until recently. If it is going the way I think then I guess I would change my vote to a VF-4 as well. It's aight....but not uber cool.

-
ok, thanks guys, wish me luck
GOOD LUCK!!!

-
F*ck this transformation thing.

Renato, its simple really... Reason #1 to be pissed at limited version vs custom made by a fan: There are alot of completest, that want all the 1/48th, and they got screwed with these limited to japan with coupon shenanigans, which thus they may never be able to get: yes, its a slap in the face when you cant have it just cause you dont live in japan. Other reasons, basically same, even if you are not completist, you want these new schemes, well guess what, if you are not living in japan, tough luck... slap in the face!!!!
I do agree with being pissed if it were an exclusive (thankfully it is not) but as another member on here from Japan told me once...
"it's not too difficult to get items from Japan now days"
maybe those were not the EXACT words....but damn close.
