  1. Does anyone practice this? How do you train for it?

There are certain places you can go to be trained. It is an intense training course that usually lasts like a week(I think). I am not sure how you find it. I know that my old roomie who is now or already has become an instructor for it knew some people and that's how he found out. He is also an retired marine and everyone except for like 2 people in the class he took were retired military. One of the 2 that were not retired military was a professional kickboxer.

  2. Technically Krav Maga is not a Martial Art but a Fighting Art.

It doesn't teach you humility, spirit or friendship.

It only teaches you how to fight.

And how to kill within seconds.

EDIT----> That's Kapap that I am speaking of.

  3. Thanks for the idea. THat is an interesting idea but I have a feeling that paint chipping is going to be an unending event. Now that I have gone online and resaerched a bit, confirming that both Fusion paint (when dry) and Future are non-toxic, now I feel safe letting him play with it.

Well brother. I hope it works out for ya. I wish I still did have that 1/55 Miriya for sale for you.

  4. Ya think so? I mean I put so much time and work into this and I know that he really wants it so I want to give it to him but I also do not want to give him cancer.

I just picked this thing up and there are little bits of paint chips sort of appearing constantly (probably from the insides too) and I dont want that poo getting blown into his eyes, nose, or mouth or having the bits that come off of it and on to the ground be picked up when he is rolling all over the floor like kids do too. You think I am being overly protective?

Well.....if it is still chipping like mad....then I would not give it to him either. But will he understand why you are not giving it to him is the question? I sure hope he does. Just tell him that you need to fix it and it could take some time. He seems to be a very bright boy and I think he will be cool with that.

  5. Well now I am thinking that I probably cant/shouldnt give this to my son afterall.

It should have been obvious that the paint would be toxic and maybe the future too but I just read the paint can which states that the product contains chemicals known to the state of california to cause cancer. And with this thing chipping like crazy I dont want to expose him to this. I could not find anything on the future bottle about toxicity so I am not sure about that too.

So now what do I do? He knows that I am doing this project for him. He has seen the progress. He has not seen it finished yet and I think that I should show it to him. But he will be very sad if I tell him that he can not have it because it is too toxic.

I dont have the time(=money) to srip the paint off of this now to give back to him.

    Any ideas?

no man....you can give it to him....just tell him "whatever you do......DO NOT put this anywhere near your face"

  6. Yeah, the kind I used was Krylon Fusion for Plastics which states that it chemically bonds to the plastic preventing chipping. Also I cleaned all the pieces with soap and water and let them dry before applying the multiple coats. Finally I dipped each piece in Future and let dry. and did that future dipping a second time as well.

Next time it is automotive enamel for sure!

I just don't get it. I used the same kind of paint as you for my customs too and I had the same problem. Krylon are LIARS!

  7. OK kids,

Here we go. These are the finished pics. You can see that most of the chipping occured while putting the arms together. The rest looks good. Overall it looks pretty cool and actually the bad pics do not do much justice. The interesting thing will be the "After" pics when I post pics in a month of how much chipping occurs after my son plays with it for a while.

Oh, another thing is that Minmei keeps moving around inside the cockpit. You can see her off to the side in these pics but she does sit straight sometimes too. I may have to glue her in place.

WOW!!! That is one crraaazzzzzyyy lookin valk. I like it! ^_^

Really sucks to have all those chips though.....sorry brother that happened to you :( .

  8. DAMN this looks soooo great! I am trying really hard not to buy this. I want it so bad but I just can not afford it right now.

My credit card is saying, "use me! Abuse me! Get the valk. Get all the Valks!"

I am trying to argue with it but I may be the weaker of the two.

Listen to your Credit Card!!! BWWWWAAAAHHHHAHAHAHAHA!!!:lol::lol:

  9. I had better get on these before I get too far behind! That 1S switch-a-roo was pretty tight! Was that a difficult mod to pull off?

    OO

Yeah brother man....they are coming out faster than we predicted. The head swap is SUPER easy....the head pops right off...or I should say slides right off. ^_^

  10. It's huge.........

seriously, gotta be very careful when you transform it from Battroid to fighter, the hip just seem tight. Gotta release the chest plate, with some force to push the hip bar upwards to release it out.

 That's what she said :p

Yeah...the hip is tricky...that's the reason I made that vid for everyone in the "noob transforming of the v.2 1/60" topic.

  11. I don't have hinges problem with the 1S, so I can't tell.

Few things I notice from my 1A:

    1. All shoulder and elbow are not at tight as the 1S, I do not mean joins loose anyhow, it has right amount of fiction which make you less worry about the shoulder hinge, also making posing a bit easier.
    2. Canopy coating is slighty different, this time it is more on the purple side, coating on my 1S looks more like Oakley's emerald and has more reflection.
    3. No crooked skull, the 1S I got has crooked 1 or 2 degree one of the tail fin, actually I didn't notice it until member point it out.

    ^_^

WOOT WOOT!!! This is ALL GOOD information! THANKS! MORE PICS!!! I know you have already taken them :D .

  12. I've seen a couple people comment that Activator Starscream is better than the Voyager. I don't have the Voyager, but I do have the Activator and it's an excellent representation of the toon character. Bot mode is especially excellent because of all the range of motion allowed by the ball joints. Jet mode is a little weak because the hands are visible, but you can kind of forgive it because of the scale.

(only pic I have of him)

Tis definetly a cool little guy. I was waiting to get the Activators cause I've heard that they would prob. be released w/a leader version figure eventually. I may still wait...but then again...I have 4 more leader figures to pick up eventually. I may not be able to wait. I will at least wait to get a good price on them. Not a $7 price.

EDIT------> Totally forgot to mention. I do like the fact that his arm blasters (sure there is a better name) look like the cartoon. I wish the Voyagers did and did not have stupid missiles.
