  1. I really hope theydo something about the gunsounds... they just sound too soft. I want better gunsounds with lots of kick in it!
  2. downloaded it bittorrent... pretty fast connection! This is bumpmapping galore! Although my system runs optimal at 640x480 it's still playable with many loads of detailed objects. Glass blur effects.. However, i'm disapointed with the sound of the firearms... in doom 2 it was really kicking but in doom 3 it's sounds like gunsounds from a cheap speaker in the game itself...:S:S... hope they come with a mod very soon!. I like playing with my searchlight but it kinda gets annoying if you can't hold the flashlight and gun at the same time. But the game is really cool, despite the low detail settings I'm having trouble with antialias.. i can't get it set.
  3. If it doesn't then it will get a low rating for sure.

    Yamato Toys in general

I'm not sure about diecast... if you put diecast and plastic together you will see some visual difference. Either it is full diecast or full plastic. I think only the gunpod and the shoulderjoint should be diecast. As for the prices they offer... I'm not satisfied the way they treat the edges.. I can still see some molds leftovers and some parts are not fitted with precision. But I'm happy with the technical aspect.
  5. Thankfully, HK is a very safe city and we have very few crimes involving firearms. There are probably only a couple of armed bank or jewellery store robberies a year here and a lot of the time the bad guys are carrying imitation (airsoft) firearms, not the real thing. It's not particulaly difficult or expensive for criminals to get fireams if they want them, as stolen PLA (Chinese Army) firearms can be smuggled across the border from mainland China pretty easily and bought cheaply. However, it's pretty rare for Triad gangs to use firearms here. Don't believe everything you see in HK movies Triads are businessmen, with their main businesses being pirating movies and software, prostitution and smuggling. Having mass shootouts in the streets is bad for business. However, back in the early 1990s, we did have quite a few big shootouts in the streets with ex-military criminal gangs using AK-47 rifles coming from mainland China to perform bank robberies in HK. Thankfully that doesn't happen these days. In HK you can walk pretty much anywhere you want at anytime of the day or night wihout fear. Although there have recently been quite a few cases of poor mainland immigrants robbing hikers in country parks. Of course we do have crime just like every other country, but according to the annual police report just released crime is down 7.5% from last year (read story here), except I think for the number of pickpocketing cases and rapes which are slightly higher. Graham The only thing I fear watching those series/movies are those gangs running with stilleto's... they'll chop u up. It's also strange that in HK they sell huge amounts of firearms replica as if they were candies.. It's weird to think that ur an adult at the age of 16 in the US... where in my country you have to be 18
  6. Hey dude that's very nice to hear! A happy ending! I used to watch COPS when I was a kid... bad boys, bad boys, what ur gonna do...
  7. look, I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to offend you.
  8. Would it cost more than a palmtop?
  9. seems very difficult.. oh man u really must use sand paper... and what happend to the paint? dust, thick paint, fingerprints...
  10. I'm currently using 170 grams paper a4. it's a little bit soft but easy to fold. BTW i was thinkin about an idea... i want to inject/fill those objects with some kind of foam.. does it excist? oke there is one thing i came across... the middle body section is too thick compared to the legs
  11. lol nice... it also has some nostalgic features like the mario lcd game..
  12. I'm a bit lazy... but oh well.. I've printed 25 pages and I think this alpha is going to be extremely large I've just finished the cockpit and head... the cockpit is 21cm long roughly estimated... the whole fighter will be 50cm long! Use of medium thick paper is recommended. btw when transforming... don't worry about the side flaps... it will just bend beautifullly with the paper.. to do that, apply glue on the side, about behind the dotted line seen on the surface of the side flaps and glue it on the cockpit.
  13. Download this program to open it. pepakura file: legioss.pdo
  14. FINALLY!! FIghtermode is available... as for now... I still have to assemble it and look for the abilities to transform correctly. I'd glad if u people can build the paper model .. oh 1 thing... the hands are missing... I'll model it later on.
  15. Well... it depends how BIG your printer is.
  16. Yup I will add textures later on, and I think it's gonna be big scaled for easy assembling. Only I have to do a lot of corrections in pepakura designer cause some flaps output are wrong. Since there is alot of teh same color on particular parts... maybe it's better to cut the contour out of colored paper and apply it on the surface. Otherwise you're ink cartridge will be empty soon. As for the decals I think that's a better solution too. The transformation is not a big problem... the main problem is the joint between the arms and shoulder. I made it detractable but I still have to tune the length and whole bunch... and see if it is possable in 3 modes. Oops I overlooked 1 problem... the tailfins.
  17. I got those arms modeled... the most difficult transforming part. Now I still have to model the head and gunpod
