Makes you just want to beat the hackers to death with your shoe, doesn't it?
I'd like to see what sort of drop in hacking would happen if suddenly stuff like that was a death penalty offense enforced by a far-reaching and all-seeing Orwellian entity that would come for them in the night...

I'm not quite up for the shoe-style execution... but I think whomever is responsible should be completely liable for loss of revenue for the company. I just get sick thinking about all of the folks employed there and their kids, bills, etc. This will have a HUGE detrimental impact on all of them.
And I'd love to see some Hacker buttwad have to find out he's liable to the tune of several million dollars.
BTW - Thanks for the informative post, Ladic... that really breaks it down better than I previously understood the issue.

Congrats Arnie (and your biggest fan, AgentONE) !
I'm still disappointed that he hasn't stated his official platform as "Crush your enemies. See them driven before you. Hear the lamentation of the women."

Well... the fact that no Bandai/Taka 1/55's are being released right now has an awful lot to do with their lack of presence on the forums.
Not to mention the fact that we almost exclusively talked about 1/55's for over 10 years... there isn't much left to say that hasn't been said.
All that being said, as much as I love the Yammies, I still miss me the Bandai die-cast goodness of a Chunky Monkey. And I desperately wish they would finish their reissue line, even if they have to charge twice as much and make fewer toys.

I really like The Last Action Hero for some reason, not sure why though.
I think it got a bad rap because of that retarted kid they had in it. But hey, I liked Raw Deal, I think I may be the only one that liked that one. Blaine23 is going to blast me for liking that movie

I won't blast you... simply because Raw Deal might be the most fun to say in Ah-nuld dialect.
"Rahw Deahl!"
But it is a terrible flick...

Arnold is the embodiment of the American dream. He came here 35 years ago with quite literally - Nothing. Massive pecs and a dream is pretty much all he had.
Arnold is from a bygone era when people all around the world believed in America, and still saw it as the land of opportunity. Now, people all around the world (and even in the US) view America with distaste, and love to tear us apart every chance they get.
Arnold is one of the only people I have ever seen speak about the American dream, and made me believe in it all over again. Those of us that were born here forget about all the opportunity we have. The only thing that keeps us from being whatever we want to be is our own laziness, envy, spite, and complacency. Those with the disposition to envy, and complain about what they do not have oppose self made people like Arnold, we call them Democrats.
I would vote for him in a heartbeat if he was able to run for President. Article II, Section 1 should be re-written.
Ahem... "political discussion"?
Seriously, before you go dogging liberals, democrats, or whomever... let's face facts. That bygone era you mention was the late1800's/ early 1900's. That's when the American dream meant something to millions of immigrants... Not 1970. Folks around the world have been viewing America with distaste long before 1970.
Let's not make him a saint, okay? He's a bodybuilder, not Fieval.

Arnold seems like a great guy and I have to agree with Max on this one. I like his movies, some more than others, and he generally kicks ass. But I don't expect him to rebirth the American dream or anything.
Favorite Arnie films - Conan the Barbarian, Predator, Total Recall

I'm curious... does anybody know who designed the Full Armor version we're talking about here? Is it the same as the original EVA designer?
Either way, I kinda dig it - just because I dig armor. I gotta think that the chest fin is a weird touch, though.
-
Seriously... I've waited for this toy to exist since I was 11.
I'll definitely buy the Japanese release... there's simply no telling how the American release might be. I want mine to look just like those pics. Smokestacks.. feh.
-
Wow... I agree with all of you!
It is incredibly contrived. But it rocks nonetheless. Mainly I loved the way that this film affected me in the post-Columbine, post-9/11 environment. In a time when everyone in media was scared to death to be violent or outlandish, this movie was like CPR to me.
Still holds up - campy? Definitely, but not as much as you would think. You totally get the feeling that the characters believe it's real, and that is really the most important thing to pulling off a film like this.
That and you simply have to love any movie that would never, ever, ever make it to movie screens in the U.S. simply based on it's violent premise.

Garth Ennis wrote the best Punisher. B)
It'd be nice if the movie has some of the flavor of that 12 issue (IIRC) run that he wrote a couple yrs back.
-b.
Word to that.
Actually, from what I've read about the script is that it takes most of it's inspiration (and even a few characters) from the Ennis run. That's good news.
Other than that, we'll see how good or bad it is when it gets here. All I know is that I won't guesstimate on how much it'll rock/suck based upon the size of the guy's arms.
[sarcasm] Because we all know that muscle-bound actors usually are soooo very good at acting! [/sarcasm]

M.A.S.H. - not anime (actually a 70's sitcom - for all you kiddies out there), but widely regarded as one of the best series finale's of all time.
Newhart - See above explanation
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Macross
Cowboy Bebop
Escaflowne (TV version, of course)

I had to pick the Virtual Boy, simply because I remember it's crappiness.
Also it has the added benefit of sounding very, very NAMBLA.

-
Barf... bring on Ace and Gary! They're just good friends!

-
Nope... that actually still has a chance of being decent. That one involves Christopher Nolan (Memento) who's a good director.
Now that's a movie that could potentially be good. Christian Bale will make a good Dark Knight, IMHO.
If its half as cheesy as the last couple, its still bad, they'll have to do a little more then directing to save the general opinion of the last few sequils, personally, I'll wait for the video.
Well, that's sorta the idea there. This movie isn't going to be a sequel at all, but a retelling of the origin with a different feel, look, and style than the previous movies.
Actually, I'm of the opinion that all it takes is talent (not just from the director, but the writer, etc) to make people forget about the crappy bad sequels that Schumacher churned out.
A good movie generates a buzz that goes beyond bad movie experiences. You have to remember that you have 60 freaking years of Batman being an iconic comic book character as well to draw upon.
Believe it or not, folks actually said that Tim Burton's Batman would never overcome the craptastic reputation that the campy 1960's TV show... I think we all know how that turned out.
Like I said, that production is moving in the right direction... let's give it a chance and see how it goes. With Nolan and Christian Bale, it's definitely off to a much better start than this Catwoman crap.

The Trendmasters diecast version is badly made and fits together terribly.
I guess I got really lucky then. My Trendmaster re-release (purchased at TRU for $20) holds together perfectly, I have had no issues ever with it.
Same here... bought mine at TRU for $30 when it came out and it's great.
I wouldn't bother with any Voltron that wasn't diecast. The weight of that toy is spectacular. You could easily crush a small child with it.
-
I'll probably upgrade to it eventually, but I'm still feeling burned for shelling out $30 bucks for the current "Collector's Edition" I've already bought.
Seriously, this Ultimate Spectacular Collector's Infinity Platinum Badass Edition DVD madness must come to an end. Would it be too much for the studios to put out a good DVD in the first place?
-
Might as well have a "tastes great" or "less filling" poll.
Both rock. Though I gave the Roy 1S the edge because it's so damn cool it's in both the TV series and DYRL. In fact, it's so cool that it was the obvious base for the DYRL paint schemes.
But both are absolutely worth having.

A funny thought... (I am sure this has been brought up before)
Big West has never approved of a non-canon VF for production, with the exception of the Hikaru VF-1J with FAST pack attached... That never existed in the TV continuity.
Been there. Done that. In a different scale.
Uh... wouldn't the 1/60 version of the Hikaru 1J with FAST packs that Yamato released already count as Big West approved?
If it makes you feel better, Major - I seem to remember some "wow, this isn't canon" posts around the time that was announced.
-
Zeta, what? No hallucinogens?
C'mon...

-
Isn't this that Batman: Year Zero movie?
Nope... that actually still has a chance of being decent. That one involves Christopher Nolan (Memento) who's a good director.
This is the crap-ass Catwoman movie that will probably suck even more than the WB series Birds of Prey. If such a thing is possible.
-
-
Uh... I'm still saving up for FAST packs, the 1/48 Hikaru 1S, the 1/48 Hikaru 1J...
-
Sarcasm? Nah!
That is easily the nicest Maladroid I've ever seen...

-
Looks cool to me, regardless of GBP-style armor's complete impracticality...
Of course it'll never come out in the US... so I'll never it play it, much like the other two games.

Sweet... Absolutely gonna be the best pic out this fall.

Mazes and Monsters....

Seriously... this is one of my all-time favorite bad movies. I have a very good friend who is completely obsessed with it and quotes it incessantly.
It's just so terrible that it works on levels that no one ever imagined.
