  1. Ew... With other guys around?! That's N-A-S-T-Y. Vostok 7 As if it would be any less freakish if he wasn't around all those other guys? Seriously, this pic is beyond disturbing, even if it is older than dirt.
  2. I'm so happy I'm not a low-viz fan (I like canon valks) and I decided to pass... these prices went up super fast... good luck to all those still looking.
  3. A kid plays video games and ends up saving the universe... I said it then and I'll say it now, it's a crappy version of Ender's Game with no depth whatsoever. But I love it as a kid. Thanks for a much needed shot of nostalgia, A7.

    Age Check! :)

Same here... I'll be 30 in February... but I'd rather put that off for another decade. At least I'm not as old as Montarvillois
  5. Why would dub-haters grab pitchforks? They'll never listen to it anyway. It could be Erik Estrada and Bea Arthur as VAs and they wouldn't know! Repeat after me "I do not care how other people choose to watch their anime. I don't have to listen to dubs thanks to the miracle of DVD."
  6. Relax fellas, I called you "whiners" in a good natured way. Of course we'd all like to know more, but my point is that it isn't Graham's decision about when & what we hear from Yamato. He's a big fan who runs a website and knows those who make the toys. That's it. We can all be reasonably assured that we'll see more 1/48 VF-1 valkyries, we just don't know which ones. We can speculate all day, but we'll know when Yamato tells us. That's the way they want it. We just heard that Yamato has plans for VF-0 valks coming. And the YF-19FP is coming. It doesn't do us any good to have threads like this. It justs gets folks worked up and "beggy". Let's take the high road, eh? The Sith will reveal all in due time. Let's just be happy that we live in the best time ever to be a Macross fan.
  7. jeez... do you whiners want to know what you're getting for Christmas before you unwrap the present? Everything Yamato puts out is revealed in good time. Enjoy the anticipation and quit bugging Graham.
  8. Yup... we're already discussing said issue in the other thread for MPC Optimus Prime.
  9. Good lord.. that's a sick puppy. Still, Catcher in the Rye influenced tons of killers... I still think it's a good read.
  10. I'm quite tempted to get it just for the special features... they couldn't cram anymore crap into this 9 disc set if they tried.
  11. Wow... how cool is that? I must have one.
  12. Heh, that's nothing! My personal pet peeve? Cannon instead of Canon. Ughhh... Why can't some people get it right even after correction? vinnie ugh.. I hate that too. One more reference to the "canon fodder" (which is actually kinda funny) might push me over the edge. It must be the English major in me. Still, I try not to get too ticky considering how many MW members are non-native English speakers.
  13. Tonto confused. The point of this thread is that because the F-14 is being decommissioned left and right (after years and years and years of service)... so Yamato should quit making VF-1 toys? What the hell do these two things have to do with one another? Yamato will move on to making other valks... but I guarantee it'll have precious little to do with retirement of the similar real world F-14. Yamato is making valk toys from a 20 year old anime. For fans of the show. Which is classic. Which is the point of making them, etc, etc. I don't think Yamato and Kawamori have to keep current with today's military aircraft designs. That's never been the point of Macross and it shouldn't be. If you're tired of the VF-1 toys, by all means quit buying them. Otherwise be patient and understand that Yamato is going to do what they think is best, not you.
  14. That friend of his is clearly his managing partner, even so he claims he is helping her. Cheers Well his "friend" is getting namechecked more on Macrossworld than Shoji Kawamori. Can we be done with hearing about this now?
  15. I'd be a good sequel only if done by Brad Bird. If he felt there was another story to tell, then I'd happily watch it. Otherwise... blech.
  16. Nah, back in the '80s, from the Dark Phoenix Saga up to Muir Isle, that's when it rocked. Blue and Gold teams were OK, but they had lost Chris Claremont by then, and even though he's back doing Xtreme X-Men, I'm still not sure they've found him again. The rest of the X-books are unreadable these days, since they dropped the old formula and have tried to make it "hip" and "postmodern" and as boring as a French film. The writers of Spider-Man (JMS et.al.) at least had the good sense to keep the characters somewhat familiar while still letting them evolve (Pete Parker, high school teacher? I could see that...) So endeth the rant. Big word to that. All the Scott Lobdell stuff is poop compared to Claremont at his best. Personal fave - Asgardian War. Great stuff, early Art Adams pencils, and the New Mutants at their coolest.
  17. "Bootyjuice" It's classic and unforgettable.
  18. Same here. I actually bought mine on clearance because the Iron Giant was promoted terribly by the movie studio and didn't make the Disney-type dollars that they wanted. Hence, the toys went on clearance and I bought mine on the cheap. I considered two, but only bought one. I think I paid $15. I'd hold off on buying the DVD, though. They are set to release a special edition version DVD at some point this year. The movie was critically lauded and has grown to have a pretty huge following. Which explains the marathon, the resurged interest in the toys, etc. I'd hate to waste money on a bare bones DVD when a movie this good totally deserves a Special Edition disc. Like the Lion King DVD I bought Saturday at Target for 11.88... how great is that?
  19. Hmmm... On the one hand I say - Save 'em. You love them now, you'll love them even more later. I'm seriously glad I saved most of my toys from childhood. But on the other hand I say - Sell 'em and buy plenty of drinks for young women at bars in Florida. Those of you who have partied in Florida know what I mean. Some things really are more important than Macross toys. Maybe a combination of both. Sell the ones you don't mind selling here on the For Sale board and save the ones you'd hate to lose. That way you keep your prized valks and you still have some scratch for the ladies. Just my opinion.
  20. Every pic I see from this movie looks more and more like steaming poo.
  21. Yep... it's a great toy. Suprisingly good articulation for such a big piece. It moves like the Iron Giant himself would, if he was 2 ft tall. Also love the sound effects in the toy. It says "Hogarth... friend." Great toy, killer movie.
  22. Word. I know for sure I'd rather have 1/48 VF-1 Macross valks like these - Cannon Fodder SuperOstrich Elintseeker GBP armor VF-1D Max & Milia 1J's Max DYRL 1S I could go on all day...
  23. It's funny 'cause it's true. Jack Byrnes: His parents gotta be decent people if they named their son Gaylord Focker.
  24. Long time no hear, Spiff - it looks awesome! Keep us updated, I can't wait to see it finished.
