  1. Reposting my (crappy and old) pics from an earlier post in this thread. I happen to LOVE the Jumbo Grades. I've since added the real color version as well...Can't deny their presence.
  2. So the Gundam X, Gundam X Divider and Bit are all one set? (I actually have all the FIX releases so I must have missed the previous "triple-changers." Can't seem to recall which they could be, however...)
  3. Looking for some minty specimens to finish off these collections... 1) Hikaru's DYRL version VF-1A Joke Machine has eluded me for years. Just can't seem to find a minty one that's complete in mint box. 2) Also looking for a MIB Takatoku 1/55 GBP-1S to finish up the Taka 1/55's finally. 3) And lastly, the 1/240 diecast Takatoku Monster to finish off the Taka destroids. Help me tie up loose ends! Thanks!

I have one VF-0S that I display in fighter mode and never intend to transform. I also have one VF-0A that I transformed once into battroid mode for display, and also intend to leave as is. Have MW folks been having shoulder issues from multiple transformations, or should I be expecting my idle VF-0 shoulders to be breaking with time as well?
  5. So will the upcoming Gundam X FIX be convertible into the Gundam X, Gundam X Divider, AND the GX-Bit? I guess there's not much "conversion" between the Gundam X and Gundam X Divider, but could this be the first FIX release convertible into 3 different mecha? Or is the Bit going to be a separate release?
  6. Speaking of all the kibble on the back, I opted to leave the tail fins for BM1 off in robot mode. However, the dome of BM1 that gets swung over the top of Gunbuster's head and hangs down in back like a backpack is a bit of an eyesore....Can anything be done about that? The pics in the posted spread show the "backpack" in some, but in others it's not visible...And it does not seem to be because of the angle of the shot.
  7. Ahh, got it. Thanks! Looks like the head swapping's achievable on CM's Ingram gokins, but the shoulders, if they're supposed to be different, don't appear "swappable."
  8. I'm not a Patlabor expert by any means, but have always loved the mecha. I can't seem to find a difference between the Movie and TV versions of Ingram 1. Can someone enlighten me? Also, are the only differences between Ingrams 1, 2 and 3 just the heads (a la VF-1 Valkyries)? Thanks!
  9. I have no qualms shelling out a few extra bucks here and there. The way I see it, what's the point of waiting months or even years just to save $20? What am i going to do with my extra $0.01 a day? I would much rather grab the hard-sought item when it's available.
  10. It looks like it *might* be metallic-ish in this pic...
  11. If I'm not mistaken, I think this may be the metallic red version that features the same improvements as the Military Color Version.

    Takatoku VF1's

When I was about 8, my father came back from a business trip to Japan with a Taka VF-1J Hikaru for my little brother and a Bandai Strike Valk for me. We used to have wars between our valks, Taiwanese KO Lionbot and Omega Supreme TF. No amount of advanced engineering can replace those memories. The chunky monkeys have soul. And besides, you can't beat the box art on the old school valks! Of course, that doesn't mean I haven't purchased each and every one of Yamato's Macross releases. But if there ever came a day when I had to liquidate my collection, the vintage 1/55s would be the last to leave. No question.
  13. I don't think there was ever a Miria 1J made. But I would LOVE to be wrong!
  14. Ditto here. If it were all metal I'd consider it.
  15. Hmm, I've got all four 1/100 Takas and the single Bandai, but never noticed any of them missing a gunpod. Unfortunately, I am nowhere near any of them at the moment to check. May have a chance this weekend...if not, then in about half a month haha! Now my interest is piqued...
  16. Rinkya is good because you can time your bid yourself, or increase your bid whenever and as often as you'd like. For a competitor site like Celga, a Celga employee actually does the bidding for you. Not nearly as convenient. I believe they have a relatively new service called Celga Gold that provides users with their own Celga account for bidding directly, but a) you need to pay a subscription fee to use the service and b) I believe if you don't read Japanese, you're still out of luck. The Rinkya interface is free to use, you can bid directly, AND the interface actually translates the auction pages into English. Pretty cool. Another option you might consider is called Tokyo Hunter. Here: http://tokyohunter.blogspot.com/ If you want to move further afield from Japanese auction sites, this guy, Joseph Tsai, will actually go toy hunting in stores and conventions to find the stuff you're looking for. His fees are pretty much identical to Rinkya's, so technically he's far cheaper, given the time and money he spends travelling to Tokyo to shop for you. I use Rinkya for Yahoo Japan Auctions, and Tokyo Hunter for the offline stuff. Very happy with both. Good luck!
  17. If you find an auction you're interested in, you can first use a service like Alta Vista Babelfish at http://babelfish.altavista.com/ to translate the Japanese into English. For the most part, Japanese sellers are extremely honest and straightforward in their auction descriptions to one another, so in my experience it's not like the sticky soup of unscupulous sellers and deadbeat bidders that eBay has become. If you find something you like, go to rinkya.com, a proxy bidding service set up for foreigners looking at the YJ Auctions from the outside. You log in, enter the URL of the auction you'd like to win, enter your max bid, and bingo bango you've placed a bid. If you win, the seller ships to Rinkya, and Rinkya ships to you. Of course you pay for the shipping and handling costs, plus pay Rinkya a nominal commission, but in my opinion totally worth it when that holy item you've been pining over is sitting in your room. 1) Macross Toys Search: http://list4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/20840...e=1&thumb=1 2) VF-1S Joke Machine 1: http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k33742418 3) VF-1S Joke Machine 2: http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f48550884 Stickers unapplied! Good luck!
  18. I remember seeing two on Yahoo Japan Auctions last night...
  19. Scale and heft wise, the Dancougar fits in better with the huge and heavy vintage Chogokins/Godaikins. By comparison, the other SOCs are well articulated, metallic action figures, while big Dan is a lead brick. Which is a GOOD thing, by the way. It's got presence.
  20. Wow, that is NOWHERE near as tall as I was expecting. I think the inclusion of the shoulders in the initial height projections really skewed perceptions. At the very least, the Gunbuster SOC should be taller than the Voltes V, head to head. And yes, if they could make the Dancougar so tall, there shouldn't be any reason why Gunbuster should be so small. Still looks great, but I was really looking for some impressively scaled robot to dominate the shelves the way the old-school DX Chogokins and new-school Daigokin do.
  21. Isn't the GP03's color scheme supposed to be the traditional red, yellow and blue? Not that I'm complaining. FIX #0034 will look amazing sitting next to the Deep Striker...
  22. The Jumbo Grade figures are huge PVC "items" (with some ABS parts like the hands, rifle and shield) that aren't quite toys given extremely limited articulation (at the neck, shoulders and elbows). But the things are damn huge and look amazing. They're about the same size as Jumbo Machinders. Review from ToyboxDX: http://www.toyboxdx.com/rumble_plus/111401-jumbo.html I've attached two pics that, albeit crappy, provide a sense of their scale relative to FIX Figuration figures, DX MSiA toys, the 1/100 Metal Material and Arch Enemy toys, as well as the Kado Senshi figures all the way at the bottom. The Kado Senshi RX-78 comes up to the Jumbo Grade version's ankle...
