  1. @Mommar: Everything I needed to know, even if a bit disheartening. Much appreciated. Was thinking the 30th VF-1S would be an interesting version to (finally) get, but in the abscence of any reasonable way to get fastpack or strike parts, mabe not.
  2. Never bought an original series valk before...how do they work in terms of fastpacks (either TV or strike version)? Will fastpack accessories be sold separately for them later and/or are they compatible with older existing ones? Or is it a case of if it doesn't come with any, it isn't supported/can't be bought separately?
  3. Same in that I tried watching 7 but couldn't get beyond 2 episodes, but in my case I don't like Zero either... My rather small valk collection consists only of the triumvirate of Macross Plus valks both for interest and poverty reasons .
  4. Lol, nice use of the articulation to reflect the question. It does look ok with the intakes visible, though the turbines are a little small.
  5. Okay, I take back what I said about battroid mode looking too compromised for fighter (and will probably be a couple hundred poorer as a consequence )...leg proportions could be better, but can see from all the pics now they did a pretty good job all things considered. Makes me wonder why yamato couldn't spend a little more time finding a better pose/angle/lighting for their 'official' battroid mode pic: Compared to just about all of swoosh's (ignoring fastpack): And thanks for the images/reviews all.
  6. Totally agree with you there, there's no comparison between d-stance's 21 in battroid and yamato's - mainly due to the nose hanging so low in battroid as well as aspects of the legs only exacerbating this problem. Even minor changes along the lines of your pic would be enough to prompt me to get one, but for now battroid is the main reason I'll be sitting this one out, despite how nice it looks in fighter.
  7. I believe this http://www.kit.hi-ho.ne.jp/sptlz00x/FACTORY/YF-21/YF21_2.htm is wave's version. WAVE 1/100 Both are are extremely impressive models. In terms of pure appearance I think I prefer d-stance's but it is very close and both have their good points.
  8. Well the amount of diecast didn't pan out, and just how small 24cm is is really starting to show (not a lot of macro in that macross...). Definitely overpriced and glad only ordered the one. Will still get it purely because there is no real alternative anywhere near the same quality for the moment and because I'd probably regret it later if I didn't. Asides from size, it is still an impressive looking piece with decent build quality, but overall am pretty disappointed, especially about the diecast. Was hoping there would be more to justify the price .
  9. Hi everyone, long time lurker here. I arrived late to this thread, but as soon as I saw the images I knew I was going to preorder - short of any major issues. Have been hanging out for a long time for an SDF, and as it stands I am sorely tempted to get 2, but reason is holding me off for now . Just pointing out in case anyone didn't notice, in the source venue of the pics posted by Deimos a while back, it looks like the model hadn't been transformed properly with the shoulder canons sitting on top of the shoulders, instead of flush on the back as they are supposed to be, hence why they appear weirdly tall, and why the connector is visible - they aren't in any of the other pics. I don't know about anyone else, but those pics were really putting me off and I thought it may have just been the angle of the previous pics (which would have been disappointing) till I did a comparison - thought those canons looked long. Comprison image attached... In any case, while it definitely could be bigger, it is still a good display size and the stands are a nice touch. The shininess is a bit odd, but it seems to suit it - especially the bluish tint, as appears in the movie. It is definitely expensive for the size, but at the very least seems to have an unusually healthy amount of diecast with tight joints, and that is what did it for me - thanks for the assessment roger. The only thing I am worried about is the gap in the legs when in cruiser mode as none of the pics (maybe intentionally) show this well, but I'll be happy as long as the final model is comparable in detail/quality to the prototype. Oh and lastly, noticed that according to TMP it is coming out in late february... Edit: time out while adding attachment and somehow it posted...go figure
