  1. Finally got mine.  Any tips on how to loosen the super tight shoulder joint?

And I got assembly error on the hip bar.  The error don't affect anything other than keep the leg from perfectly pointing forward in soldier mode.   I tried removing that screw but the part still stay tightly together.  Have any one disassembled this thing?

  2. Before anyone get too excited, search "hachette collection tomcat" on ebay and look at the price..

From what I can tell, their business model for these large model are subscription service, and they mail a set of pieces to you every week or every month.  It may take 50+ sets to complete the model.  Some initial sets will be sold in magazine rack in e.g. 7-11 in Japan at low price to entice customers.

@CF18Hold up... is that a picture of your collection... AT  WORK? I think I know who's desk I'm going to raid on my last day before I quit or get laid off!

What kind of stand are you using to prop up your VF-31E and J in that picture?

    Yes, at work.

Stand came from the gray market thread:

With armor, it can still stand on the legs if the ground is not too slippery.  The elbows can hold the weights only at certain angles.  The add-on clip on the back don't seems to be useful - it will just fly off if the big cannon's weight applies on it.

Haven't try to transform it yet.

N-Y is always a risk. I recall a package lost in transport as I waited 6 weeks with no movement of the item on tracking. Contacted them 3 times for a new shipment or refund and they repeatedly told me no and that the shipment was on its way. Got my cc company involved and successfully got refunded and N-Y ended up banning my account. Lo and behold the item never arrived. I have a new account with them, but only use them as a last resort now.

Yeah NY is the only shop I deal with that still use hand writing for shipping address.  My last EMS package from them was routed to the wrong city before re-routed back to the right one, my guess was due to computer did not read the hand written postal code correctly.

I still wouldn't try it for any long-term display.

It don't looks as back heavy as VF-25S, but I would probably still use the support arms.

  7. Oh, the new launch arm stand have quite a lot of improvement over the old one.

    - storage space.

    - two extra stabilizing legs.

    - round plug adapter for VF-0, SV51.

    - no exposed screw holes on the big arm.

    - 4800 yen is only a bit more than the original price (around 4000 yen at 2004), cheaper than the knock off

  8. This is what Zenmarket.jp charges me:

Final shipping from Japan will be calculated when it arrives.

Order limit at Tamashii shop is 4 units per account, so that's probably why CDjapan don't even bother.  They don't want to pull multiple account/address tricks unlike NY.  NY specialize with these limited item, list them at attractive price and profit from their higher shipping cost.

  9. Yes Bandai reissued a bunch of older stuff for Feb and March for what ever reason.  Browse around AmiAmi and you can see a bunch of Robot Spirits and a few Super Robot Chogokin (Aquarian EVOL and Giant Robo) at half price, even in pre-order status.
