  1. Looks great, wish I could have made it there too. Hopefully I will make it to the next macross con.
  2. I will try my best to make it to the con. I will tell the wife i will not be able to have the wedding coz i have to headover to join my macross fans. It will be awesome, makes me want to pack my bags now and my Macross models too.
  3. If anyone does find out please let me know also. I have been asking around for that compound that he squeezed out from the that bottle and used it on cleaning the excess paint. But all the hobby stores don't know what the hell I am going on about.
  4. heheheh Might need to take up smoking now, just might help my modeling. Is it wise to be smoke while you have all those chemicals around. who cares as long as the results look good right?
  5. Thanks. I am hoping to try to do a cleaner build with my next kit.
  6. Thanks. I did a full paint strip of that VF-19. Hope it will be ok once i do a revamp.
  7. Thanks. I'll keep you posted on the steps I take. Pre-shade.
  8. Thanks for the nice comments, hopefully my next model will look better. I am Currently working on a YF-19 at the moment.
  9. That's nice work. Here is my one which has been through a big battle, hence bullet holes on the chest.
  10. Hi all, I posted awhile back on my nasty first attempt at weathering my first VF-0S Battleroid Kit. First attempt at weathering. Here are some pics of my second attempt at this. This is the same model as first attempt. I just did a full paint strip. I had alot of tips from my good friend warpaint. thanks dude.
  11. Thanks, I'll need to put on a better gloss coat this time around and not use a flat white this time.
  12. I ran into major problems when I did the panel lines. First I used a weathering set Tamiya Weathering Master B Set, using water and a thin brush to apply the chalky thing. i let the thing dry and it just won't come off with water. So i used some thinner and omg it came right off with paint job too. Second I tried to use some acrylic paint thin down with some water, it applied ok. When it was time to remove the excess... again it too off all the paint on the model. what products should I be using to remove the excess paint or weathering, without taking the whole paint job off. I did coat my whole paint job in some clear gloss coat to protect the paint, but it still just took off.
  13. Here is a photo of my new workstation setup.
  14. The pre-shading was ok dark, I just went over with a few layers of white to cover it. Shot at 2008-01-07
  15. Anyone know any good tutorial pages for airbrushing?
  16. I found that using either oven cleaner or car degrease will do the job. Just spray the thing on and leave it in a small plastic container for an hour or so then come back with a tooth brush and scrub off the paint. I also recently did a complete paint strip.
  17. Here is a photo of my first attempt of doing pre-shading. I seriously need some more practice in doing this LOL
  18. Yeah I checked the U-bend pipe, it's about 2M deep down, no way I will find this piece. I would have to just make the piece collateral damage of a battroid battle. I just bought myself the same model kit and a few others today, but I will build up my skills before I attempt to build these ones.
  19. Picture2 has some sand paper on the bottom right hand corner. I have 3 types of paper that I use to sand my parts. All parts are nice and clean, just like it came out from the box. Besides the fact that I did all kinds of %$#* to it and abused it. It's a sad day for my battroid, last night while I was cleaning the parts I wasn't thinking for a second and washed the parts with the drain hole open. One of the parts said goodbye to the others and jumped into the abyss. The part that committed suicide was the little light thing on the shoulders of the battroid.
  20. I tried the Car Degreaser and it works like a charm. just cleaning up the parts now.
  21. The thinner ate through 4 pairs of plastic gloves. It didn't seem to eat through the plastic, since I rubbed the thinner on with a cloth and then with water. Come to think about it, after stripping some of the parts I was pretty light headed. Probably never gonna sit in the the closed room like that again. Here are a few images of my workstation that I just setup, and how the parts turned out. My new airbrush & compressor.
  22. oh.... too late, last night i use enamel paint thinner to strip the paint off the parts, it was nasty. The thinner ate through my rubber gloves. However the parts came out clean again. This model and the YF-19 are the only models I currently have to work on. The other macross models are on back order.
  23. Nice, i will try this out on my next model. I think this one might be hard to fix up. I have such a thick layer of gloss spray can paint on the surface of this model. This is because I didn't get my nice airbrush yet. Should i strip the whole model of it's paint and redo?
  24. Thanks, I will check that site out. So after washing all the parts i should coat the plastic in a layer of primer, so it allows the paint to stick? should i get the primer that is for the airbrush, or will the normally spray can primer be ok to use?
