It's not clear what version of the internet he's referring to, but I'd hazard a guess that it's somewhere between dial-up (40-56 kb/s) and broadband (1~25 Mb/s).  Definitely not fibre-optic class (250~1,000 Mb/s).

Going to think that this would be a per-user limitation, forcing an entire fleet to talk galactically via the equivalent of a T1 line means you'd have to limit what you send out. But that helps to clarify what to expect. I guess within the fleet, no such restrictions apply?

  2. Maintaining a comms network across the Milky Way? Sounds like titanic work in the most literal of senses.

I think the name "Galaxy Network" reminded me a bit of how TV channels used to name themselves, which makes sense for the medium. Nice to know Kawamori did clarify that bit recently, though I bet you still get lagswitching hackusations in whatever passes for online gaming.

  3. Comms question: We've seen real time communications across light years for military operations (MacF), strategic round-table discussions (Mac7) and intracluster news broadcasts (Delta Zettai Live!). With all that, do normal civilians living in emigration fleets or settled worlds have access to superluminal comms? e.g; some manner of Xaos!Discord or federated social media?

  4. Life after Delta? Well I guess the ending ticked me off enough to make me go properly learn game engines. Might be I could do better combat choreo than the CGI dude. Or something.

You mean 'Love, Live, Alive'? 'She' was Yellow Belmont, a guy, despite the looks.

Uh, fairly sure the poster's talking about Love Live, the school idol franchise that Bamco is pushing.

  5. Hey, so I just got this game last Sunday (family went on vacation to Japan, may as well take the opportunity) and have been bashing around the first three parts or so (got Mylene, just flying around doing missions). I'm getting a bit tired of the VF-S though, is Valkyrie progression going to keep at this rate?

  6. Hmm...is it because you activated MSN LIVE and its wanting to access LIVE or something? I didn't bother with that. For me I didn't get any crashes after disabling ffdshow....and thanks to that i'm losing sleep.

    I finished

hooking the radar up on the Washington monument. The musuem of technology hints that it has an antiquated T-45 power armour somewhere in it but i searched for it all over the musuem and can't find it. Anyone knows where? I just finished rescuing Reily's Rangers.

You don't find a T-45 anywhere in the game, but there is

a suit of T-51b armor. Go to the underworld, talk to Crowley, get the keys, but don't give them to him. Look around the northwest corner of the world for Fort Constantine, apparently it's in the bomb storage area. Pretty much the best armor in the game, apparently.

  7. it seems really odd that they'd showcase this with out there being a good reason.  what kind of gun is this "the boss" using?

if its a colt .45 those are pretty well known for their tumbling bullets arn't they?

It was some kinda SMG with a double-capacity magazine. It doesn't look like anything I've seen before because of the strange magazine. Maybe its a TMP.

According to Sigint it was a cut-down XM16 with a C-Mag. Think XM177 with a 100 round clip on the bottom.

  8. scrapped names include...

    "Robotech: Covert Ops"

    "Robotech: Counter Strike"

    "Robotech: Rainbow Six"

    You forgot:

    "Robotech: Rogue Spear"

    "Robotech: Ghost Recon"

    And then there's:

    "Robotech: Full Spectrum Warrior"

    "Robotech: Operation Flashpoint"

    "Robotech: Second Sight"

    "Robotech: "IGI"

How could we not include Robotech: Splinter Cell? That's a classic!
