  1. Overall the quality and paint apps are very good. I only have 3 toynami toys the alpha, beta and voltron MPC and I have very high recommendations for the voltron and Beta

One thing when I was displaying the toy a very small screw fell from somewhere on the beta which I will find and screw back in and add crazy glue. Posing is ok the Legs are a little loose due to the heavy diecast. As a BIG fan of diecast I will say that this should have had none. It would have been easier to pose and make the toy firm. The stand and connection with the alpha is pretty sturdy and very well thought out considering a lot of anime magic was left for imagination. There are two connection rods to use with the beta to connect with the alpha

One for the alpa when in Battroid mode the other in flight mode. Buy it you wont be disappointed. I dont have the CMs I do have the CMs GGGG and GFG and i think the overall qc problems with toynami releases have improved with the beta and I will assume is much better than the CMs version. One other thing. When you try to add the pilot in cockpit it doesnt close properly so you have to leave it out

    thanks

  2. awesome work Jarrod! i like how you did the panel lines, and decals placement are very good too. photography is one of the best i've seen, and the poses gave a very dynamic feel to the model :) especially this shot, kickass!

    DSC01398.jpg

and i've only seen it now, but your custom VF-1 Perfect Transformation just amazed me :D

    dam you do good work

oh well now i have to get on e

  3. According to the pics

all the gaps will help to fit the hinges of a FULL covering armor set making the fighter mode looking like a potatoe :p

    A FLYING POTATOE !!!!

oups sorry it is me bitching again

more seriously I agree that Bandai did not put a lot of effort into the design

It could have been much better

we all know they could have done better !

an easy fix for the gaps on the nose will be for them to include magnets !!

    like on the SV-51 nose

    ;)

wah wah get the kid a pacifier

  4. Teenages with a Half Shell... TURTLE POWER! :p

peh Nah it's not lilke spastic bad, in fact when an if they bring out the armour pack with Ozmas' 25 i'll probably get it, in fact i was always going pick up the first

release, that's until we got wind of the fast packs being released from their onlline website only! An d here i thought yamato was only capable of that gayness...

and then castor wheels.... and gaps, and line art in-acurracies in all 3 modes.

    you need a women

and by that a real one whinning about a dam toy holy &^%$

  5. Actually with those pics right there, that looks pretty good... I've never been one to care about accuracy to the show, I'm not looking for perfection... perhaps it helps that I am not a hardcore collector. I do like the show though, and I love the VF-25. It may not be spot on with the CGI model, but damn if that thing doesn't look pretty decent in its own right. The gaps and stuff don't bother me, Masterpiece Starscream has tons of gaps and stuff like that and I love that in my collection. You know, I think this can do just fine.

Think I might wait for the Mikhail w/ Fast pack release though, not sure... when is that one coming out? If I do that I could get the Ozma model, not sure yet...

and thats what I have been trying to convey all along. I dont know any high end toy thats 100% perfect. and people have a choice buy it dont buy it

Could bandai do better sure so could yamato and so could taktomy but boy it looks sweet. I really am looking past the very minor flaws and enjoying this piece the more I see it

I too will wait for Mikhail as I love that dam snipe gun. I think this one will have the super strike parts available for it later.

I just hope they dont release it with the plane that would piss me off

  6. And it's pwetty to youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

They need to shoot out bundle packs, i could be tempted.

Agree with Ghostkiller, it's not about which company is developing what, it's the final product we are bitching about.

Why, i remember Y brand trying to bring out the 1/100 VF-0S, we bitched hard, and they re-thought their mistakes, whislt the 25 DX is no way that cailbur of crap, essentially it's the same d.

    NugundamII your bandai's bitch.

    NugundamII your bandai's bitch. laugh.gif

thats right thats why I own a bunch of yamato crap

and why im buying their patlabor which is by way of price far more superior than any of their valks and it has diecast

All I am saying is that if you have never seen the show and only saw the toy people here will be saying more positive things. I dont expect every toy to be perfect and it never is. How could it be. I now own almost every PG Gundam and dam they are nice and can be classified as art only to those that see it that way(People that have expensive china or paintings would see us as childish regardless as this things are TOYS) but its way off from perfect as certain joints wont move in a certain way or balance issues can be a problem and even how pieces may not fit in a certain way. Its the way it is. But if you dont hate bandai but hate the toy dont buy it. I for one will. it WILL look nice with the Yammie valks and when those years pass I will ebay the thing for 600 when those that turned it up will be looking for their very own as I understand Bandai has the license for a long time

  7. The both have their own faults. The 1/48 has the problems that shin listed, however the 1/60 v.2 head placement in battroid is just wrong. Also, the back pack lock is a visible eyesore in gerwalk and the the fuselage antenna rubs against the tail fins in battroid/gerwalk... especially if you attempt to use the back pack latch or if the FAST packs are attached. The 1/60 also has big unsightly holes on the back of the calves and on the underside of the nose cone. The paint on the shoulder has a tendency to chip as well.

Poor People's Macross Toy Collecting Support Group (PPMTCSG) member

Paint chips on a plastic toy.....hmmm I remember someone here saying that Die cast in a toy sucks because of the paint chips. And now we have paint chipping on a PLASTIC TOY not to mention all the faults but hey its a Yamato and its awesome because its just so show accurate I love you yamato I love you

  8. no way it is macrossworld and that is the funny part !

Man you anti bandai people are SUUUUUCCCCHHHH Whinners!

A Ferrari and a truck analogy good god how old are you ?

IF you NEVER SAW THE SHOW I wonder if you would be saying what your saying now!!!!!!

    Anyway

I was on the Yamato site

    http://translate.google.ca/translate?hl=en...cial%26hs%3DGaH

This looks interesting. I am going to buy this!

::Mod edit:: Awfully close to flaming, consider this a warning.

  9. I am part of the mentally ill 1% of Macross fandom that absolutely hates how the VF-25 looks in the series. It is just too anorexic, and the mega-crotch block thing just looks strange. But I do strangely find the DX VF-25 more appealing for some reason, and like it better than the actual line-art.

    There, I've said it! ... /equip flamesuit

Shame on you. Dont you know that Yamato makes more superior products and better manufacture IDENTICAL show worthy Valks. I know the hands on the 1/48s look like toothpicks and the back pack is hard to keep in place but that Line art is soooooo

100% Bandai's vf 25 is just sooooo fat. That dam crotch is soo big. Nevermind if you never saw the show and would think that the design is soo cool it just isnt 100% so its poo WHY cause Yamato makes a Superior product even tho plastic scaring occurs when you try to transform it or certain fast packs cant stay on. ahem lets not mention the perfect macross motorcyle valk < forgot the name, where you to transform it and try to stick the figure in the seat it would break. But thats ok and its forgivable because Yamato is the BEST TOY COMPANY EVER and their stuff is 100% show accurate

Whats wrong with you!!!!!!!! Who cares if it breaks only that its a YAMATO and show accurate

I LOVE YOU YAMATO I LOVE YOU!!!!!

  10. WOW  we can mix match all the modular schemes as well as franken-build our destroids. So I'm hoping that the Spartan would follow the same modular design cuz it'll get old fast with the same old bipedals. Since Kawamori likes passing the spliff around Yamato HQ, it would be nice, if Yamato can do a 1/60 version line of the Armored Core that would be epic!

Wont happen. Kotobukiya owns the rights to armored core. I have the mirage 1/100 scale and dam its nice very detailed looking mech. It would be nice to have it made as bigger scale collectable toy but like I said Kotobukiya holds the rights

  11. I just hope the price doesn't exceed 20,000 yen...

@ nugundamII: Gawds. Dude, it was a JOKE (based on their way of releasing quadrillions of Gundam variants). No reason to call me an 'idiot'.

    I SAID

    I Kid I kid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Anyhoo

like gorilla Prime said, Diecast contruction! Its a lost art

I love DIECAST. Somehow when I wear my ugly garantuan Tudor I feel that I have quality on my wrist

So to can be said for metal toys yes they do chip but they dont fade! so like everything in life you have a ying and a yang and I say the yang in this case has more influence since the only way you can chip something is by being careless but color fading just occurs over time without your control

    thanks bye

  12. Of course, knowing Bandai's milking of molds, we'll get the following set of releases:

    Confirmed:

Also add the obligatory black 'stealth' and clear 'crystal' repaints which will only be available through magazine mail-ins and which will cost 3 times the original price. Each will come with better detailed versions of the pilots and a diorama piece allowing you to build a 1/60 scale segment of the Macross Quarter's landing deck.

Then 5 years from now Bandai re-releases all of the limiteds with a 25% price drop just to screw with you.

    :p

    Apologies for being obtuse

    but your an idiot!

    What company doesnt do that

    Toynami does it

    Hasbro does it

Toy wiz with its marvel figures

    Yamato does it

    Takara does it

    Tomy does it with Zoids

Honda, Toyota heck all the car companies do it

Bad argument. Shoo back to the drawing board with your lamo excuses

point is its a nice toy, things they could do now what they couldnt do a while back and its Bandai's license not Yammies

Yammies are nice if you like pop'em off parts that break if you transform it 1.5 times

Yamato couldnt figure out to incorporate metal into nice designs they had to go to plastic and they still F' it up

I for one like it. I like it as much as I love my Yammie Yf-19 1/72 which I think was pretty good and still is

and dont get me wrong I still like yamato and if they werent around you would be lining up to get em

Im a macross fan and I like the design and Im grateful we have a valkaryie

Bandai hasnt disappointed me yet with SOC stuff

Thanks Bandai I appreciate the work you put in

yours truely the not so perfectionist whiny baby

  13. Yeah but you shouldn't have to fix broke either.

I call bullsh!t. Check movie starscream from 2007.

Because articulated hands are not only prone to looseness, but also suffer from either sculpt or scale(sad sh!t that the beloved 1/48 has hands that are the same size as the new 1/60), and hell your beloved Yamato only recently realized that putting a tab to secure the gunpod on the articulated hand would keep the gun from falling out. I think they did this with the 19, and 21 too. Oh and Bandai does know about articulated hands, their MG kits have had them for years, and yes they used the tab for weaponry years back. Are you the same guy that complained when Yamato offered bigger swappable hands with the 1/48 GPS armor or Hikaru's 1J?

The gullet shouldn't be there pure and simple, it effectively destroys the elegance of the fighter mode. It is worse than the DX VF-25's mega cock of doom. Not to mention, the groin piece on the 19 sits too low, to the point that both the GNU and Revoltech look better, yea it isn't a fair comparison because those don't transform and I understand the reason the crotch and gullet is present is because Yamato wants retractable landing gear bla bla.

Yeah the only Macross toys you could afford from Yamato at that price are smaller than the DX VF-25, the 25 is in the same size class as the Macross Plus valks/Zero. OH WAIT. I forgot. Since obviously you are willing to fix broke...add in another $30+ for replacement parts. You can't fix ugly but you can certainly fix broke if you pay up.

    thank you

well Put could have not have spoken/written it better than myself

there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with this design! and it surprises me that Kawamori would not have thought of it. If this plane were to land on an air strip it would literally sheer the rear thrusters off each time it did so. Planes need to land on (correct me if I'm wrong but I think I'm close enough) 30-40 Degree angles to catch the rear landing gears first and then it lowers its nose cone to have the front landing gears touch. This plane would either need to always take off and land in Valk mode or it must have vtol thrusters which I dont see any

    just thought to mention

  16. Bandai is really doing a great job on this valkyrie imo, and giving their financial background and quality assurance i'm sure they'll do a better job than yamato. Not that yamato ain't good, but Bandai just has more resources at their disposal to create better products.

    Amen

That is why when it was announced that Bandai was designing and manufacturing the valk I was happy while all the others were whining that Yamato was not manufacturing it. Be grateful, My Yammie Yf-21 cant hold the fastbacks on the belly without scotch tape!!!! Some QC !

  17. I am a little confused. I think your translator is not working well. Translating from Japanese to english does not work very well, if you are using an online translator. can you put the parts back together? Take a picture of the parts that will not transform then use photoshop or some other editing program to circle or point at the piece that does not work.

Also you are in Okinawa, right? Then you can call Yamato directly. Do they have a customer service phone number?

meh its a yammie mine yf 21 you cant get the fast pack belly parts to stick so I used scotch tape

I kinda of expect it with yammie Thank god for Bandai!!
