  1. That's a really nice looking valk. I wish I had the budget for one.
  2. BBTS has the Iron Man MkVI discounted a bit, so I decided to pick one up. Really great poseability. Bigger than I expected, which helps me feel better about the expense.
  3. That's why I just started buying the figures I want from BBTS. I figure the time and annoyance it saves me is worth the extra couple bucks I spend.
  4. I'm still waiting for them to add playable Romulans.
  5. Me too! Scourge is really superb. His transformation seems like it might be simplistic, but there is some interesting folding going on and he looks great in BOTH modes. Thundercracker's paint apps look really solid. He's probably the best of the 3 original seekers.
  6. Argh! I forgot to get in on the pre-order and now this set is backordered. I guess I'll have to wait for the next shipment to come in.
  7. Well I said "should be", according to Hasbro they're a February release. My local stores are kind of a crap shoot. I found Wreck-Gar and Perceptor at Target two weeks ago. The Toys R Us across the street seems to be a little behind and has a mixture of the previous wave of figures. The local Wal Mart is even further behind and still has figures from before Christmas.
  8. That's Dirge. TC is the blue F-15 that should be showing up in stores any day now.
  9. New FansProject Insecticons: http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/fansproject-causality-insecticons-revealed/20875/
  10. That's after Odin removes his power and casts him down among the mortals, from what I understand. He also just fell from the sky.
  11. Yeah I feel the same way. That's partially to blame for why it takes me so long to find figs around here. I saw a couple of the basement-dwellers picking through the shelves one day at Target.
  12. Found Wreck-Gar and Perceptor today. Perceptor's transformation made me feel like I was going to break him several times, but everything has tabs and seems to lock together nicely. Wreck-Gar looks great but takes a fair amount of cussin' to get back in motorcycle mode. Dare to be stupid!
  13. Thing is... I bet you eleventy dollars that he would've said COOOLLL about a Republic Shuttle that was just a really nice accurate toy with no extra gimmickry. I think toy companies are trying too hard.
  14. The Silmarillion - J.R.R. Tolkien The Fuller Memorandum - Charles Stross And I Shall Wear Midnight - Terry Pratchett Red Mars - Kim Stanley Robinson The Stross and Pratchett books I've finished reading, the other two I have read before and just pick up and read bits occasionally.
  15. The toy industry is rife with this sort of marketing-droid thought process. As a Lego fan, I find it especially irritating because many sets are crapped up with action play gimmicky shooters or flip-change functions instead of actual Lego bricks. Contrary to my gripe, however, (and trying to be semi-on-topic) the Star Wars Lego sets are generally better designed with more brick content than some of the other lines like Atlantis or Mars Mission, which often use a Technic frame with a few bricks tacked on. It actually kind of makes me yearn for the days when the spring-loaded shooters were illegal and they focused more on the toys just being cool designs.
  16. With the crappy distribution around here, I'm probably going to just bite the bullet and order this from BBTS. Yeah, they're marked up, but at least BBTS has good customer service. I once ordered Alternator Tracks from them and they sent me Ravage by mistake. I emailed them about it and they sent me Tracks and told me to just keep Ravage. I wish Wheeljack looked more like a Stratos, too. Lately it seems that Hasbro has been making their own car designs so they don't have to pay for licensing from various auto companies.
  17. I missed Hound back in the day, so I'm trying to decide if I really want to try to buy one on fleaBay.
  18. My area seems to be about six weeks behind the rest of the country. Finally found Dirge last night,
  19. I was never a big fan of Daltanious but I'm looking forward to seeing more of God Sigma.
  20. If you like them, that's fine. I am not trying to start another Bayformers debate. I was only trying to make the point that if you don't like a particular design it's ok to just ignore it. You don't have to be a completist. I've skipped buying many different TFs over the years from many different series.
